Redemption

\'What a foolish girl\', was replaying within her mind on a loop. Mostly it was the voice of her torturer but occasionally it was her very own voice of reason. The voice was both a comfort and an irritant as she luckily still retained rational thought but it seemed her sanity was a taut thread ready to snap with too much handling. She wanted it to stop! She wanted it to stop in the worst way, wishing for things she didn\'t want, not really. But, the nameless hopes of death or insanity lingered in the darkest parts of her mind taunting her resolve to remain strong. Remain strong, why? To enjoy the continued torture? \'I\'m not giving up!\' she thought resolutely, willing to conceed to giving up her pride, respect and body for just the barest amount of normalcy.
