Chapter 8

Disclaimer: I do not own any characters from Potterverse and from Dragonlance and surely I don't earn any money from my fan fiction. Of course, if someone wants to give me money, I would not object.

When Hermione returned to the castle, the sun was already setting. She went to the Gryffindor tower to her Head Girl room. There she found a piece of parchment telling her to come to headmaster's office precisely on 9 a.m. She quickly showered and went to sleep.

Next morning she met Raistlin before the breakfast. She felt her heart skip a beat. Raistlin warmly smiled at her, but someone could notice the cold look in his eyes. Not Hermione, she was preoccupied by rushing to his arms. For one brief moment he looked quite scared, but then he picked himself up and warmly hugged her. Hermione could smell his unique mix of roses and potion ingredients, which lead to surprisingly manly fragrance. Raistlin kissed her on the forehead and asked with hushed voice:

"How is it possible you are back already, little one? I prepared myself for your long absence, but before I should start grieving, I can hold you again."

Hermione felt the first time in her life absolute happiness. No one ever spoke to her with such love, such caring. Certainly not Ron. But she forbade herself to dwell on her dead friends. Now her legs resembled jelly. If Raistlin in this moment asked her to jump from astronomy tower, she would. But she though he's not capable of doing anything so bad. Yes, he might look like some really bad guy with his black robes, white hair and mirror golden eyes, but in the inside he surely is a caring man with a tender heart. Or maybe it is her influence - he was someone as bad as a Death Eater (or so he told her), but she would change him with her pure heart.

"Draco hired some assistant, who would help him with all muggle things and with Czech language. So I'm back here to persuade Professor Snape to give me the teacher' s position."

"Maybe, maybe, we would be colleagues then, Hermione. Headmaster told me he would give me the position of the potion teacher. If I fulfill his requirements, I would see you everyday, my little one."

"Oh, that would be so wonderful, Raistlin!" Hermione rose to her tiptoes and gave Raistlin a long kiss on his mouth. Then she took his hand and went to the table. There sat Professors Flitwick, Hooch and Sprout, who all eyed them with disapproving sight. Raistlin gave them a false friendly face and Hermione positively shined. Then Raistlin told them he is not hungry and went to the potion lab.

"I'm so glad I see you all alive after the battle, professors!"

"Miss Granger. It's good to see at least one brave member of the Golden Trio still here. How do you feel? Are you OK?" Asked madam Hooch.

"Sorry professor, I don't want to talk about Harry and Ron yet. I'm not prepared to cope with their absence. Right now I would like to do some hard work, not to thing over something I could not change."

"I am sorry, Miss Granger. I didn't want to remind you of your loss. Where are you going after Hogwarts?"

"Maybe nowhere, professor Hooch. I hope I would stay here and teach arithmancy. I've already talked with headmaster Snape. He promised to think over it."

"I always said you would end teaching here. Actually I won the bet with Minerva, but sadly she is not here anymore. She liked you very much, almost like a mother. Besides, I think you are doing a big mistake to get involved with Mr. Majere. I don't trust him. There' s something evil and cold in him."

"Although I appreciate your opinion, professor, I'm of age and I can do whatever I like. People are not always what they seem. For example professor Snape has something evil and cold in him as well, or so he definitely seems to students, but he has done a great good to everybody by destroying Voldemort' s horcruxes and fighting on the side of the Order."

"Yes, Severus definitely seems to be evil, but Mr. Majere is evil and that is a very big difference. Miss Granger, just be careful and don't get hurt by him. I have to stop nagging, I sound like a hen-peck. Please, enjoy your breakfast and then think a little over those things."

"Actually, it's almost nine and I have to go to headmaster's office. Have a good day."

Hermione then left the Great Hall with the nosy madam Hooch and went to Headmaster' s office. There she tried for almost ten minutes different passwords, but she was not able to figure the right sweet. At 9.00 the gargoyle leapt aside and Hermione entered the office.

"Welcome, Miss Granger. The password is Dendroaspis polylepis. If you expected my password to be some annoying sweet, you would be really very disappointed. I though you know me better after all these years."

