Somewhere I Belong
Chapter 8

Sirius was up early considering the hour they all finally retired, but his mind was full of both the past and present; of what he should have done differently. Harry....Eneto was a grown man. Well past the age of asking for advice from his Godfather or to be living with him. Even now with all that had been revealed, he knew that he would not have been able to raise Harry. Dumbledore would have found a way for them to be separated. He might have taken him and hidden him away somewhere. Trained him in secret. Kept him secluded from his family and friends.

Or even eliminated him from the picture altogether.

Dumbledore had his own agenda. It was only the clear thinking of Lily that had saved her son in the end; gave him a life he deserved, if only a few years too late. The damage done by the Dursley's had been undone, by someone other than him. By a complete stranger.

Gregori Garaguso. A man who had taken his godson into his home and his heart; raised him, trained him, taught him, and loved him as if he were his own flesh and blood. He did what Sirius should have, but couldn't. Saved and protected Harry from the demons that chased him, and so-called family who abused him. Saved him from Dumbledore and his self-serving manipulations.

Gregori had walked out into the common room of Eneto's rooms. He poured himself a cup of tea while he took a good look at the man known as Sirius Black. This was the man he only knew of from the pictures that his adopted son had brought with him. Eneto said that his album was one of his treasures.

"Eneto... Harry... came to me a broken child. Scared. Angry above all. It was almost eighteen months of arguing, and giving him boundaries not to cross. With the blocks off of his magic, he had to relearn everything."

Sirius had turned at the sound of a man's voice. He saw the man that his godson had called Papa standing in the room. "Harry has his mother's temper. Lily was righteous in her anger when it came to defending the underdog."

"He is a fiery one. All he lacks is the red hair." Gregori chuckled as he sat down across from Sirius. "Sit. Sit."

Sirius sat again, and studied the man as they enjoyed their tea in silence. Gregori was a tall solidly built man with a regal bearing. Broad shoulders and chest sat atop a lean waist and strong legs. His arms were large and muscled, and his hands roughened by anything but idleness. His hair was dark and thick, and shot through liberally with silver; a mustache and goatee to match. Eyes the colour of green fields, looked out from a face weathered by honest work out in the elements. Those eyes, and his mouth, were surrounded by the lines of laughter, his brow unfurrowed by unnecessary worry. His accent was heavy and rich, the timbre of his voice soothing to the ear, unless he was angry, of course, then it would scare a banshee. The man bore a countenance of one who lived honestly and slept peacefully at night because of it.

Blue eyes met green, as a shot of desire Sirius hadn't felt in years, pooled in his belly. Sirius resisted, with difficulty, the urge to squirm, as Gregori's eyes danced.

Gregori reached over and patted Sirius' knee. "Just as Eneto said last night. He never forgot you. I think he even hid out in Hogsmeade just to see you walking around after you were cleared of all charges. He was there the day the Ministry held their big press conference. He came back and sparred with Eduardo and Aric for hours, until he fell into bed exhausted, later that day." Gregori seem to drift for a moment. "He packed a bag and left on his bike, disappearing for two weeks. All he said was he had some demons to deal with and then he would be back.. Just give him some time."

Sirius felt better in his heart that Harry... Eneto was there to see him gain his freedom. "Thank you, Gregori."

"Thank you, Sirius Black. In the short time he had with you, you made an impression. A true familial link to his past. It was something he needed. Something that Dumbledore kept from him. Denied him. For that alone, the old bastard will pay."

Severus woke to a very warm human blanket draped over his body. Eneto. How many times in the past, in stolen moments, had they awakened like this? They had stayed up late, after everyone else had gone off to bed. Eneto had told him about his past. Everything from his years with the Dursley's, continuing up to the day he entered the Great Hall as Eneto Santiago.

