Make You See My Love

“Oi, Moony over here. We saved you a seat.” Peter said as Remus walked into the Three Broomsticks. This was an every Hogsmeade weekend tradition. The boys would meet up with their dates and sit in one of the booths drinking butterbeer and talk about school or whatever came to mind. Whether it was James talking about Lily, or Sirius telling everyone about his latest conquest. Remus wasn’t above a little gloating here and there but never to the degree Sirius talked. Peter every once in a while would join in but not many girls were interested in him and Remus had to admit that Peter was a little weird at times so he just bit his tongue and never said anything. Maybe one day Peter would find someone just like him.

Remus waved at them and walked over and sat down with the boys. No girls were with them so they must still be out shopping or whatever it was that girls do. As he sat down he couldn’t help but notice that Hermione’s friends were sitting two booths over and so he smiled and waved at the Ginny girl before joining in on the conversation that Sirius was conducting.

“Man you should have seen Jillian Borden the other night. She has these huge tits and she was so tight….” Whatever Sirius was saying didn’t really sink in with Remus. He couldn’t stop thinking about Hermione and what she had told him. How could her friend turn on her like that? She did what she did because she cared about her friend and then to lose both of her best friends like that must have been devastating.

He must have been lost in thought to long because before he knew it he felt a soft small hand on his shoulder and when he looked up there was Caroline was looking at him with concern in her eyes. He gave her a vague smile and moved over but as he did so he looked up to see Hermione standing next to the table where the other girls sat. He noticed as Caroline sat down that she said something to the Ginny girl and the look of shock and horror spread across her face before all four girls stood up and left the Three Broomsticks quickly. He wondered what that was all about but tried not to pay it any mind. After all his girlfriend was sitting next to him. How would it look to her if he suddenly got up to follow another girl and left her there with the others? No he would just sit there and have small talk and enjoy himself as he did every trip to Hogsmeade. But the look on Ginny’s face didn’t fade because he wanted it to no it was still there and still fresh. She looked as though she was about to see a monster in the face. It was almost as if she had just been told that Hermione was going to transform any second. But that wasn’t possible the full moon wasn’t for another three weeks or so.

Obviously his concern was showing on his face because he was drawn out of his thoughts by James.

“Hey, Remus! Everything alright with you? You look like you were far away. What’s wrong?”

Remus looked at James doing what he can to keep his face blank before he forced a smile and replied back. “Everything is fine but we need to talk.”

“Well you know you can tell us anything Remus. We are you friends.” This reply came from Caroline.

“I know that Caroline but this is something that I need to talk to the boys about.” He replied back as easily as he could without snapping at her. He didn’t know what made him feel that way. But for some reason she suddenly was on his nerves and needed to get away from her.

“Is this about that new girl? What’s her name Hermione? Is there something going on with her that you can’t tell me?” Caroline snapped back hatefully. “I don’t know if I like you talking to her Remus. I see the way she looks at you. She hasn’t even been here a week and already she’s putting the moves on someone’s boyfriend. Well I won’t have it.” She started to get up looking like she was about to go and confront Hermione or even hex her, but was stopped by a tight grip on her wrist from Remus.

“What do you mean by that? We have only been talking Caroline. There hasn’t been any moves put on me or anyone else. How dare you speak of someone you don’t even know? If I want to speak to her I will and there is nothing you're going to do that. Do I make myself clear? Cause if not I’ll be more then happy to end things with you. I won’t have a girlfriend who is jealous of me talking to someone else.” He looked at her sternly before pushing her out of his way so he could get up. Now he was towering over here with an audience. But she stood her ground as if challenging him.

“Now see here Remus John Lupin. I am your girlfriend and I won’t allow you to disrespect me this way.” She said as he started walking away from her to leave. “If you walk out that door I won’t be here when you get back Remus. It will be over. Do you understand me?”

He turned and looked at her for a long moment before shrugging his shoulders and opening the door to the Three Broomsticks. “I didn’t really like sloppy seconds anyway.” At this point he walked out of the bar and headed towards the shrieking shack only to be joined up by the other Marauders.

“I will not be controlled like that.” Remus said with an angry tone. “How dare she act as if she owns me?”

“We’re not judging you Moony. She didn’t have any reason to be jealous anyone who knows you would knows that your loyal and wouldn’t cheat or go astray. That’s not you. But what’s going on? You’re acting kind of weird.” Sirius said as he walked over and put his hand on his shoulder. Showing that he was concerned for his friend which was true he had never seen Moony like this. He was always quiet and lay back not angry.

“I’m fine I just have some things on my mind is all. Did you guys notice that Hermione and her friends left quickly like something was wrong?” He said as he turned to them to see their faces.

“Yeah so. What’s going on?” James responded not sure where this conversation is going.

“Well before I came into Hogsmeade I had a long conversation with Hermione in the common room.” Remus responded but then was interrupted by Wormtail.

“That’s where you disappeared to. I was going to ask you about the potion essay that Professor Slughorn gave us but couldn’t find you. I didn’t think to check the common room. What did you two talk about?” They all shook their head and looked at him for a response.

