Duplicity of Friendship came about way before HBP. I love plots and Ms. Rowlings’ new book has only added fuel to my imagination. All I can say is that the title comes from the idea that your friends/ family may be your albatross and your enemy your savior on many levels. If you are reading my other story The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend you will see similar ideas. I wanted to explore in particular to conflicts between Severus/Harry, Ron/Draco, Draco/Harry, and Ron/Severus. After all there is a thin line.
Also, I wanted to flesh out Lily Potter. No one talks about this woman. I was so excited to hear something about her in the HBP. I can’t wait for the next installment. She sounds incredible on so many levels. All we hear about is James this and James that. I want to know about LILY! I want to see the Lily in Harry. I think Severus would, too.
Oh, and not to forget the ladies of Hogwarts. I love Luna Lovegood. To me she represents everything eccentric and alive about the Wizarding World. And yes, she and Draco will get together in both of my stories, but in different ways.
Plus, we can’t forget about the formidable Narcissa Malfoy. Frankly, she has been a joy to create. I can’t wait to see how JKR sees her, but my version will do for now.