After all the talking, he finally understood that, by the time Eneto had met him at that conference, he wasn't Harry Potter anymore. He was a completely different person--no longer a confused and lonely boy, but a confident man, and a more powerful wizard. He was now who he was meant to be; who he would have been sooner in his life, if Albus Dumbledore hadn't interfered.

Severus' long tapered fingers had started combing through the soft raven curls on Eneto's head, as he watched his lover sleep.

"Feels nice. Should do this more often," Eneto mumbled, as he stretched languidly, enjoying the feeling of his body rubbing against the bare warmth of Severus'.

Severus moaned. "That doesn't feel too bad either. It would be much better if we were somewhere more secluded, such as the Alps?"

"Ah, the Alps. Roaring fire. A fine bottle of Merlot, nice selection of cheeses and that lovely bread that the chalet provided for the all the rooms. How long were we stranded again?"

"Eight," Severus groaned as Eneto kissed a sensitive place just below his ear. "Days. Hmmm... eight very long and enjoyable days."

"Quite enjoyable, if I remember correctly." Eneto started trailing kisses up Severus' neck..

"Even though we are both wizards and could have left at anytime...." Severus' voice was breathy as he leaned his head back., relishing the kisses.

"Where would the fun have been in that?" Eneto asked as he kissed his way around the shell of Severus' ear and stared down into dark pools of obsidian dilated with desire. "And we would have had to explain to the Muggles that came along on the trip where we disappeared to, and how we made it back down the mountain when no one else could."

"True." Long fingers threaded into Eneto's curls again. "And we wouldn't have had gotten to know each other quite so 'intimately' if we'd left right away." He pulled Eneto down and kissed him deeply.

Moving around a bit so he straddled Severus' hips, and aligning himself with Severus, he started to slowly frot against his lover as their tongues battled for dominance. Moaning at the additional sensations, Severus rolled his hips, thrusting up to meet Eneto's rhythm; their movements causing the sheets to slide from their bodies.

Across the room, the door opened slowly, with a knocking on the old wood. "Blimey Har--Eneto. When do you plan on... OH!"

Ron Weasley's eyes widened comically as he saw both men... naked men, moving and moaning. Flushed with arousal and totally engrossed in what they were doing, Eneto and Severus had no idea they were being watched. Ron stood in the open doorway, his hand still on the latch, gaping, mouth open, as he stared.

"MY EYES!" He cried, and the door slammed shut behind him as he fled.

Eneto broke the kiss and bit the long pale neck. Severus hissed. "You r-really need t-to remember the lock-king charms."

"I know, but it's so much more fun to see that shocked look on Ron's face again." Eneto mumbled as he nuzzled the pale ear and gave a hard thrust of his hips.

Severus grabbed the slender hips and pulled his lover against him as he thrust back, groaning and gasping. He quickly flipped them, covering Eneto's body with his own. Ron and his shocked reaction were immediately forgotten.

Later, Ron sat at the breakfast table, covering his face while the others tried in vain to contain their laughter.

"Honestly Ron. You knew that Eneto and Severus were having a... relationship. We all saw them enter the same room. What did you think would happen?"

"A tea party, maybe?" Draco drawled, in feigned innocence. Hermione cuffed her lover in the back of the head.

He laughed, kissing her on the cheek, before ducking another swipe at his head. He wrapped his arms around her, effectively pinning her arms, as he leaned in and nuzzled her neck.

"My Eyes! I'll never be able to get rid of that sight! OHHHH!"

"And you, Ronald Weasley. Quit whining!" She wiggled against her captor. "Draco!"

"Children. Children. Such exuberance this early in the morning after such a late night," Sirius commented as he entered the dining room and took a seat at the table.

Gregori entered a moment later and sat down next to him, flashing him a quick smile. Charlie, Bill, Percy, and the twins came trickling in next; all taking seats around the table. Remus entered, with Lucius beside him, looking immaculate and elegant as always. They seated themselves between Sirius and the twins, with Remus next to Sirius. Good mornings were exchanged as the tea, coffee and serving platters and bowls were passed. Ron's cheeks remained pink but nothing else was said, as the doors to the dining room were opening again. Everyone remained silent.

