To Devour The Soul

A/N: Yes I know this chapter is…late. Sorry! I'm lazy lol!

Jaden smiled when the school came into view. He could see that Rosalie and Alice were already there waiting for him. The smaller girl was bouncing excitedly and seemed to be taking nonstop while the blonde looked on with a barely noticeable smile. He pulled up next to the duo and was nearly snatched out of the car.

"I am so glad you actually showed up. So many people let Rosalie run them off it's not often I get the chance to make a new friend."

Glancing over the smaller girls head he grinned widely as Rose rolled her eyes and nodded toward her red BMW. "Come on kid, we have a long day planned."

["Better hurry kitten. Jacob just left the house, he's trying to stop you before you leave."]

Jumping into the car Jaden held on as Rosalie took off full speed from the parking lot. He spent the car ride trying to get to know the two girls better, Rosalie was quiet but he could tell she knew how to have a good time. Alice on the other hand was a ball of energy, and there seemed to be no filter between what she was thinking and what she said. Some might find the thought of her constantly talking to be irritating but Jaden could not help but love her free spirit. The drive to Port Angeles only took about an hour and with Alice as the source of entertainment the ride was over before Jaden knew it. When they pulled into the mall parking lot Jaden's phone rang. He knew who it was without even looking at the phone, only one person would be calling him now.

"Yes Jacob?" He tried to keep the annoyance out of his voice but the other boy obviously heard it.

"Where are you?" Jacob was practically growling into the phone.

Jaden rolled his eyes and Alice giggled from the front seat. "I told you I was going out with Alice and Rose."

This time Jacob did snarl into the phone. "I told you not to go."

"Jacob I don't have time for this. I will call you when I get home." Jaden practically sighed out.

"JADEN DON'T HANG U-"Jaden snapped the phone closed and set it to silent.

Rosalie looked back and smiled "Good job kid. Bella would have made me take her back home if Edward told her to come home."

Jaden chuckled "Bella isn't a bad person she just needs to become more secure in herself and her relationship."

A strange smile spread over Alice's face. "She will soon."

Going into the mall Alice already had a game plan. She knew what stores they would hit before lunch then after a break they would jump right back into it. Alice was a woman on a mission, she would hand Jaden a pile of clothes and the boy knew to try them on without argument. They were doing great until Alice handed him an outfit that he was sure he could never go out in public with it on. "Alice what the hell is this?"

"It is a costume. You're going to need it in a few months might as well get it now."

"I'm not putting this on."

Alice shot him a look so evil it made the boy's skin crawl. "Don't make me put it on for you. It's perfect and when Jacob sees it he won't know what hit him."

Jaden felt his magic flare at the look on the girls face but obediently went to try the outfit on. When he came out to show the girls the outfit he finally got the clue he needed. Alice was standing a little too close to a window and stray ray of sunshine moved across the side of her body. The diamond like glitter was one that Jaden couldn't mistake.

["Merlin, they're vampires!"]

["Very good kitten! I knew you would figure it out."]

Alice gave him a wink and moved closer. "Your right Jaden we are vampires and I know what you are. Let's go pay for these and we can leave."

Jaden nodded and followed behind the other girl. Rose gave him a wicked smirk and pressed in close from behind. "Don't worry Alice has not told the family what you are yet, but I'm really interested now. She has placed your secret before the family. So I have to ask myself, what can you possibly be?"

Alice pulled him away from the blonde and led him to the car. "Well I guess the shopping trip is over. I had hoped that you would figure it out later in the day so we could at least finish shopping. Oh well let's go to our house I think we all need to have a heart to heart." With a giggle they pealed out of the parking lot.

["Mom you need to meet me at the Cullen's house in about ten minutes. They know what I am."]

["Don't be afraid little one they can't touch you. If they even threaten to hurt you I will scatter their ashes to the winds."]

["Thank you mamma."]

Jaden didn't speak the entire ride. As he predicted the trip only took about ten minutes, when they pulled up to house he could see Bella's beat up truck in the drive way. With a sigh he got out of the car. Alice practically danced up to the front door. Entering the house the entire Cullen family was sitting in the living room waiting for him to enter the house. He practically jumped out of his skin when Ami jumped from the roof down onto his shoulders.

