Authors Notes
This was my first attempt at Fan Fiction. As the first story I have ever written, it is not the best work I have done. That said, I should add that Severus is NOT an easy character to write. It is hard to always keep him as Snarky as JKR does. If anyone disliked my story, I am sorry. I can\'t please everyone, and as I said, it is my first attempt.
Also, just a personal note to those that have given the less than complimentary reviews. Teressa, I did not erase your review to try to make myself look bad, or insult you. I erased it, as in making note that I had fixed the errors you pointed out, and I was thankful that you did it.
As far as my erasing one of Nightmares Reviews... My reasons for that are as follows...
I too live in the West.... Texas, as a matter of fact... and also, have horses... One is just 14 hands high... but another is 17 hands... so I am not some dumb person that knows nothing about horses... I also must say... My Hagrid Horse, and Severus horse are NOT based in fact... Yes, he was bigger than average... but this is HP for heavens sake... It isn\'t like that is based in fact.
Another thing about me. I have a standard, regular, boring name... BUT I also have my Native American APACHE name, and it is one I wear with pride.. My great Grandfather had a plain old Christian name given to him as well, but he never used it. I never mentioned my Native American character\'s clothes until she went to Hogwarts... and as she is a Shaman, and she is in Hogwarts, why should I have to dress her in plain old jeans, and a western shirt? That is a bad stereotype!
It is you opinion of course, and you are welcome to it, but I just thought I should let you know that not all reality is the one you are familiar with.... Of course, I must also add at this point that if my strory does not fall into a category that someone enjoys, then they, by all means Do NOT have to read it. It isn\'t like I lead them to it, stick their nose in it, and say, \"READ THIS or else.
Also... I really find it interesting that I never got any negative reviews until AFTER I had people Beta the story. I mean.. I was trying to make it more enjoyable, and instead, I get reviews complaining about the changes I was encouraged to make? Ok... so did that mean I should have just left it as it was? Hmmm... Very interesting indeed.
BTW... It wasn\'t that I was trying to erase Nightmares review... I was trying to find a way to respond to the review personally. because as a native american that raises horses I took offense to the presumption that I do not know anything about them... Or about how Native Americans are. I know many NA\'s that choose to spend a good deal of their time living as their ancestors. I actually know a certain man that has 168 acres of land.. On that land, he grows his own crops, wears his handmade clothes, and does not even hardly set foot in town. It is his choice, and it is just wrong to assume that all Native American\'s have succombed to the Modern way of life...