Eneto shuffled in slowly behind Severus, still blurry-eyed, but with a sappy smirk on his face. Severus smiled knowingly toward Ron but said nothing as they took their seats. Eneto leaned over and kissed his Papa on the cheek before taking the chair beside him. Everyone eyed the couple as they seated themselves and began filling their plates. When they realized there was no conversation occurring around them, they looked up and around the table at the faces grinning back at them.

"And what, may I ask, has all of you so amused this morning?" Severus inquired with a straight face, eyebrow raised. Filling two teacups, he placed one in front of Eneto, first making sure he added three lumps of sugar and a dash of cream.

"You know it's too early in the morning to be this happy?" Eneto mumbled into his teacup, before taking a sip.

"Well I don't know, Eneto, the well shagged look seems to be in this morning," quipped Gregori.

"You're just jealous, Papa." Eneto smirked, as he continued to sip at his tea. Severus rolled his eyes.

"I don't know, my son. I may be an old man but I am still healthy and attractive... and there are many prospects out there..." Gregori slid a hand onto Sirius' thigh below the table.

Remus snickered. He caught the tell tale scent of arousal in the air, and the deer-caught-in-the-headlight-look on Sirius' face, as the man went still as stone.

Sirius went still as the hand slid up his thigh. He had always been the aggressor in any relationship he engaged in, be it man or woman. Even when he'd been part of a couple of triads. But he had never been the one pursued. He turned his head toward the older man, and for the first time he felt like the hunted, as the man smiled at him; a pure predatory smile.

'Oh bloody hell!', Sirius thought.

Ron shoveled a spoon full of eggs into his mouth and swallowed. "Sirius? Are you alright Mate?"

"Honestly Ron! Are you sure you're a Weasley?" Percy commented, as he shook his head.

There were quiet snickers around the table, and Hermione shook her head. Some things about that man would never change, no matter what century he is in. Draco reached behind Hermione and popped Ron in the back of the head.

"Hey! What was that for?!"

"Being clueless, Weasley!" Draco drawled.

As the table erupted in laughter, Eneto was watching his Godfather and Papa interact. This was a development that he didn't see coming. But a welcome one.

"What do you have planned for today, Eneto?" Gregori asked taking a sip of his own tea.

"Tom Riddle is searching for the Monk's scrolls and the location of the Grail."

"The swords?"

"What would he want with the Monk's scrolls, Eneto?" Hermione asked.

"The Monks of Glastonbury Abby kept details of artifacts that belonged to Arthur. Such as he carried two swords. Excalibur and Caledfwlch or also known as Caladbolq, the lightning sword of Fergus mac Roich. He also seeks the sword of Clarent, also belonging to Arthur. But Mordred stole it and supposedly used it to kill or mortally wound Arthur at the Battle of Camlann."

"Did Arthur die that day as the legend says?" Remus asked.

"No. He was brought here to Avalon. Lancelot soon followed and they lived here together away from the world. But Arthur died ten years later after the birth of his son and daughter. Mordred is also buried here. And Guinevere as well. But no where near Arthur and Lancelot. The founders are also buried on the Isle. My Parents are here. The Brotherhood removed them from Godric's Hollow not long after that night and brought them here."

"Why?" Sirius asked. "I don't understand." He had a sick feeling about the final resting place of his friends being violated.

"The Brotherhood thought that Tom Riddle would dig up Dad's or Mum's bodies and use their bones for some obscure ritual. But Riddle doesn't know the link that Dad has with Arthur. They couldn't risk him doing something, so they brought them here under the cover of night and reburied them here."

"They couldn't risk a link to Avalon or Arthur's bloodline," Gregori stated.

"What do we need to do?"

"The swords are in safekeeping and the Grail is as well."

