Chapter Seven
Harry was nervous all day the next day, waiting to see if his plan would work. By the time the Quiddich match was supposed to start, he had already thrown up once from the butterflies in his stomach, cussed out Ron for being overly excited and getting on his nerves, and had run into about three walls in his haste to get where he was going faster.
Along with his broom, there on the sidelines of the Quiddich game, Harry had the potion bottle and the spell paper. He jumped as one of the other Gryffindor players came by him, patting him on the back and wishing him a good game. He replied with some comment about luck to them too and went back to staring at the Slytherin side, where Crabbe was just offering Draco a bottle that very much resembled the one he himself had beside him.
Whispering a spell to increase his vision, he watched as Draco – no, Malfoy – glared at Crabbe, took the bottle from him, examined it, and seemed to decide it was safe enough. He un-corked the bottle, and took a large swig of the blue murky liquid inside. He grimaced at the taste, then downed the rest of it before glancing over to the Gryffindor side with a look of almost evil anticipation. Anyone else would have thought it was the look of a Slytherin intent on his victim…which in a way it was.
His eyes widened as he caught the eyes of Harry Potter. HIS Harry. Watching him. Was this a sign? What could it mean? Suddenly he felt a cramp tighten in his stomach, before he let out a very ungentlemanly noise from his nether-region. Luckily for Harry, Draco had decided to get the hell out of there before someone noticed the smell that had accompanied the strange noise. He was already on his broom and in the air when Harry lifted his part of the potion to his lips, draining it all before whispering the spell and quickly muttering a spell to burn the paper he held.
He watched the paper turn to ashes and fall to the ground, before he smiled to himself. It was done. Now he just had to wait and see if it would work.

Up above in the Gryffindor spectator stands, Hermione couldn’t stop giggling. She had watched, using binoculars, as both Draco and Harry took the potion and as Harry had finished the spell. Her part in the plan was complete. All she could do now was keep the book from Harry so he couldn’t find out and blame her for the main consequence of the Redamo Rivalis.

Locked in Hermione’s personal chest up in the girls’ dormitory of Gryffindor Tower, the old book began to glow. Rather suddenly, the pages flipped themselves in a flurry of activity, and settled on the page of the Redamo Rivalis.
At the bottom of the text, a large “WARNING!” could be seen. It read, “Redamo Rivalis should not be used in cases where love may be the same as hate. In these specific cases, it WILL cause…”
The text was glowing, but the rest of the page was gone.
