Authors' Notes - "Giving"

Rape is always a crime, and sex should NEVER be coerced. Sometimes when someone has a long history of sexual abuse they learn that it is easier to give in then to say no. Domestic abuse should never be tolerated. Verbally, emotionally, physically, or sexually abusing someone you claim to love or care for is a crime, and should be treated as such.

This work of fiction was never meant in any way to attempt to reinforce those myths or to try to romanticize the notions of rape, sexual abuse or domestic violence and abuse. Consensual, loving partners can choose to share themselves sexually however they wish, and dependant on one’s past sexual experience, one may, or may not choose a certain way to act when one is interacting with a partner, but it should be exactly that…your CHOICE. There is no Voldemort in the real world, no magic to control you, and excuses like the “devil made me do it” shouldn’t, and don’t, excuse such violent behavior. These crimes are about power, not sex, and certainly not love.