"I hear a but in there, Eneto," Lucius stated.

"There is an ancient ritual using the Grail. If Tom gets his hands on it.. and taps into the magic of Stonehenge, he can become immortal."

"Does he know this ritual?"

"We believe he does. That's why he's on the hunt for the Grail and the Monk's Scrolls."

"And the Prophecy?" Sirius asked. "Will it still apply to you both if he somehow becomes immortal?"

"If he becomes immortal, Sirius, only Excalibur will destroy him."

Hermione sat forward, "If he somehow gains the swords, what does that mean?"

Gregori answered, "All three swords were forged by the Gods and Goddesses at Stonehenge. Blessed by them in the waters of Avalon."

"How would the power of Stonehenge help bring immortality to Riddle?" Remus asked.

"The ley lines of power have a converging point at Stonehenge. It was one of the reasons it was built there. The power of the stones are strongest at the summer solstice."

"How is the Grail tied to King Arthur? I mean it's a religious artifact based in Christianity." Hermione stated.

Eneto took a breath before explaining."Three Knights were given the quest to find the Grail and bring it back. Avalon said the cup of Christ was actually made in Ancient Britain by Druids. It was used by them for rituals. Drinking from the cup filled with the water of Avalon on the Summer Solstice will bring immortality. But all three swords MUST be in place."

"This is all so confusing," Ron mumbled.

Eneto snorted. Same old Ron. Some things just don't change.

"What of Dumbledore?" Severus asked. "I can assure you, that he will be highly upset. When we return that he will question us harshly. His main goal for the past five years was to find you."

Eneto frowned. There was more. He could feel it. "What Severus?"

"Snape?" Sirius asked.

Severus looked up from the tea cup he was holding. "He has had plans set up for the moment we found you. A Portkey and warded building somewhere only he knows. He planned on making you the perfect weapon against Voldemort anyway he could. Cut off from everyone. He often complained about how you left us all to carry your load of the war.

The windows and table started shaking. Glasses and dishes rattling on the table. Eneto's magic was seeping out.

"ENETO!" Gregori roared. "Control!"

Eneto pushed his chair back roughly causing it to crash back on the floor. "Excuse me," he bit out. Eneto left in a whirl of magic as the main doors slammed open and then closed just as harshly.

"Where has he gone?" Sirius was standing, ready to follow when a hand pulled him back down.

"To the training room. It will not be pretty." Gregori said as he waited for Sirius to again take his seat, then released his hold on the man's arm. "Any mention of that old man using him for a weapon elicits this type of reaction."

"Merlin's beard! Maybe the old fool needs to see a bit of this fury directed his way." Remus commented.

"He has, and it only fueled his plans more." Gregori reached for one of the serving dishes in front of him. Placing some of the meat on his plate, he offered the dish to Sirius, letting his fingers brush against the dark-haired man's as he released his grip.

"Cousin? Are you well?" Draco asked, noticing the flush in Sirius' cheeks.

Severus snorted, and the rest of the table turned their attention to where Sirius sat trying to calmly place some meat on his plate before passing it to Remus. Sirius' eyes flicked up quickly to Draco's face then back to his plate, as he picked up his fork again. He cleared his throat.

"I'm fine. Just a bit warm in here, is all." He immediately tucked into his meal as if he were the only one in the room. Severus snorted again. Lucius raised an eyebrow and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he glanced at Severus. Remus was giving Sirius a very puzzled look, and the rest were smiling and shaking their heads, already accustomed to the Animagus' sometimes eccentric behaviors.

Gregori, in an effort to spare the man any further embarrassment, spoke, drawing everyone's attention to him. "Eneto will be occupied for some time until he has worked out his anger. I suggest you all avail yourselves of the training facilities. One can never be too prepared."

"Mr. Garaguso..." Hermione began....

"Gregori."

Hermione smiled. "Gregori, how do we know when we are needed? How will Avalon or the Brotherhood call us?"