["You scared the piss out of me!"]

["Oh calm down! You knew I was coming so no need to act surprised."]

["You could have told me you were here instead of just jumping down on my head like that."]

Moving into the house Jaden slowly moved his gaze around the room. The siblings seemed just as nervous as he felt, Bella looked tired like she hadn't slept well the night before, shaking his head to clear it he focused his attention on the blond man and brunette woman situated at the front of the room. Both wore welcoming grins but Jaden couldn't fight the dread coursing through his body. The woman offered him a seat next to her on the couch while the blond remained standing. Sitting stiffly Jaden slightly relaxed when Ami jumped into his lap and made herself comfortable.

The blond man cleared his throat drawing everyone's attention "I am Carlisle and the woman next to you is Esme. I'm sure you know of my children, they have been speaking of nothing but you for the last few days."

"It is nice to meet you both, I'm Jaden Wolfe."

Esme wore a warm grin on her face. "You are such a beautiful boy. Are you hungry or anything, I can fix you a snack?"

He never did get to eat lunch so he nodded "Um sure, but don't go through too much trouble."

Esme waved him off "It's no trouble at all. I never really get the chance to cock, Bella doesn't eat much."

Bella was so red Jaden worried she would pass out from the rush of blood to her head. Carlisle once again cleared his throat. "Well let us get to the reason for your visit. Alice has told me that you know what we are, so I think that it is only fair to tell us what you are."

Jaden gave them a dark grin "Why do assume that I am something besides an average human?"

It was Jasper who spoke out "Because I have no urge to eat you. If anything my instincts are telling me to stay away from you, that you are a threat."

Esme returned then with a sandwich, chips and a bottle of water. "Jasper don't say such things to our guest."

Jaden gave the woman a bright smile and thanked her for the food. "Don't worry I have to say that I'm happy to know that you feel no urge to eat me. So I guess I should start by saying that I am a wizard but I am also the chosen re-incarnation of the demon Ammit."

Jaden took a big bite of his sandwich as the others in the room all looked at him like he had lost his mind. Looking down he nudged the sleeping cat from his lap. "You need to show them your true form so we can get this over with."

The cat sent him an evil look and stretched. She began to glow and grow, the vampires all moved into defensive stances and hiss at the unusual glow. Poor Bella was trying to push past Edward to get a good look. Jaden rolled his eyes at the display. "Calm yourselves the sooner you see my mother the sooner you can understand what is going on."

When the glow faded an extremely tall woman with dark skin stood where the cat had been before. She had thick ebony colored hair that was pulled back into a high pony tail that was long enough that the ends of her hair touched the back of her knees. She had golden eyes like a cat and when she smiled at everyone she had a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. She wasn't a dainty woman; she had thick muscles that rippled as she moved closer to the green eyed boy. It was Emmet who broke the silence "Hot damn! If she's a demon go ahead send me to hell now!"

Rose slapped the back of the boys head so hard Jaden was sure she had cracked his skull open. "Shut up idiot. This isn't a laughing matter, we have a demon standing in our living room."

Jaden smiled at the couple and moved into Ammit's arms. The demoness cupped his faces and smiled down warmly at the boy. "It is good to finally see you again mamma."

Bending down she rubbed her face against Jaden's. "I have missed you kitten. Even in cat form I have missed holding you my little one."

Carlisle spoke out next. "I hate to break up your reunion but I really think you have some more explaining to do."

Jaden turned in the demon's arms and smiled, his eyes a bright shade of turquoise instead of their usual emerald green. "Of course Dr. Cullen, you see my real name is Harry Potter. When I was an infant a mad man named Lord Voldemort attacked my home and killed my parents James and Lilly Potter and Ammit's protection saved me by killing him when the killing curse he threw at me rebounded and struck him. What Voldemort didn't know was that Lilly and James Potter were not my biological parents. The child they conceived was not the one Lilly gave birth to. Lilly was chosen to bear the next evolution of the demon Ammit, "Devourer of the Dead". While I am technically a genetic combination of James and Lilly my power comes from Ammit."

