The Next Day
Lily awoke the next morning, and panicked a bit because she could not get up. It took her a second to realize she was in her bed, and just tangled in the sheets as well as James’ cloak. After a minute or two of unwinding herself, she stumbled out of bed and headed towards her private bathroom.
She stripped down as she waited for the temperature to rise, a shower always cleared her head, and calmed her nerves. Now that it was the next day she questioned if she really wanted to continue what had happened last night, and decided to go for it.
She finally climbed out of the shower twenty minutes later. Lily had concluded that she would see how today went, and if it was half as good as last night, she would take him up on his offer to date.
After digging around in her drawers, and opening the window to check the weather, she decided on a simple pink skirt that went to mid thigh, and a white tank top. Her makeup matched her skirt, and Lily opted to pull her hair up in a pony tail.
At eleven she finally emerged from her room, looking up at James’ bedroom door which was cracked open a bit. She decided to go to the main common room, and wait for him, hoping it would not be too long.

James heard Lily turn on her shower, he was already awake. He decided to wait until she was done before he crawled out of bed. It was four in the morning before he was able to get to sleep, and he had awoken a few times as well, so James had to motivate himself to get up.
Once her shower stopped, he rolled out of bed, rubbing his eyes, and staggering to the bathroom. He took a relatively fast, cold, shower to wake himself up. While in his towel, he wandered over to a window just as Lily had done to check the temperature. James opted for a pair of khaki shorts, and a simple t-shirt.
He dried his hair, trying to get it to cooperate, but it never did, sometimes he wondered why he even bothered. With a sigh, he checked his calender, James had Quidditch practice at three today, and being captain you could not skip unless you were on your death bed.

James was not the only one with Lily on his mind. Severus had been up most of the night, seething in front of the Slytherin common room fire. He had seen them head out to the ground together last night after dinner. If it was not so deserted outside, he would have followed as well.
They finally came back in around eleven, he saw them enter from a side classroom he was studying it. They left arm and arm, and returned hand and hand.
“Fuck,” he said quietly running both hands through his hair. There was no reason for him to be mad, because he had pushed her away, but he figured it was from jealousy that of all people it was Potter.
Severus decided at eleven to go get something to eat, and see if they were still together today. He was hoping it was only a one night fling.

James wandered down to the main common room to see Lily sitting lazily on a couch, one leg dangling off as she stared out the window. She was gorgeous, just seeing her blood rushed south slightly.
Ignoring it, he stealthily snuck up behind the redhead on the couch, and gently covered her eyes with is hands.
“Guess who?” He said with a smirk, looking up to see his friends watching very intently at what he was doing.
“I have no idea,” Lily said laughing a bit. Of course she did, but she was just playing along. “Is it Potter?”
James grinned widely, pulling his hands away from Lily’s eyes. Instead of walking around the couch, he just hopped over. “How did you know?” he asked giving her a playful pout.
“I just do,” Lily said smirking a bit up at him. She would never admit that she knew it was him because of his touch, or his smell, since she knew it very well from being buried in his cloak the night before.
Speaking of the cloak, “Sorry about your cloak last night,” Lily said quietly to him, feeling a small flush on her face. “I can run up and get it if you’d like.”
“No it’s okay, you can keep it if you’d like,” James said quickly before giving her a charming smile. He then looked at the clock, squinting a bit to see it, it was lunch time already, and his stomach would not let him forget that.
Smiling to herself, Lily followed his eyes to the clock, it was eleven fifteen. She thought it was cute that even with his glasses he had to squint to see, it was amazing with his sight he could play Quidditch.
“Wow it’s lunch time already,” James said aloud before looking back down at Lily.
“Yes it is,” she said. “You slept in very late Mr. Potter, what were you up to?” Lily asked him a bit flirtatiously.
“Mm...well first I went on a walk with a beautiful girl, but shh, no one can know,” he said grinning at her. “Then I stayed up late talking with my friends, nothing too out of the usual.” James stated, then arched an eyebrow, “or I am just lazy. You pick which one.”
“I wouldn’t say lazy..” Lily said picking her next words carefully. “Because you did manage to get me to agree to go on a walk with you last night, that took some perseverance.”
She bit her upper lip liking his reaction, before looking down at his right hand. Lily never noticed last night, but it was a bit swollen from hitting Severus the day before. Her fingers traced over it lightly:
“Does it hurt?”
“It looks worse then it feels,” James said glancing down at his hand, her fingers were still resting on it lightly. Truth was, it was killing him the night before, but he would not tell her that.
Lily’s stomach grumbled a bit, and she put her hand on his lightly. “I guess I am hungry,” she said blushing slightly.
“Let’s go eat then,” James said standing up, and offering her his uninjured hand.
Lily grabbed it without hesitation, and they walked down to the Great Hall together.

Remus looked at Sirius who just smirked before looking back down at his paper. Remus was honestly shocked, it was such a drastic change over night, and he secretly wondered if James had slipped something in Lily’s drink.
“Did you just see what I saw?” Peter interjected once Lily and James had left.
“Yes Peter,” both Sirius and Remus responded.
“Looks like Evans has had a change of heart,” Sirius said as he scribbled something onto his parchment.