"Before you leave...if you so choose, or when you return to the Castle Hogwarts, you will be wearing a pendant. Only another member of the Brotherhood will be able to see it and recognize it for what it is... and who you are. After breakfast, the Priestess will give them to you. They also act as a portkey and will bring you to Avalon when you speak the activation word."

Eneto pulled the anger back, wrestling with his magic to bring it back under control. He held the broadsword up vertical to his body. Raising it straight up, he brought it back over his shoulder, and swung with all his might and magic toward the sparring dummy that was charmed to dodge him. Before it could moved even a foot, he'd cleaved it in two.

He was breathing hard from the exertion of magic and wielding the sword. His anger was almost gone, but the betrayal still sat like lead in his stomach. After so long, he thought that the feelings would lesson, but they hadn't. When he walked into the Great Hall, all those emotions had come bubbling to the surface of his soul. He'd quickly and efficiently tamped it down, going on with his plan for the day.

But still Dumbledore had done horrible things. Placing him with the Dursley's and not even checking up on him as a child. Not giving a damn. A tool, a weapon was all he was to the old man, and to most of the Wizarding World. The only exception were those who knew him well. They cared for him--deeply. They wouldn't have left him with the Dursley's and they had never treated him like a 'thing', something to be used as a means to an end.

But something was off. He'd felt it while he was inside the Headmaster's office.

Eneto sat down hard on the mat of the training room. All the pieces were there. He just had to put them back together properly. Folding his body into a lotus position, he breathed deeply and began to meditate. Focusing inward, he reached for his magical core, wrapping himself up in his magic like one would a warm blanket. He remembered touching Hogwarts, how she seemed to welcome him home with a touch. A magical caress. A flash of joy.

Then there was something else. Concern. She wanted to tell him something-- something very important. He needed to get into Hogwarts without Dumbledore realizing he was there. He needed to get to the heart of the castle, and let the Founder's wards speak to him.

Eneto opened his eyes when he sensed someone nearby. Black onyx eyes were gazing back at him, reflecting concern.

"Severus," he whispered. "When did you come in?"

"I've been watching you for an hour." Severus' body was humming with the sheer amount of magic Eneto had woven about him. It was an almost tangible entity in the room.

"Something is off with the Headmaster."

Severus frowned. "In what manner? Explain."

Eneto unfolded his body and relaxed into a reclined position. "When did his personality change?"

Severus leaned back on the mat, stretching out his long legs, his slender feet bare. "The Headmaster has always been a harsh taskmaster. He always favored his Gryffindor's, and was harsh with the Slytherin's, though it is subtle. Such as with the Marauder's, and their pranking. The person you should ask is Minerva. She has known him far longer than anyone else."

Eneto stood pulling off his sweaty shirt in the process. Severus eyes following his lover's movements. Eneto had a beautiful lithe toned body. Always moving gracefully in whatever task he partakes in.

"Why do you ask?"

"Lady Hogwarts was trying to tell me something. And everything felt--wrong--in the Headmaster's office yesterday. Actually the whole castle's magic isn't right. Something is there that shouldn't be."

"Such as?"

Eneto stood, relaxing into a familiar position; one that Severus knew well. Moving gracefully to his feet, he moved to stand beside Eneto, leaving a space of about three feet between them. Taking a deep breath, he mirrored Eneto's movements, as they began the graceful dance of T'ai Chi, moving slowly and gracefully from one position to the next. By the time they had moved from Grasping the Birds Tail, through Diagonal Flying and Cloud Hands, to Single Whip and Cross Hands, and finally to Closing, a semblance of peace seemed to rest on Eneto again. Severus smiled to himself as he looked at the younger man. The 103 moves of the T'ai Chi Ch'uan had always had that effect on his lover, when nothing else seemed to work.

"The Dumbledore I remembered, paced. A lot. There seem to be an internal struggle. The magic is off in the castle."

"How do we confirm this?"