Carlisle looked shaken as did Edward. The other vampires looked confused. Ammit spoke up next, her voice was dark and raspy. "So you see for all intents and purpose I am Harry's mother. When my time as the devourer is over and I have destroyed this world he will step up and take my place until the next in line is born."

Jasper snarled at the revelation. "So you are here to bring the end of the world?"

The two demons laughed "Well not today. You see Harry just came into his full power last month, it will take a few millennia for him fully control his power and when he is ready that will be the end of this civilization and the beginning of the next. Do not fear Jasper Whitlock you will not be destroyed at the end, I do not see your demise anytime in my rein or Harry's so do not fret over it."

"So is Voldemort still after you?" asked Edward

The duo shared a smile. It was Harry who answered "No his soul was the first that I judged unworthy and devoured."

Rose had a disgusted look on her face. "You eat people's souls?"

Harry blinked at her. "Well I don't just walk up to them and suck out their souls. No when people die they have their final judgment and Ami looks over everything they have done in their life and if they have too many dark deeds that contaminate their souls she eats the soul and they never reach their final resting place. That is the hell everyone fears, an eternity of darkness never to hear anything but your own thoughts and never see the light again."

Edward looked at Bella then. "You see that is why I cannot curse you to this life, eventually we are killed and you will be cursed to the darkness like us."

Before Bella could protest Harry spoke out. "Actually vampire souls are different. When you are bitten your soul is judged and if you pass you become a vampire. Then when you die as a vampire you are judged again and depending on your intent as a killer. If you kill human's but still feel remorse for it you are judged worthy but if you hunt humans and slaughter them just for thrill you are devoured. So that is no reason for you not to turn Isabella. She will be a magnificent vampire if given the chance."

Once again Emmet broke the awkward silence. "So what can you do exactly? I know you have some future sight, and you eat souls but what else?"

A look of pride radiated from Ammit's face as she answered. "He will become a seer in time; he doesn't have that full ability yet. He has some control over the elements but he still needs to work on summoning the spirits of the elements; he has always been an extraordinarily powerful wizard and is physically strong for someone of his size and build. He made even be stronger than you Emmet."

Harry gave the bigger boy an evil smile. "How about we find out, me against Emmet, Jasper, and Edward."

Ammit smiled and sent a wink to the other boys. "How about it boys, you three against my kitten? You can even use whatever gifts you have against him. Kitten drop your shields so the reader can hear your thoughts, and to be fair no killing curse."

Bella looked like she wanted to cry. "You would actually try to kill them?"

Harry gave her a bored look. "Stop crying all the time. The killing curse wouldn't actually kill them just knock them out for a moment. It would be unfair of me to use it to end the fight in three seconds."

Edward hissed angrily "Don't talk to her like that."

Harry moved over to the sniffling girl and pulled her from Edward's grip. He pulled her close to his body and whispered in her ear. "You don't have to submit to him. You will be a powerful vampire but only if you can stand up to him. I'm not saying he is a bad person but you have your own voice speak up. He can't read your mind so he shouldn't be allowed to speak for you."

Spinning her around so her back pressed into his chest he wrapped a thin hand around the girl's neck. The vampires in the room all hissed a prepared to pounce. "If you want her back come and get her."

Jasper, Edward and Emmet followed the boy into the back yard. When Carlisle moved to join the fight Ammit pulled him back. "Calm down doc the kitten won't hurt the girl and besides you weren't invited to fight so sit back and relax."

With a flick of his wrist Harry had the girls dangling down from a tree. "Don't be afraid Bella; I just want to have a little fun for a minute."

Turning around he began to circle around the other hissing vampires and gave a snarl of his own. Edward leapt forward snapping and snarling, Harry reached out and hurled the other boy back over toward the other vampires. Ammit laughed loudly from the side lines and yelled out "Do be careful boys, Harry is just as venomous as you are."

Harry bared his own razor sharp teeth and Emmet let out a battle cry and sprinted forward. Harry smiled and jumped up and onto the other boys shoulders leaning back he flipped the boy back and into the ground. Not waiting for Jasper to attack he glided over to the blond. Jasper moved to dodge the smaller boy but whatever attack he had expected wasn't what he got. The hair on the smaller boy's head was practically standing on end and with a snarl, Harry sent out thick needle like spears from his ebony locks. Jasper couldn't dodge them all and he was pinned to the ground.

