The Caged Songbird

I already said this, but sometimes people don\'t read the bottom notes, so for those who want to know the song was from \"Esca Flowne\" the movie. Not to brag but I have a very pretty voice and sing it all the time and people always say that the song is so pretty so I figured \"Hey I\'ll use it!\" it is talking about a dragon I think, watch the movie and find out! It\'s great! And to Rita, I couldn\'t find that, but I\'ll keep looking for it.

Chapter Eight: And I Swear, I Will Save You

Stomping around his tent, Draco worried his lip. He could barely look at himself he was so ashamed he had gone as far as to cover up the mirror in the corner of the room. It was all he could do, not to go and murder Tom. He couldn\'t fathom how Harry survived all this. Harry was a prince! And he had not only been sold (unbelievable that it happened, really.)But he had been completely abandoned by his best friend! Well, Draco doubt he held or even had the right to hold that title. He had obviously shown he was no real friend to Harry.

He recalled all the brutality he\'d shown Harry. Dear Lord, he had hit Harry! All to find out Harry was being forced, forced to do God knows what with Tom, and all because of his paranoia. The words echoed in his mind: What have I done?

Draco decided it was time for action. He made a list in his head:
1.) Find out why Harry lied.
2.) Apologize
3.) Rescue Harry
4.) Kick. Tom\'s. Ass.

Just when that was settled on his next actions a man came running into Draco\'s tent. He bowed quickly, followed by a rushed \"Ihaveimportantnews, Sir!\"

\"Report.\"Draco commanded, masking his distress, and showing the calculated disguise of a leader.

\"The Ravenclaw leader has been killed by Tom in battle! Their new current Leader is a pacifist, or claims to be. The new leader has requested a duel with you. The winner will determine the prevailing country. I have been sent to ask if you accept these terms. Do you, sir?\"

\"Gladly.\" Draco had full confidence in his dueling abilities, and he would be able to save Harry quicker if the country wasn\'t under attack.

\"The commander will arrive tomorrow at dawn.\"

\"Perfect. Have you seen Harry?\"

\"Ummm . . . Yes,\" he said looking puzzled. He had the impression that the princes didn\'t get along. \". . .He went off into the woods, I believe.\"

\"All right. I am busy, and not to be disturbed till dawn. Dismissed.\"

\"Sir!\" and with a salute the man fled.

Draco stepped out into the cool evening air, inhaling the calm of the dark. Looking up and down the columns of tents, he concluded that no one was around. Draco walked along the still lush half of the forest which was intact. He was deep in the forest about to give up and look elsewhere for Harry, until he heard the sound of splashing water. It sounded very gentile, but Draco had an odd feeling about it. He walked toward the noise and cleared away the gnarled tree limbs and bushes in his way. He soon noted glistening water in front of him. No amount of water or splashing prepared him for what was next though.

There in the middle of the pond was Harry . . . swimming . . . with wings . . . naked. He looked ethereal, with the stars of night illuminating his angelic face and sinful body. Draco instantly grew hard. Eyes widening, He broke out of his trance and was about to announce his presence, and he took a step forward. SNAP! He stepped on an excessively loud twig.
\"Shit.\"

\". . .Draco?\"

Harry hated his wingely blood. It was so annoying. It gave him unwanted attention and all sorts of inconveniences. Most tedious of all was washing and exercising his wings. He hated it. He splashed around in the pond enjoying the cool water in the warm night. At least I get to swim tonight. Thought Harry. The water reflected the sky with stars and a moon dancing on the fluid\'s surface, bouncing with each ripple he made. He was mesmerized by his dreamlike surroundings, just taking in the waters glittering reflection. If only time could-SNAP!

Harry quickly jerked his head at the noise standing up to defend himself unaware of the rather explicit view he was showing of to his spectator. \"Shit.\" Wait, he knew that voice it was . . . no, please no.

\"Draco?\" He said. Draco\'s watching me swim around like a loon. My wings are out. I\'m . . . *gulp* naked. I\'m naked. I\'m naked. Jesus Christ, I\'m naked Harry\'s mind bounced around with that subject more randomly than the rippling water beneath him.

\"Harry, Its not-\"

\"I\'m naked.\" Harry\'s little mantra vocalized by accident.

\"Yes, Harry. That you are.\" And with that Draco turned around, his back to Harry.

Draco unbuttoned his overcoat and held it out, without turning around

\"Here. Sorry, I wasn\'t peeking. I swear.\"

\"Why would you peek at me anyway?\" Harry said not quite understanding. \"Oh, Thank you.\" He slid on the jacket which luckily covered down to his knees.

\"I need to talk to you.\"

\"About what?\" Harry asked slightly scared, before he could think, \"You aren\'t going to hit me again, are you?\" just popped out.

\"No! Good heavens no! Not a day will ever go by that I will not regret that. I\'m so sorry. I didn\'t know about . . . your problem, but I do now. And I swear, I will save you.\"
