Twin Link

Chapter: 8

By: Bree McGregor

It was finally Halloween day. The dance was that evening, and the halls of Hogwarts were full of excitement. Everyone was talking about their costumes and exchanging charm tips. Hermione was rethinking her costume. At first she was going to go all out and play it up, with a stuffed bra two sizes too big and a cheesy outfit… but her seduction idea of Severus canceled that plan. He would only see it for the childish act it was.

So instead, she pulled out her Wonder Push-Up Bra that her mother had insisted she get before returning to school. “Well, you must use what you have, dear,” Mrs. Granger had said, “or no one will see what you have to offer.”

She knew her mother meant well, but Hermione wanted someone to like her for her mind, not her body. Therefore, she never wore the thing. But now that she was posing as someone who would wear such a thing, it felt more appropriate then stuffing her bra. Besides, Ginny was right; she wasn’t all that flat herself.

Hermione then put on the dress she had borrowed from Lavender. It was a scarlet red tight-fitting mini-dress. Everyone knew that was Millicent’s favorite color, and with that girl the shorter the better. The dress had a sheer skirt that wrapped around the waist, that gave movement to the dress. Looking at herself in the full-length mirror, she had to say she felt very uncomfortable with the new more pronounced cleavage.

She charmed her hair to try to give it a darker look with more waves then frizz. In the end, she still looked like Hermione with too much make-up and a dress that would scandalize any self-respecting Gryffindor. Nevertheless, the point of who she was supposed to be, went across well.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Severus looked at himself in the mirror. It was not too hard to dress like his brother; he had a flare for transfiguration that most people didn’t know about. He also knew he could pull off his brother easily; they used to do it a lot as kids.

Truth be told, he wasn’t thinking about his brother. At that moment, he was thinking about Hermione. He would not let himself be alone with her for too long; he was not sure if he could be trusted, not after that kiss.

‘She wanted it, too. She took over, if you remember right,’ that demon in the back of his head said.

‘She is a child. She does not know what she wants,’ Severus answered

‘Ahh yes, but she kisses like a woman and has the body to match.’ The demon persisted.

Severus shook his head to clear it from the thoughts that ran through it, and from the laughter of the demon that resided there. Then he left for the dance.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The party was in full swing when Hermione arrived. The Great Hall was all decorated for Halloween with live bats and skeletons for waiters. Ron and Harry saw Hermione first, and the shock on their faces was worth it all.

“WOW, Hermione!” yelled Harry and Ron in unison, to the point where everyone in hearing distance stopped to look at her.

Feeling a bit out of place, she walked up to them. “Hi,” she said a little anxiously.

“Hey, you look great, Hermione! Better then Millicent could ever dream!” Seamus said as he joined them.

“Thanks,” she said shyly, as they all made their way to the punch and snack table.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Severus Snape was leaning against the wall with his arms folded and one leg braced against the wall.

Posing as his brother was not hard; the hard part was trying to keep the women away from him. It only took a few moments for them to realize that he was the Dreaded Potions Master, not the Playboy of Hogwarts. He was quite amazed by how many students dressed like him. Albus said he couldn’t take house points for personal retaliation, so instead, he would make his students suffer by giving a pop quiz next week! Since he was dressed posing as his brother, he allowed himself a small smile at the thought.

Then he heard Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley call out to Hermione. Looking over, he saw her — it felt like someone hit him in the chest with an Unforgivable. He could not breathe, but most of all, he could not look away. She was a vision, in deep scarlet red. That dress left nothing to the imagination, not to mention what her robes had been hiding for the first part of the year.

Severus was happy. He just kept to the shadows and watched her most of the night. She laughed, danced, and talked with her friends. Then toward the later part of the evening, he noticed that Hermione was gone, and so was Sachiel!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hermione was getting bored at the party. She could not find Severus anywhere. The room was too dark, and all she saw was Sachiel Snape leaning against the north wall watching her. She wasn’t creeped out like she thought she would be. She didn’t go up to Sachiel because she knew how angry that would make Severus, if he was even here! He was probably down in his dungeon working on some potion. She just figured she would have to go down there and seduce him on his own turf. For that reason, she left the party, knowing no one would take notice of her actions.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Sachiel Snape was wearing his brother\'s outfit, the one he had *borrowed* on his first few days here. He sat back and watched everyone dance and laugh. No one approached him, which was something new and not all together unpleasant. All the attention he got from the female population of Hogwarts could be tiring at times.

Halfway thought the evening, he saw her — the object of his desire and lust. The need he felt for her was now growing ten-fold, as he watched her dancing with her friends. She was wearing a tight mini-dress of scarlet red, her breasts high and firm; who would have guessed that such a vision was hidden under her school robes. Desire shot through him like nothing he had ever felt. He had to have her, and by all means, he would tonight!

He got up slowly and left the party, knowing that she would want to go for a walk soon. He had to find her alone… all alone.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hermione slowly made her way toward the dungeon. As she walked through the outer hall that led to the stairway down to the dungeon, she saw a shadow move forward.

“Professor, I was just coming down to talk to you.”

“Really? And why would you want to do that?” His voice was cold and threatening, nothing like when they last talked.

She took a step forward and noticed that he kept in the shadows… why?

“Are you alright, Professor?” Her voice shook a bit. She had a feeling something wasn’t right, but still his words hurt her; it was like he didn’t care about her anymore. That, with his lack of wanting to be alone with her, made it not too hard for her to come to the wrong conclusion.

“That is none of your concern.” Again he spoke in the hard-as-ice voice.