"I need to get to the heart and let the Founder's wards speak to me."

"Then we need to return to the Castle."

"Yes, but you need to let Avalon choose your sword first."

"Choose?"

"As the wand chooses the Wizard, Mr. Snape, the sword chooses the Warrior." Eneto did a perfect imitation of Ollivander's voice, then gave Severus a cheeky grin and a wink.

"Ten points from Gryffindor, Mr. Santiago." There was no bite in the snarky voice.

"Ah, Professor Snape, but I was meant to be a Slytherin. I was meant to be one of your snakes."

A dark elegant eyebrow arched at Eneto, in silent inquiry, no less demanding than if Severus had actually spoken.

"I had met Malfoy three times before the hat was put on my head. Hence, I told it, 'Not Slytherin', despite it's insistence that it place me there. And of course, two days later, I sat in your class for the first time."

"And then...."

"Fourth Year happened. I stepped through the portal and embraced my inner Slytherin. It was a matter of survival, after all."

Severus snorted. Yes, now when he thought back, he could see the change in the young man that was once his student. It was a definite improvement.

"Did you know that the Ministry could have stopped my participation in the Triwizard Tournament?"

"How so?"

"All Seventh Years or those above the age to participate, had to have their parents or guardian's permission to do so. Sirius wouldn't have signed any such form, and the Dursley's either. The Goblin's checked. There was no slip posted in my school files."

"You were clearly underage and under trained magically."

"Yes. I wouldn't have made it if hadn't been for Hermione, and Neville...and Dobby."

"And sheer dumb luck." Severus smiled. "To quote a familiar phrase."

"You do realize that it wasn't me that took the gillyweed from your stores, right?"

"Who?"

"Well Dobby got it for Neville. Then he gave it to me."

"What about my ingredients that went missing your Second Year?" He asked, curious now.

"Well... you can blame Hermione for that. She brewed Polyjuice Potion for us."

Severus waited for the complete explanation.

"Remember when everyone thought I was the Heir of Slytherin?" Severus nodded. "Well we thought that Malfoy was. Ron and I, with Hermione's help, got hairs from Crabbe, Goyle, and Bulstrode, and slipped into the Slytherin common room. Only Hermione didn't make it with us. Her hair was a cat hair."

"It was not a misfired spell on Miss Granger's part then that transfigured her in to a cat-woman."

Eneto chuckled at the memory from Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. "No. She was mortified. Though, Ron was fascinated by her tail."

"Third Year? Black's escape? No one would say how."

"Mione. Time turner. Me. Buckbeak. Flying." Eneto frowned. "What I didn't understand at the time, is why Dumbledore believed us, that Pettigrew was alive and Sirius was innocent."

Severus began pacing slowly. Thinking over all the information he had, along with what he already knew. "The wards. They should have alerted him of an Animagius inside the castle. An illegal one and as such when Black entered as well. This is worrisome, Eneto. He controls the wards to some extent."

"Then I must get into the castle within the next few days."

Severus nodded. "How? Without Albus being alerted that you are inside the wards?"

"There is a secondary entrance to the Chamber of Secrets."

"Where is this entrance?"

"Inside the Forbidden Forest, guarded by a Chimera. Being a Parselmouth and an heir of the Founders will give me the chance to get in and to the Heart. Lady Hogwarts will mask my signature as I move about."

"Then you will need a distraction while you do what you need to do." Severus began pacing. "Lupin, Lucius, and I can enter the castle, and pay a visit to the Headmaster while you take care of the problem."

Eneto took a deep breath. He didn't want Severus getting hurt or worse, captured by Dumbledore. If the Headmaster thought that he could use Severus or anyone else against him.....

Now he was thinking like a Hufflepuff, and that just wouldn't do--time for his Slytherin side. "Lets head to the weapon's room before we plan an assault ult on the castle. Sometimes the choosing of the sword can take awhile."

"Lead the way."
