Chapter VII

I'm so sorry that I haven't updated, but I got extremely bogged down. I didn't abandon. I'm working on it. No worried. I hope you'll forgive me.

Lucius helped her to the study and to sit on the sofa, “Is there anything I can do?” he asked, hearing her sniffles and feeling her fingers digging into his robes.

Hermione shook her head, sniffling on his shoulder. She sat back.

“I’m sorry,” she sniffled into a handkerchief.

“Don’t be,” Lucius said, leaning forward and touching her leg.

“I’m sitting here crying to you about a guy,” Hermione said, “when we could be talking about our projects.”

Lucius rubbed his lips together before he spoke, “You need to let it all out sometimes, you know. I remember when I was taking my N.—O.W.L.s,” Lucius looked at her hoping she would not notice the slip of the tongue. “It’s stressful, and then to have a friend whom you’ve shared so much with to yell at you…it just makes it all worse.”

“Thank you, Adonis,” Hermione said, reaching over and taking his hand.

Lucius squeezed her hand, and smiled.

“Hermione, I need to tell you something,” he said, “But I don’t want you to be more upset than you already are.” He kissed her hand softly.

“What is it?”

“My name is not Adonis,” he said, looking away from her.

“What is it?”

“Lucius Malfoy,” Lucius said, looking over at her.

“Oh, you were named for your father, then?” Hermione asked. “Why would that upset me?”

“My father’s name was Abraxas.”

“Don’t be silly, Ado—Lucius,” Hermione said, seeing his serious look at her.

“I got dragged forward in time,” Lucius said.

“Stop being silly,” Hermione told him. “We should get to work on our projects.”

She stood and walked over to her desk.

She ran a finger over the books.

Lucius nodded.

“This better be working,” Draco snapped, watching the mirror showing a brunette witch sitting at a desk and a blond wizard sitting in a chair.

“Just relax, Brat,” Severus said, snapping his fingers to fade the image.

“He hasn’t even kissed her,” Draco moaned. “Not that I want to see it or anything. But it would be comforting.”

Draco slumped miserably in the chair.

“He has known her only a short time,” Severus said, rubbing his fingers on his temples. “It is not fitting.”

Draco pouted, “He should make a move.”

“He is a gentleman, and she is a lady, not a whore,” Severus snapped. “You Malfoys get everything.”

“She is a lady,” Draco agreed looking up at the mirror fondly as if he expected to see her image.

Lucius sat in his bed that night and flipped through the empty book. What could he do? She didn’t believe him. He had tried to be honest, but she told him to quit. She didn’t believe him.

Lucius flipped over to lie on his stomach. He reached of the bottle of ink sitting on his nightstand and took the top off, picking up a quill.

He moved the quill over the empty page.

A small bit of ink dripped on a corner and Lucius frowned before he noticed it twisted and forming into the date he arrived.

Lucius dropped the quill and scrambled back toward the foot of the bed. He grabbed his wand and pointed it at the book.

The book couldn’t be cursed. If it was, he would have been dead by now.

He crinkled his nose and levitated the quill over the book. He shook it a little. As ink splattered the page, more words began to appear. Lucius kept his wand trained on the book.

He tilted his head as words appeared in his handwriting. Cautiously he began to read what it said.

Today, I was dragged forward in time…

Lucius read more down the page. He flipped the page and splattered more ink on it and read more. His eyes widened as began to read pages with future dates on them.

He didn’t shut the journal till he finished reading it in the early hours of the morning.

He stood and went into his bathroom thinking over everything he had just read. He had read the events of the future. He had the power to change the few things he had done poorly.

Lucius yawned and stretched as he dressed and walked out to meet Hermione. It was to start the real romancing if he wanted her to come back in time with him almost thirty years. Convincing her to leave would be a challenge.

Lucius stroked the spine of the book that told him what would occur. No reason to plot anything till he saw how today played out…who knew if the book was correct, after all?

Lucius sat next to Hermione as she talked to him about what she was planning to do for their joint projects.

Lucius leaned in closer to her. He reached out and touched her hand sliding his hand over her glass of pumpkin juice and tucking a potions vial up his sleeve.

Hermione reached out and gulped the last of her pumpkin juice and stood, “Time for Arithmancy.”

She blushed as she looked at the blond and bit her lip.

“Yes, Hermione, may I carry your bag?”

“That would be very sweet, Adonis,” Hermione said, looking away as their hands brushed together.

“I told you, my name is Lucius,” Lucius said, offering Hermione his arm hopefully.

Hermione took his arm with both hands and walked up toward Arithmancy clinging to Lucius’ arm.

“Okay, Lucius,” Hermione said, putting her cheek on his shoulder.

She sighed as she looked at him. How odd. She felt lighter than air walking at his side. Lucius shifted free as they approached the boys’ lavatory on the third floor.

“I need to go to the lavatory,” Lucius said.

Hermione clutched his arm a little tighter.

“I’ll be right back,” Lucius said, taking her hand and kissing it.

Hermione fidgeted as she waited for him. She shifted from foot to foot as she heard the sink turn on.

When Lucius reappeared, Hermione jumped into his arms.

“Hello Hermione.”

“Hi Lucius.”

“Shall we?” Lucius asked, tilting his head and smirking at Hermione.

I hope that this was good. I will try to get more done. Now that it is summer. I think that this will be easier. Getting out speedier updates, that is.
