Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Right now, at this very moment, Draco was incredibly grateful to his Godfather for insisting that he stayed with him. He couldn’t believe the werewolf was here. Werewolves were savage, dangerous creatures who should…. He stopped that train of thought, remembering it was Lucius’ opinion and not his. He’d been doing this a lot today.
After breakfast, Severus had left him alone, telling Draco to amuse himself while he tried to see what he could do about Draco’s possessions. As it had been a glorious July morning Draco decided to go out into the garden and do a bit of sunbathing, a pastime Lucius had always forbade him from doing, claiming it would ruin his aristocratic complexion. While sunbathing Draco resolved to take a good look at himself and rethink some of ‘his’ ideas and opinions so that he destroyed everything about himself that wasn’t actually him. He was going to discover the real Draco Malfoy.
Draco was in the garden the entire morning and wound up deciding that a lot of what he had previously taken was in fact merely opinion, or to be more precise, Lucius’ opinion. He had decided he didn’t agree with them, or at the very least, didn’t have enough information to form a valid opinion and he didn’t want to jump to any conclusions anymore. Some of the opinions that were changed were Draco’s opinion on muggles: he didn’t have enough information to say anything on this fact but he would keep an open mind. Granger: she seemed all right and being muggle born certainly hadn’t put any sort of dampener on her magically ability. The Weasleys: they were poor, but money certainly wasn’t anything in Draco’s eyes anymore, and they were very loyal. Then there was Harry Potter, the Golden boy himself.
Now there were some strong opinions, although his opinion of Harry was a very easy one to sort out. It was funny though, how it was immediately Harry in his head and not Potter and yet Granger and not Hermione, but then again, Draco thought, you can only mentally scream a name at the point of climax, when you wank off, so many times before it sticks. Anyway, he was definitely going to attempt friendship with Harry and hopefully more, although he’d have to take things one-step at a time. Maybe he should try to get in contact with Harry and ask if they could meet up at some stage so he could apologise. He would also have to try to get along with the rest of the Golden trio, Granger won’t be too difficult but something told him it wasn’t going to be easy to get into the weasel’s good books. Oh well, he was going to have to give it his best shot if he ever wanted anything to happen with Harry.
After Draco had finished sunning himself, rethinking and going through all the things he wouldn’t have to do now that Lucius had no control over him: like marrying Pansy Parkinson, yuck! It was now lunchtime and Draco was pleased with himself and the new self he’d discovered and made his way inside to find Snape.
It wasn’t long after lunch that Dumbledore arrived telling him there had been a raid on the Manor but all of the death eaters had already left. They had, however, been able to collect Draco’s belongings including his clothes, books, his broomstick and of course, his homework, and that they were all at 12 Grimwald Place, the house he’d be staying in for the rest of the holidays. Snape paled and insisted that he stayed with Draco.
“We’ll have to ask the new owner if that is all right when we get there.”
“Excuse me, Professor, but who is the new owner?”
Dumbledore said nothing, he simply smiled that twinkly-eyed smile that almost screamed ‘I know something you don’t and I’m not going to tell you.’ Draco let the subject drop.
Now he guessed that it was either Harry or Lupin that owned this house, it was hard to tell as they both looked as shocked as each other did to see that Snape and he were there. He hoped it was Harry, who seemed to have had a bit of a make over since he’d last seen him. Instead of ugly, drab clothes that were at least 10 sizes to big for him, Harry was now sporting a pair of dark denim, low rise jeans and a tight black t-shirt which showed off all of his beautifully defined chest and shoulder muscles. God Harry was hot, he was so glad he’d opted for his robes as he was currently sporting one hell of an erection.