"Now when I thing of it, I really should try poisonous snakes. Black mamba is a very good choice. It somehow suits you, headmaster."

"Flattery brings you nowhere with me, Miss Granger. Actually, it's not necessary anymore. I already decided to give you the position of arithmancy teacher. I added Muggle studies for you to have full-time job. Here is your employment contract. Sit down and read it carefully and when you agree, sign all three copies here."

"Thank you, headmaster."

Hermione sat down and started to read. She tried to look very professionally and mature. Snape came behind her and started to look over her shoulder into the contract. Although he was not touching her, he stood close enough for her to feel his body heat. Hermione was quite surprised, because she started to feel gooseflesh running down her back. Not gooseflesh of fear or of cold, but of arousal. She hoped Snape didn't notice her unprofessional flush and continued her reading. Then Snape pointed with right hand over her shoulder to one sentence. He was touching her now with his chest and he seemed absolutely unaware of her quicken breath. He even "absentmindedly" laid his left hand on her shoulder.

"Miss Granger, I hope you noticed your work with Gryffindor Head of house. If you endure the whole year, I would assign you the Head of Gryffindor next year," he said with a deep silken voice and Hermione actually shrugged. She realized she is not supposed to enjoy other man than Raistlin, but this was not intentional, was it? She inconspicuously leaned a little into Snape' s chest. He was now smirking like a Cheshire cat, but thankfully she didn't see his face. He smelled even better than Raistlin, hmm, mostly sandalwood and something she can name only a man. She could feel his chest vibrate, when he spoke and his breath caressed her neck.

"Yes, headmaster, I did notice," answered Hermione with shaky voice. "˜I did notice your body and I would climax next minute, if you continue,' she though to herself. Snape chuckled, which caused another wave of gooseflesh run down her spine and he returned to his desk. His face was embodiment of innocence and professionalism. Maybe it hardened now a little.

"Another thing, Miss Granger. I'm aware you are involved with Mister Majere. He has a potion task to prove himself skilled in potions. I forbid you to help him with this task. Aside of this "“ do what you two like, it's not my problem. Some of it do only in private, be so kind to the rest of us. Just accept my warning: he's up to something big and bad. He was too curious over my dark mark, when he accidentally saw it yesterday in the lab. Comment "Good idea" isn't what I expect of good boys. He's natural Occlumens, so I can't say for sure, but I'm afraid he's another Dark Lord rising. Don't give him too much information."

"Professor, with all respect," said Hermione, who during Snape' s speech catch her breath and calmed down, "I don't thing he is threat to us. Dark Lord rising sounds very dramatic, but this is real life. He is just a visitor from another world, with desire to learn, not to reign. He is a scholar, not some ambitious Slytherin."

"Miss Ganger, it's entirely your problem to be so blind. When you want to be burned, be my guest. Now give me the contracts and tell the house elves to move your things to your new quarters. Here is the arithmancy curriculum, so be so kind and during this week hand me your lesson plan. Then you can start with details of arithmancy lessons. When you complete arithmancy, I will give you Muggle studies curriculum. Now off with you, by the end of this week I want to see you again with some work done."

"Yes headmaster. Thank you again. Good bye."

Hermione left Snape' s office quite confused. He was his sarcastic bastard self almost whole the time, it was OK, she was used to it. But what was that intermezzo during her reading the contract? It was "¦ erotic. Almost. Definitely. Was he aware of her arousal? She thought so, because she recalled his chuckle.

He must have been using Legillimency on her. She felt a wave of embarrassment. He must think she's a slut now, because she enjoyed his touch and she wanted more of it. Her school crush with that single touch of his hand came back with full force. Is it normal to want Snape' s touches, when she is Raistlin' s girlfriend? She wanted Raistlin too, desperately. Now she was aroused, unsatisfied and confused and she decided to go to Raistlin and do something about it.

Headmaster' s touch was - what is the muggle term? "“ sexual harassment, but she didn't protest. Is it harassment, when both parties want it? The sooner she would be with Raistlin; the sooner could stop all inappropriate ideas of her employer.