Harry laughed at the others reaction. "You're out Jasper."

Harry was so busy laughing he lost track of Emmet and Edward. Edward caught him in a tight grip, hands pinned to his sides while Emmet was charging toward the pair full speed. Bella screamed out for the trapped boy to be released. "Edward you're going to hurt him let him go!"

Even Alice seemed worried and moved to stop the boys but Ammit held her back too. "Hold on. My kitten is no weakling, he will be fine."

Harry raised his head and smiled, again showing the same razor teeth of his mother. The bangles on his wrist jingled and the boy roared. A burst of blue flames escaped from his mouth and Emmet was fully engulfed. Edward had loosened his grip in shock and the other boy spun kicking up a cloud of dirt and sent the stunned vampire flying into the forest with a kick to the head. When the dirty cleared Ammit was standing holding Harry's leg, having absorbed most of the power from the kick. "And he's outta here! The winner is Harry!"

Rose and Alice were running to check on their mates while Esme and Carlisle ran to check on Edward. Poor Bella was still hanging in the tree. "Hello! I'm still in this stupid tree! Harry get me down."

Harry turned and laughed at the girl before gently releasing the ropes and guiding her to the ground. The vampires all gathered on the other side of the yard from the demons. Carlisle looked on in curiosity. "What could have possibly brought you two here."

Harry looked to Ammit for permission before he answered. "I am here for a number of reasons. The first being that I needed somewhere to hide while my world gets its self back together, after the demise of Voldermort his death eaters are still wandering around trying to get revenge for their masters death. I also think that my crazy grandfather sent me here because he knew my mate was here."

Alice let out an excited squeal "I didn't see your mate in any of my visions. Have you found them yet?"

Harry gave Alice an unimpressed look. "Of course I did Alice and you have seen him with your own two eyes. You heard me arguing with him this morning on the phone."

Rose let out a disgusted scoff "Don't tell me that mutt is your mate."

Harry wanted to stomp his foot out of frustration. "Everyone here keeps calling him a 'mutt' or 'dog'! Why?"

Carlisle stepped to try to calm the conversation. "Do you know what Jacob Black is?"

["This is it! I can get Carlisle to tell me what Jacob is hiding from me."]

["He's not going to tell you kitten."]

["I wasn't talking to you! Stop ruining all my fun!"]

"Tell me, what Jacob is hiding from me." Harry could feel his own venom building in his mouth. These people knew what his mate was and they would tell him, even if he had to destroy them all.

Ammit stepped in before Carlisle could answer. "It's time to go kitten. It is not their secret to tell, Jacob will tell you when he is ready."

Harry nodded and the duo turned away to make their way into the woods. Alice caught Harry by the hand before they could leave. "Why don't I drive you back to your car and we can talk on the way alright?"

Harry smiled at the pixie girl "I had forgotten all about my clothes and car. Alright let's go. Ami you need to change back."

Ammit bore her fangs at the boy "You don't tell me what to do."

Rolling his eyes Harry and Alice where already making their way to the car. "Well you better come on or you're going to be one left ass."

Ammit quickly changed back into her cat form and caught up with the two at the car. Harry waved goodbye to the rest of the Cullen family and thanked Esme for the sandwich before Alice pulled out of the drive way. Alice looked over at the other boy and asked "So now that I know what you really are can I ask why you got leopard spots tattoo on you?"

Harry laughed at Ami's growl from the back seat. "You see in the past Ammit was a demon with head of a crocodile, the torso of a lion and the hindquarters of a hippopotamus. Over time she has evolved to have a more humanoid form so she kept the teeth of the crocodile, the eyes and mane of a lion and has the muscular build from the power of the hippopotamus. Since I am next in the evolutionary chain I thought it would be fun to get leopard spots tattoo instead of simple getting a lion."

Alice nodded in understanding "One more thing, where does the venom come from?"