“Well then, I’ll leave you,” she said with her chin up, trying to keep her voice steady. “But before I leave, can you please tell me something?”

“What, you foolish girl!”

“Umm, I can’t quite remember — was that wormwood or worms wart that you mix with asphodel?”

“What!” he said in shock. “I don’t have time for this!”

She noticed his voice catching, and she decided to press it.

“Okay, how about Wolfsbane? Would that work with...”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Severus was walking very quickly down the darkened hall when he heard two voices talking — one cold and cruel, the other soft and hurt.

“That is none of your concern.” He recognized Sachiel, speaking in a hard-as-ice voice.

“Well then, I’ll leave you.” It was her. He knew she was trying to keep her voice steady, as she continued to speak. “But before I leave, can you please tell me something?”

“What, you foolish girl!” Sachiel sounded angry. Severus was confused by this. He knew his brother wanted her, so why not seduce her instead of insulting her… Then it became clear to him. ‘Sachiel is dressed as me... turning her away so she would run into his arms!’

“Umm, I can’t quite remember — was that wormwood or worms wart that you mix with asphodel?”

\'CAN’T REMEMBER — that’s first year stuff,\' Severus thought to himself. Then he heard Sachiel’s shocked voice and knew what the girl was up to. The level of her intelligence rivaled none. ‘Why did that Sorting Hat put her in Gryffindor anyway?’

He noticed Sachiel starting to lose his cool, he never liked to lose the upper hand with anyone. ‘It\'s time to step in.’

“Really, Sachiel. What she is quoting you is first year material. Don’t tell me you have forgotten already?” he said as he walked out of the shadows behind Hermione.

Hermione turned around so fast she almost tripped. Severus’s quick reflexes prevented her from falling, as he grabbed her arm to do so. Even though she was now upright, he did not let go of her arm.

Hermione looked up at Severus, taking in his appearance, and then looked at Sachiel. She saw they were dressed as each other. ‘So they thought of each other as their nemesis,’ Hermione thought to herself.

“Severus,” Sachiel spoke, his face full of hatred for the man before him who yet once again had taken his prize from him.

“Sachiel,” Severus’s voice was smug and superior, and that sent Sachiel into a rage. Sachiel lunged for his brother’s throat! Severus pulled Hermione with him as he casually sidestepped his brother’s attack.

“Really, brother,” Severus spoke calmly. “You must learn not to telegraph your actions before you do them.” With that, Severus turned and went down the stairs to his dungeon, with Hermione in tow. He didn’t care where Sachiel went now.

Once they were in his quarters, Severus had second thoughts about being alone with her. She was still in that tight red dress. He was having trouble not looking at her, and when he did, he didn’t know where to look without being indiscreet.

“Severus?” her soft voice cut through his thoughts.

“I think I better take you to your dorm,” he said as he headed back to the door, but before he got one step away from her, she stopped him by placing a hand on his chest.

“But I came down here to talk to you,” she said softly.

“That is not wise… I’ll take you to your room now.”

“You\'re probably right,” she said, one hand slowly moving up his chest as her other hand found its way into his hair.

“Hermione…” He tried to sound stern, but he could not, with what her hands and her closeness were doing to his senses.

“Don’t ‘Hermione’ me, Severus. You have been avoiding me for far too long… why?” she said the last word breathlessly, with her lips only mere centimeters from his lips.

“Because this is not right. You are a student, I am your teacher. This cannot go any further.” He was visibly shaking now. All he wanted to do was take her in his arms and kiss the living daylights out of her.

“If it\'s so wrong, why does it feel right?” She pressed her body closer to him, trying to break his resolve.

“I don’t know, Hermione. I don’t know,” he said with a moan, then gave himself into the inevitable and kissed her.

Hermione was in heaven. He grabbed her by the hips and brought her flush against him. She could feel every part of him, as she knew he could feel every one of her curves pressed close to him. There was something said about sexy clothes when you had someone to wear them for. She had to remember to thank both Lavender and her mother on this one.

He deepened the kiss, and she opened her mouth to him readily. He devoured her as if he was a drowning man and she was his salvation.

She moaned into his mouth and started to sway seductively against him. She could feel his heat and his growing hardness. This is what she wanted more than anything!

Severus felt her moving against him. He knew he was about to lose control, and then he saw the unhappy face of the Headmaster looking though the green flames of the fireplace. He was so caught up in Hermione that he didn’t hear the floo activate.

“Sachiel Snape!” roared Dumbledore. “Did I NOT tell you to keep your hands off the students!!!”

Severus was glad they were way on the other side of the room and the Headmaster didn’t have his glasses on.

“Go with me on this one,” he whispered to Hermione. She gave him a look of understanding.

“Well, Headmaster, that you did,” Severus said, pulling off his twin brother’s drawl perfectly.

“I will see you in my office, first thing tomorrow morning! And you, Miss Granger — I would like to speak with you in my office immediately!”

“Y-yes, Professor Dumbledore.”

With that, Dumbledore’s head vanished from the floo.

“What do we do now?” she asked, frightened.

“You say you thought it was me again.”

“But wouldn’t that hurt you?! You’re still a teacher!”

“True, but this can work in our favor of getting rid of the man. Tell the Headmaster as much of the truth as you feel you can. Just say that you thought It was me dressing up as my brother for Halloween. Trust me, tell him as much of the truth as you can… Now go, he will be expecting you to be there by now.”

She stepped away from him and walked toward the door.

“Oh, one more thing. It would really help if you acted as if you were mad at me… a few threats of bodily harm may help with this deception.\"
