Hermione opened that book that she had propped up on her right knee. She was sitting in the Gryffindor common room lounging in a plush red chair. Both her and Ron were supposed to be reading this book but as soon as the name Draco Malfoy came out of the headmaster’s mouth Ron wanted no part of it. Hermione had seen this relationship coming for a long time. Either Ron chose to ignore the sexual tension that radiated off Malfoy and Harry when they met or his was oblivious to it. Hermione thought for a moment. Yes, she concluded, Ron was oblivious to it. “I better start calling him Draco” thought Hermione about the blonde haired Slytherin. She opened the black book and began to read.
Chapter 1: What is the Strages Sanguinantis?
In order to understand the rare species of the Bloodthi Car Carnage Antigua, you must first know what an Antigua is. The Antigua is the distant cousin of the vampire. This species came about when a Vampire named Loretta Abnosh mated with Jason Calcutta a Werewolf. Due to this mixing of blood the first Antigua was born and was known as Chelsea Calcutta. As the years grew she mated with Kline Stanton a Werewolf with Elven lineage. This process continued until the Antigua race was well enough to stand on its own.
Like Vampires and Werewolves during the day, Antiguas look just like humans. The most common coloration for male Antiguas is black or brown hair and various eye color shades. Usually, the most dominant male through the ages has had black hair and green eyes.
Hermione let out a gasp but continued to read.
The most common coloration for the female Antigua is blond or red hair. The eye coloring for females is more specific and the colors are grey/silver, green, or dark brown. Whatever the color of the hair is what the body fur color will be. Due to the werewolf blood in the Antigua they are too able to transform into the creature of the night. Their form is the same as the werewolf except with two large wings protruding from its back. They can walk upright, run on all fours, or fly. For some reason unknown the Antigua does not need blood to survive. The only desire for blood comes when the Antigua meets its mate and claims him or her by drinking their blood. It is only the blood of their mates that they will drink.
The rage of an Antigua is unmatched. In fits of rage it goes through a temporary insanity and only thinks of killing the one responsible for its anger unless it is its mate. As a warning, never touch, insult, or harm an Antigua’s mate. You may only touch the mate in a friendly manner if the Antigua has given you permission. Also, never provoke an Antigua by any means especially by trickery.
The number of Antiguas reached 100,000 during the 17th and 18th century but for various reasons the race started to decline. Muggles began to hunt them down blaming them for the disease, famine of their lands, and for supposedly driving people insane. This of course was not true but the odds were stacked against them. The slaughter of the Antiguas diminished their number to a mere 1,000 and this caused mating to become a problem. This took another 500 Antiguas out of the equation.
When the Wizarding World learned of the careless slaughtering of the Antiguas many wizards and witches rushed in to help. Many of the rescuers fell in love with the Antiguas. This gave birth to a stronger race of Antiguas and the race began to grow but only reached up to 600. In the 19th century, when the slaughtering of racerace had stopped, many Antiguas found themselves falling in love with Muggles. The Antiguas that mated with Muggles created a different type of Antigua known as the Strages Sanguinantis. One would think that the addition of non magical blood would began to take over the magical blood that had been instilled in the Antigua race for centuries but, it didn’t. The new addition allowed the Antigua descendants to become stronger and have a heightened sense of emotion. Basically, they were now more susceptible to wearing their emotions on their sleeves.
The Strages Sanguinantis are rare because it skips through the generations. One Antigua might be a carrier meaning that it has right combination to be a Strages Sanguinantis but for some reason it just didn’t become one and then there is the full blooded Strages Sanguinantis.
In the past many a mate has died due to the rage of the Strages Sanguinantis. The emotions this Antigua feels is tied with his mate and causes bodily harm. But thanks to Mother Nature the mate was able to build an immune system that helped him or her heal faster than normally to stay alive. This is their mate’s defense mechanism. More of this will be discussed in Chapter 2.
Hermione bookmarked the page that she left off at and closed the book. She placed it on the chair and walked over to the window. The full moon shone brightly as it basked her in its glowing rays. “Oh Harry, I accept you for who you are and even if you don’t accept me, I can still live with that” said Hermione before a tear slid down her face.
Kiana watched the red haired girl cry from a distance. She had heard the news about Draco and wanted so badly to check up on him but she knew that now wasn’t the right time. She quietly tiptoed past the Gryffindor and slowly opened the portrait door. She eyed the Fat Lady curiously making sure that she was asleep. Months of sneaking out to see Draco and Blaise had taught her how to move without making a sound and to blend in with her surroundings making it as if she were invisible. When she got to the Slytherin portrait of a snake she whispered the password. The portrait never told because anyone that Draco trusted was immediately accepted into the fold. She crept into the room that Blaise and Draco use to share until Draco became a Prefect. Now Blaise had a room to himself.
“What took you so long?” he asked. Kiana gasped. “You may think you’re quiet but I know how you move” said Blaise before turning around and looking at her. The Gryffindor smiled and made her way over to his bed. “I just came to tell you not to go see Draco tonight” said Kiana. “Why?” asked Blaise. “Because Harry is with him tonight. You heard what happened and if anything we might stumble upon those two in a compromising position” replied Kiana. If it weren’t dark she would have seen the Slytherin grimace. Kiana satisfied with the visit began to walk away. A hand grabbed onto hers before she could go any further. “You came all the way to the dungeons to tell me that” said Blaise. “Yeah, basically” said Kiana. “Well, what if I don’t what you to go” said Blaise. “It isn’t your decision to make” the girl replied. “I think it is” said Blaise before grabbing the startled Gryffindor and pulling her into a kiss.
