Confessions and Ideas
Draco watched as Kyrie stormed off. I fucked up tremendously. Should I let her cool off? Yeah, I guess I should. Draco walked off towards the Slytherin common room. Why am I just a fuck up? I can’t seem to do anything right. Draco felt the prick of tears in the corners of his eyes.
“Draco!” A voice screamed through Draco’s thoughts. “What did you do to Cara?”“Kyrie? We got into a fight, and she ran off.”“The truth, Draco!” Blaise held a look of fire and passion. “And if you don’t deliver on the truth, I will not hesitate to hex you so hard that even Cara will be frightened.”“Why do you care about her so much?”Blaise turned away for a moment and sighed heftily. “When she was twelve or thirteen, she studied at a muggle music academy in Paris, however she couldn’t afford the tuition. She would play in the streets and small cafes for money. My mother and I came up on her playing her cello on a street corner. I was so fascinated by the way she played and the emotion she poured into her music, I apparated to Paris everyday to watch her play. She was always so happy when she played, and I always wanted protect that smile. My mother had interest in her as well seeing as both her mother and my mother were very close friends. She said Cara would do well in our family because she didn’t have one. I never understood what she meant until one day I found out that her cousin were sexually and physically abusing her. I was so mad that people would do that to someone so innocent and cheerful. When I went to introduce myself and ask her to join our family, she had left Paris and had gone to the U.S.”“I don’t understand. Why did you feel this sense to protect her?”“I always wanted a little sister. I thought she would be my adopted sister.”“Blaise, your mother can still adopt her. She’s underaged. Technically Snape isn’t her legal guardian.”“He isn’t?”“He emancipated her when he had to return to Hogwarts.”Blaise nodded his head as if he was thinking of what Draco had said. “Maybe.”“Blaise, I’m sorry.”“Damn it, Draco. What do you do?”Draco looked down sullened. “I lost my temper.”Blaise slammed Draco against the wall. “Do you know what that could do to someone’s psyche, Drake? She trusted you, and you fucked it up.”“I know, Zabini. I alway fuck up. I really regret it, okay?” Draco began to raise his voice.“Are you going to apologize?”“When I find her.”“She’s in the room of requirement.” Blaise walked off, grinding his teeth. Draco recognized this as a sign of pure frustration.Draco walked toward the room of requirement. He could feel his heart beat in his throat. He, Draco Malfoy, was going to apologize sincerely. Draco hadn’t ever apologize sincerely to anyone and was unsure how to apologize sincerely. What should he say? What if she didn’t forgive him? Would he snap again? He however snapped up to see Professor Flitwick, Kyrie, and Professor McGonagall talking.“Do you think that’s a good idea?” Flitwick looked frantically between the two girls. “He could blow the entire school away.”McGonagall was about to speak when Kyrie stuck her hand out and stared straight at Draco. “We should let him decide.”“Mister Malfoy, we are tasking Miss Snape with an important mission. She will be attending a muggle school after her studies here to learn about the culture and gain allies and knowledge that would help when Voldemort returns.” McGonagall laid a hand on Draco’s shoulder. “We want you to go to the school with her.”“Why should I?”Kyrie looked at him with a ferocity few could manage. “Potter.” Her tone was deadly monotonous, and Draco had genuine fear.“I don’t fear Potter. If he takes you, I know you wouldn’t cheat on me.”“I didn’t think we were dating, Malfoy. After the little display you had on the way to Snape’s class, you made it quite clear you didn’t want to date me.” Draco lunged forward, kissing Kyrie violently. “I do want to date you, but I refuse to go to a muggle school.”Kyrie looked up at McGonagall. “I believe plan B should be enacted.”“I will ask Mister Weasley. Good day, Mister Malfoy." McGonagall and Flitwick walked away together. "That's a shame you don't want to go. The muggle world is quite interesting." Kyrie smirked at Draco amused. “We would have attended military school. Guns and explosives. It would have been great."Draco looked confused. "What are guns?"Kyrie looked shocked by Draco’s confession. “You’re kidding me. You don't know what a gun is?"" I'm not a muggle." Draco frowned at Kyrie. "Do Purebloods not learn about muggles? Like at all?” “We have Muggle Studies, but most purebloods don’t take it.”Kyrie had her mouth agape when McGonagall arrived with Ron Weasley. “Draco is also attending.”“Is that a good idea?”Kyrie looked at Ron’s face. Frustration and impatience plagued it, but not anger. “No, not a good idea. It’ll be a great idea. Did you say that we will need to attend a few classes at university?” “Yes.”Kyrie nodded and looked dead straight at Ron. “Do you need muggle clothes?”Ron tightened his jaw, and he eyed Kyrie suspiciously. “No.” It was crisp and terse, a style speech that Draco only perceived as rude.“Then I’ll debrief quickly. We will be attending three classes at university: Geometric Calculus, Basic Engineering, and General Chemistry. Afterwards we will attend military school for three to four classes. Each of you will be specializing in either reconnaissance or combat, while I will specialize in explosive manufacturing and bomb diffusion. Though we each will have a basic understanding of each, it would be best if we namely stuck to our speciality. Draco, I believe it would be best to specialize in reconnaissance.”“Why should I be in reconnaissance?” Draco huffed, staring at the smaller Slytherin.“Because Weasley can’t just waltz up to the Dark Lord and find everything out. I can’t, because I have a natural pull to dark magic. It would be easiest for you to infiltrate the Dark Lord’s circle.”“He’s not going to return yet.”“He’ll return by the beginning of next year.”“How do you know?” Ron now spoke hesitantly. He appeared curious. “Powerful dark witches and wizards can sense when other dark witches and wizards are around. However those senses are heightened when a member of family is involved in powerful dark magic.”“Snape?”“No, Riddle. I am a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin just as Riddle is. However, my great grandfather exhibited much darker magic while Riddle’s mother was presumably a squib.”Draco pondered this information for a bit. “Your mother was a half-blood.”“The daughter of a half-blood professor at Durmstrang and Morfin Gaunt’s son.”“Have you tried any dark arts?” Ron looked terrified at Kyrie’s story. “A few times.”Draco smirked at Kyrie. “How did it go?”“Small hexes and curses are a little unpredictable. More powerful curses seem to work better. It’s very difficult for a powerful witch or wizard to control smaller amounts of magic, which is why I frequent wandless magic.”
Draco realized that this information could prove helpful in the future. His father would praise him, or Draco could exploit this for favor. However once Draco looked at Kyrie, he felt conflicted. On one hand, Draco knew that this secret of Kyrie’s would be welcomed with praise from dark wizards, but it would permanently damage his relationship with Kyrie.
