Snape's Room in the Basement
Chapter 7
Ginny and Snape are busted. Can she get Hermione to understand...
Thanks so much for all your reviews. You guys are awesome!
Ginny stood by the window staring out into the night. She heard the bedroom door open and close softly behind her.
"Are they back yet?" She asked her reflection, not ready to turn around and face her friend.
"No." Hermione whispered softly. "No word yet either. I cleaned up the bathroom." Her voice trailed off quietly.
Ginny nodded her head. She was waiting for the inevitable and she didn't have to wait long.
"Ginny." Concern colored Hermione's voice. "What's going on between you and Professor Snape?"
Ginny turned and stared at Hermione, her face cold and impassive. "We're friends."
"Friends?" Hermione repeated slowly.
"That's what I said. Friends." Ginny's voice was defensive.
"I saw you kissing him. And why was his bedroom door open for you? Ginny, I went down to check, before I came up. It's shut and locked tight now.
Ginny shrugged her shoulders. She had wondered about that too. "I don't know. It's just always been open whenever I go down there."
"How many times have you been to his room?" Hermione sounded shocked.
"A few."
"Are you and Professor Snape having sex?"
Ginny's bitter laughed shocked Hermione almost as much as her words. "Not yet." She smiled at the shocked look on Hermione's face. "And not due to any lack of effort on my part."
"I don't understand." Hermione was shaking her head in confusion. "If he's trying to seduce you." Her voice trailed off again.
"No you don't understand." Ginny said, her eyes flashing. "You don't understand at all. He's not trying to seduce me. I've been trying to seduce him for the past 3 weeks."
"3 weeks?"
Ginny nodded her head curtly. "He seems to have remarkable restraint." She sighed sadly. "I think he had finally given in when…" She wiped her hand across her eyes. "When he was called away."
Ginny sat down heavily on the bed and put her head in her hands. "Is he going to die, Hermione?" Her voice sounded weary.
Hermione sank down on the bed next to her and placed her arm around her shoulders. "Are you in love with him?"
Ginny shrugged her shoulders. "No. Maybe. I don't know. Probably not." She turned to her friend and stared into her eyes, silently pleading with her to understand. "This isn't about love."
"Then why?"
"Because if I die tomorrow or next week or next year I want to know what it feels like to be with a man."
"Ginny." Hermione said slowly. "You're not going to die."
"Are you sure of that Hermione?" Ginny asked, her voice tense. "Because the last time I checked we're involved in a war."
Hermione opened her mouth to argue, but closed it again because she knew there was truth behind what Ginny was saying. Until Voldermort had been defeated, all of their lives were in jeopardy.
"What about Harry?"
Ginny sighed heavily. "Harry is a sweet boy. But he's just a boy." Her face lit up with a beautiful smile. "Professor Snape makes me feel…" She paused, unable to put into words. "Well like I've never felt before. Please just try to understand, Hermione."
Hermione hugged her redheaded friend tightly. "I understand and I'm sure he'll be just fine." Sitting up she smiled wickedly. "Now. Tell me everything. Have you seen him naked?"
