Chapter 7.
A/N
-bla-
The moment Hermione opened the door of potions class, seeing Snape was the only one in there, all she wanted to do was bury her head in those comforting arms, hear soothing words whispered to her ear, cry out her worries to him, kiss him, be comforted by him and… but that was never going to happen, not ever and she knew it more than well
Silently Hermione closed the door behind her and walked across the room to his desk where Snape was sitting, deep in his thoughts.
“Umm… Professor, sir…?”
“Yes love… I mean no! I mean what is it now Miss Granger? Don’t you have classes to go to?”
Snape mumbled, his voice getting harsher by the moment. Hermione couldn’t stop the tears forming to the corners of her eyes. She’d thought that maybe Snape could’ve cared about her when he had asked her to come back, but now she understood how stupid she had been.
“I- I’m sorry, sir. It’s just that you asked me to come back here after I had finished in the bathroom.”
She cast her eyes down on the floor so that Snape wouldn’t notice the tears on her face.
“Oh yes, indeed…”
In is thoughts Snape was somewhere far from his classroom with the Granger girl as now, though.
“So umm… what was it you wanted to talk about, sir?”
It was the formality in her voice that made him come back to the real world.
“Yes Miss Granger. Do you remember what I told you few nights back when I found you wondering around he castle in the middle of the night?”
“Well yes…”
“I told you to tell me if anything was wrong, now didn’t I? And by that Miss Granger I really meant that no matter what is wrong with you, is it either physical or mental, you could come to me and I promise I’ll try my best to help you.”
By the time Snape had finished, Hermione had tears flowing down her cheeks. Not by sadness nor disappointment, but ‘cause she was so touched for the pure caring she could hear in his voice.
Now that the girl was really actually crying, Snape couldn’t stop himself anymore. He arose from behind his desk walking to the girl.
“Now, now. Don’t cry Hermione, it’ll be all right, I promise.”
Saying this, Snape gently embraced her, stroking her bushy hair quietly. They were both quite amazed for Snape using her first name, but even more than amazed, they were about him embracing her. No matter how awkward it was, neither of the two dared to break the beauty that now lied between them.
“Hermione I’ve been so worried about you.”
“Really…?”
Hermione didn’t even bother to lift her head up from his chest, she just mumbled the words on his clothes.
“Yes, really. Hermione, look at me. I’m an old man, your teacher and I know it’s really wrong, but I can’t help it… I care about you so much Hermione, more than I am allowed to. And I do know this must disgust you beyond-“
“Shut up.”
By this Hermione secured her hand in his black locks of hair (Not greasy at all, but actually quite silky) and brushed her lips against his.
