Yule
Okay, so this one will be more interesting than Ivory’s I hope. It might be shorter though. Hopefully you’ll like it. –Ice
Instead of taking the train to London, Blaise created a portkey and he, Scorpius, Al, and I portkeyed to his home in Italy. He lives just outside of Castro, Italy on the coast of the ‘heel’ of the ‘boot’. Our rooms had stayed ready for us, as always. I went straight up to mine and unpacked some of my stuff.
“Rosa, did your parents say whether or not they wanted you home on Yule?” Blaise asked after following me up to my room.
“No, they didn’t. Should I write to them and find out do you think?”
“No, wait and see if they write to you first,” He responded. “In the meantime, do you need anything right now?”
“Nope, thanks though,” I smiled and he smiled back, turning to leave. “Hey Blaise?”
“Yes?”
“Are you going to go swimming with me?” Yes, it’s December but Blaise has an indoor pool and it was in the high 50s (F not C) outside. Although, the temperature outside doesn’t matter that much, does it?
“Of course I am, darling. Meet me down at the pool then,” He left the room this time and I quickly changed into my swimming suit. I slipped on a long skirt and made my way down to the pool at the back of the villa.
Blaise’s pool is really more like a lagoon. There’s a large waterfall off to one side and a cave just behind it that has a stone bench in the water. The pool that the waterfall falls into is deepest at the fall and starts out at four feet deep on the farthest side from the fall.
I pulled my skirt off and set it on a chair and climbed to the top of the waterfall. Taking a deep breath, I dove into the warm water. When I resurfaced, Blaise, Scorp, and Al were walking in.
“Hello, boys. About time you joined me,” I smiled at the three of them.
"Yeah, yeah. Shut it, Rosie," Scorp smiled right back, pulled off his shirt, and dove into the water with me. Al and Blaise soon followed suit. The four of us stayed in the pool for a few hours until Blaise's house elf, Tipsy, came in and announced supper. We got out, dried off, and went to eat.
I lay in bed that night, tossing and turning, hoping I would fall asleep. I knew it was futile, I never could for the first two or three nights I was in Blaise's home. After two hours, I sighed, threw back the covers, and walked down the hall to Blaise's bedroom. I knocked and slowly entered.
"I was wondering how long it would take you, Rosa," Blaise was sitting awake, marking papers.
I smiled sheepishly. "Do you need help with those?" I gestured to the papers.
"Not tonight. I was only working on them while I waited for you anyway," He admitted. I smiled. "Tomorrow, we avoid all this. You come straight to my room instead of trying your own first, understand?"
"Yes, Professor," I mock saluted him.
"None of that," He responded, throwing a pillow at me, which I easily caught.
"Keeper, remember?" I climbed into his huge bed and under the covers. He just smirked, put his marking on the bedside table, and doused the lights. He lay down beside me and I curled into his arms, laying my head on his chest. "Thanks, Blaise."
"In qualsiasi momento, (Anytime), Rosa," He responded. I always went to Blaise when I couldn't fall asleep. Something about falling asleep beside him made me feel comfortable and very safe. I knew it was that way when I went to Al or Scorp, but with Blaise, it was different somehow. I fell asleep quickly after that, as I knew I would.
I woke up the next morning to find that Blaise had left for breakfast already. He’d left a note on the pillow beside me to tell me where he was. I stretched, got out of bed, went to my own room, and brushed my hair. I decided to stay in my pajamas today. Blaise, Scorp, and Al were all already in the sitting room eating breakfast when I got there. When we were there, we very rarely ate in the dining room. We'd all decided it was much to formal a setting for us.
"Anything planned for today?" I asked, sitting in what had become my armchair by the fire.
"Not unless there was something specific you wanted to do," Blaise answered me.
"No, there's not," I smiled and began eating a small breakfast, I never ate much in the mornings.
The four of us stayed in Blaise's villa for most of the break. Yule was rather uneventful for all of us. Aside from the gifts in the morning we didn't do much else all day. Al and I both knew that if we'd gone home, we would end up at the Burrow, along with all of the rest of our cousins, aunts, and uncles. Avoiding the chaos that was a Weasley Yule was nice every so often. I still wasn't sleeping in my own room yet this break. It was the longest I had ever stayed in Blaise's bed. It was weird though. He didn't care that I was there, and I was in no hurry to leave his room.
Two days after Yule, Scorp and Al cornered me in the library about it. "Rosie, we need to talk to you," I immediately assumed it was about their relationship.
"Why, is everything okay with you?" I asked, turning from Al to Scorp and back again.
"Everything's fine with us, that's not what we need to talk to you about," Scorpius glared at Albus.
"Okay then, what do you need?" I set the book I was reading on the table beside me.
"It's you and Blaise, actually. Hear us out before you say anything," Al held up his hand as soon as my mouth opened. I closed it and he continued. "It's just that the two of you have been spending so much time with each other and everything and well,..."
"What he's trying to ask is if you and my godfather are involved with each other," Scorpius cut him off.
"No, guys, we're not. Aside from the fact that he's one of our professors, he's also 26 years older than me."
"Rosie, you know that doesn't matter. Not really, anyway. I mean, we live a lot longer than muggles do so age doesn't make much of a difference for us. At least not that kind of a gap," Al stated.
He had a point, I admitted only to myself. "And about him being our professor?" I raised an eyebrow in a perfect imitation of Scorpius.
"That only matters to people like the Headmaster or the Ministry. Not the rest of us," Scorp waved off my question.
"Right, only the law makers and who cares about them," I snorted in amusement.
"Do you wish you were?" Al asked quietly.
I was silent for a moment. "I honestly don't know, Al," I answered, not going into any kind of detail. I really didn't know the answer to that.
That night, I curled a little bit tighter into Blaise's side, still thinking about what Al and Scorp had said that afternoon.
By the time that we returned to Hogwarts at the end of the break, I had decided to ignore Al's question. It was pointless anyway, he was our professor. I told myself I would come back to it the next year though, as I would be closer to graduating then.
Okay, I know that these two took forever to get out and Ivory did get hers typed up a while ago, we just wanted to put out both chapters at once. Mine took so long because we were in a car accident shortly after I started this chapter once we got home. It was nothing too bad, Ivory broke her collar bone and I broke my left forearm, the ulna specifically. Anyway, that's why it took so long and why this one is shorter than I had hoped it would be. It may be a while before Ivory gets her next chapter up, but hopefully not too long. Finally, that chapter will have skipped a bit of time. It'll be Quidditch season. -Ice