Harry grinned at the question. " In my second year at Hogwarts I was bitten by a basilisk and the venom nearly killed me, my headmaster's phoenix Fawkes saved me by crying into the wound to cleanse it of the venom but there was a side effect. I had gained the ability to produce venom that is almost identical to that of the basilisk."

Getting out the car Harry turned when Alice called out to him again. "What is it?"

"Why did you eyes change color earlier?"

Harry sighed "It's because of Ammit. When I am using her power my eyes change because of her magic."

Alice nodded and waved goodbye. "I will see you at school on Monday."

Loading the last of the bags into the car Harry waved back. Getting into the car the boy couldn't fight the dread of going back to Jacob. He knew the boy would be pissed at him. Looking at the clock it was well past eight in the afternoon. Jacob had called sixteen times and texted over thirty times.

Pulling up to the house Harry could see Jacob sitting in the garage out back with the rest of the group. Stilling himself the quietly got out and began taking his bags into the house. He managed to get all but the bag with the present for Jacob into the house before he was spotted. Sam locked eyes with him and gave him a hard look. He must have said something to the others because they all began to leave the garage together. Each of them sending him glares even Quill and Embry. Harry just ignored them; there was no reason for them to be angry with him. This argument was between him and Jacob. He didn't care if the pack was pissed at him or not. He wasn't some toy to be controlled; he was a free man that could go out with his friends for the day…even if his friends were vampires.

As Leah passed she offered him a small smile. "Don't worry about them kid, they seem to think that by pissing off Jacob they should be mad for him too. I on the other hand think you were right to want to go out but just not with the Cullens. They could hurt you."

Harry looked back at the girl he was slowly becoming so attached to. "Trust me when I say the Cullens could never hurt me."

Leah just shook her head and continued on after the guys.

When Harry finally made it into the garage Jacob had his back towards him and his head bowed. "So you finally decide to come home."

Harry tried to lighten the mood. "I'm sorry Jake that I was out so late but I did get you a present."

Moving closer to the brooding boy, Harry reached out to touch his shoulder when Jake angrily spun and slapped his hand away from him. "Don't touch me. Do you know how worried I was? I was pissed when you first left but then I figured I could catch you at the school and talk you into coming home. I missed you at the school so I figured 'Hey I can call him and talk some sense into him.' But you ignored me, you hung up in my face! So tell me why I should accept your attempt to buy me off. You think that by just getting me some gift that you will be forgiven? What if something would have happened to you? I was too far to help you If-"

Harry cut him off there. "If what? You think that I was going to be attacked or something? Jacob I don't need you to protect me. I can take care of myself, so why are you so angry?"

Jacob pushed past the other boy "You are just like her! You choose them over me without any kind of hesitation."

Harry was close to losing his grip on his temper. He pulled the bigger boy back toward him and wrapped his arms around the boy's waist. Pressing in close he tried to calm himself before he said something he would regret later. "Jake I'm sorry. The Cullens are my friends but I would never put them before you. We haven't known each other long but I know that you feel this intense pull between us. There has never been another that has made me feel this way and I don't want to lose you. I didn't have a lot of trust worthy friends back home and the Cullens are good, honest people. I'm sorry but I want to continue being friends with them."

Jacob slumped in the other boy's hold. "I'm not going to win this argument am I?"

Harry smiled and pressed a kiss to Jake's shirt cover back. "No. I understand your worry but I will continue to be friends with the Cullens."

Jake turned and flopped to the ground pulling Harry down with him and into his lap. "Fine but when you go with them you have to take me with you sometime, alright?"

Harry huffed but nodded "Fine."

Jake smiled bright and pecked Harry on the cheek. "Good now where is my gift?"

Harry raised a brow at the sudden mood change."I don't think you deserve it now, but I will give it to you anyway."

Reaching back for the discarded bag, Harry pulled out a small stuffed dog. "Jaden what the hell is that?"

Harry couldn't fight the laugh that bubbled up from deep in his chest. The look on Jacob's had been priceless. "Well you said you wanted a Karelian bear dog so I bought the plushy version until I could find the real thing for you. Do you like it?"

Jacob blinked at the other boy before smiling softly. "You are such a pain in the ass."
