Ch 7
Anita rolled her eyes at her daughter's antics. She watched as her daughter sat next to the blonde boy. Out of the corner of her eyes Anita saw the other professors giving her looks of suspicion. So her daughter ended up a Slytherin, big deal. There was nothing inherently evil about being cunning or ambitious. A professor with oily back hair, a large hooked nose, and onyx eyes caught Anita's eyes. The professor gave her a nod as if saying, "I don't think you or your daughter are bad." Anita returned the head nod.
Recently Europe had declared Vampires and Lycanthropes as legal citizens. Turns out the Wizarding world viewed these creatures as "dark" or evil. Now they were pretty much forced to change their perception. Anita had been contacted by an Albus Dumbledore to teach at the European school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hogwarts. Due to the change of laws, he needed someone to teach tolerance of the previously known as "dark creatures". The Headmaster had also thought it would be a good idea to use Anita for the "light" side. Turns out the European Wizarding world was in the middle of a war. Brilliant.
There were two sides; the dark , and the light. Voldemort vs. Dumbledore. Anita had her suspicions of both sides and of both people. The Vampire Council agreed with her. Jean-Claude was going to be spying on the light through her and Belle would meet with the leader of the other side. She would join a meeting.
Dumbledore's purpose for her was to attract lycanthropes and vampires to their side. However, no matter how well worded his campaign was...Anita smelled fresh shit. What was really going on? Could Albus Dumbledore be trusted?
"Be careful, Ma petite. This wizard uses powerful magic, that you are not versed in. If he so much as thought you didn't trust him, he could use his magic against you," Jean-Claude pointed out through their link. Anita shivered at the thought. This resurrected the memory of the Senora. But she had thought ahead of her, hadn't she?
When Anita had been asked to teach. Lanna contacted the school. She informed the Headmaster that she was an already practitioning Witch, and that she was also Anita's daughter. She was granted instant acceptance. After the fact, Lanna informed Anita of this. Everyone assisted in getting their hands on information on the kind of magic these people used and how they used it. Turns out their kind of magic was different from any witch Anita had met. They had access to a special kind of energy source that only genetics allowed. Kind of like Anita's necromancy that Lanna had also received. Luckily Lanna was a practitioning ley lines witch. So she had figured out a way to pretend to be using the magic like these people. Lanna would say the magic word, wave the wand, and at the same time tap a line to get the desired affect.
"You seem to enjoy talking to that boy," Anita teased.
"Okay, sure." Lanna huffed.
"Do you know what side he's on?"
"His father is a major chess piece of Voldemort's," Lanna informed.
"Lanna, be careful..."
"Mooooommm, don't go all mother-henish on me now!"
"Sooo sorry."
"Can you wait till the Order of the Phoenix meeting?"
"You aren't interested in a full nights sleep before your first day of school?"
"Coffee is a wonderful thing."
Anita smiled softly, "I guess in that case, would you be interested in joining Jean-Claude to the Vampire Council meeting tomorrow night?"
Lanna grinned all the way at the Slytherin table, "You are the world's best kick-ass mom, ever."