“Well you see she didn’t look so well so I helped her back but ended up having to carry her cause she couldn’t stay on her feet long enough to get there. When I sat her down she asked me how much of her conversation that she had to her sister did I hear. She knows about my being….you know…a…” he let the sentence dropped.

“What was the conversation Moony?” Sirius asked.

“She and Ginny were talking about an Illness that Hermione has that she needed to tell someone about and at the time I didn’t know or realize who they were talking about until I got back to the common room. No the only reason I’m telling you this is because you’re my friends and you’ll eventually find out anyway the next time we are at the shack.” Remus said before going quiet and looking towards the shack to see that someone was out there. Curious who it might be he started to walk towards it followed by the boys who seen what he had seen.

“I wonder who that could be.” James said as he followed Remus and the others behind a bush to watch the girls.

“It’s the new girls now shush so they don’t find us.” Remus said quietly to the others causing them to go quiet.

“So Hermione did you tell him yet. I noticed he was missing this morning.” Ginny said as they sat on the ground close to the bush that the Marauders were sitting.

“Yes I told him so will you please drop it. He heard our conversation in the hallway.” Hermione replied. “I would have avoided it if I could but I knew he had heard us. I smelt him and the other three.”

“So does this mean you’ll be transforming here in the shack?” Luna asked curiously.

“No! I can’t do that Luna?”

“Why can’t you? Lupin didn’t you turn you away did he?” The girl that wasn’t from their house said.

“No he didn’t turn me away Pansy. But the fact still remains that I’m a female wolf and he’s a male wolf and when in wolf form we will have the instinct to mate and I can’t allow that to happen when he has a girlfriend that he’s clearly happy with. I just can’t see myself doing that. It would be different if we both had the Wolfsbane potion to take that way we both have the ability to fight the attraction but we don’t and I don’t want to see rejection the next morning because he felt it was a mistake.” Hermione replied sadly.

“How long does it take to make the potion? Do we still have time?” The Pansy girl replied.

“It takes two weeks but we still have to gather all the ingredients and find someone intelligent enough to brew it. I won’t allow that idiot Slughorn anywhere near it.” Was Hermione’s reply... “Severus is the only one that I trust to make the potion. We will need to talk to him.”

“I’ll see what I can do. He doesn’t talk to very many people and he hangs out with Malfoy and the Blacks and they snub their noses at me. If they only knew what I knew.” Pansy replied sadly.

“There are not going to know what you know Pansy. Do you have any idea what they would do if they knew our secret? That would be committing suicide.” Luna snapped at her. “They will have no problem running of to Voldemort and tell him what they heard. Then there will be a price on our head. It’s hard enough having to be here, I don‘t want anything to do with Voldemort ever again. Once was enough and watching that beast die was the one thing that I wanted to accomplish in my lifetime and I have so let’s leave ok. We just need you to get Severus Snape alone in a classroom and we will all explain the situation. He was and order member in our time and he helped Remus and Hermione by making the Wolfsbane I’m sure he will do it for us now. We will just have to convince him. It shouldn’t be to hard Pansy your Slytherin you should know what would draw a Slytherin to action.”

“Exactly Luna, we will just have to appeal with him. I mean he may have taken Voldemort mark but we all know he was forced into the decision. The shrieking shack incident didn’t help with his decision making. I overheard Dumbledore and McGonagall talking about it. He turns eighteen at the beginning of next term. That is unfortunately when he takes the mark so he’s going to do two things. Hate Ginny, Luna and myself because we are Gryffindor and nothing good seems to happen to him when Gryffindor's are involved and two still want revenge for what happened in the shrieking shack.” Hermione replied in a thoughtful manner before laying her head in Ginny’s lap. “I just wish this headache would go away. I feel like my head is being ripped in two.”

Ginny smooth Hermione’s hair as she spoke. “Well we will just have to be completely honest with him. Tell him what the potion does and if he’s willing to help make it then…” She trialed off in thought. “You know I don’t know what we could say to appeal to him. Have any Ideas Pansy?

“Well I could offer him sex. I mean that’s what we Slytherin’s do when we want something done for us.” She replied with a small smirk on her face.

“Pansy we are not going to prostituted you out for a fucking potion. Besides if Snape hasn’t already made his move on you by now he’s not interested. I’m beginning to wonder if he’s gay or not.” Luna said with a giggle which resulted in getting a silencing charm placed on her.

“He’s not gay. I can tell you that right now. I’ve seen some of the woman that he hangs around with. Being a pureblood and all I have an advantage. Can you give me a week? I’ll see what I can do. We may just have to slip him a note telling him to meet us in a classroom.” Pansy replied. “How are you feeling Mione? You don’t look so hot!”

“I feel like I normally do when I’m about to transform. Which really scares me because tonight isn’t a full moon but would have been if we hadn’t of had our accident sending us in time twenty years. So I think I should sneak down here to the shack just in case. Wouldn’t want to turn into a werewolf in the dorm room now would we?” Hermione replied before closing her eyes and falling asleep with her head in Ginny’s lap unaware of the four boys eazdropping on their conversation.
