~*~Harry~*~
Today will be an unforgettable day. We are looking at houses and apartments for James and I. We had rented a car in London near the train station, bought a newspaper and were driving around looking at all of the 'for rent' adds in the back of the paper.
I don't really know why we have to live in London, but maybe if I play my cards right, I can poke James into thinking about some other city, or country, I have always had a curiosity about Africa. Perhaps South Africa, or a country close. If not, America is alway second on the list, just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean that we cant do a bit of traveling and site-seeing. In fact that just might be better than finding a single house to settle in, less of a chance of being found. Hmm, I just might tell James that. Heavens knows that Dumbledore would, well, I dont know what he would do, no one ever really does.
We had just turned down a street that looked oddly familiar to me, but I shrugged it off and leaned forward to talk to James, sticking my head between the front seats, seeing as the fool of an old man had practically screamed 'shot-gun' and made a mad dash for the front seat as soon as the key were handed over to James, yet another star by the Headmasters name on my chart of 'weird'. So far he is ahead by 25 stars.
"James?" he gave a 'hmm' to show he was listening as he turned another corned and glanced down at the map that was opened up and spread over the steering wheal and across the dash board "Are you sure that is safe?"
"uh," he slowed down to read the numbers on one of the houses then looked at the news paper that Dumbledore was holding open for him gave a mumbled "I think this is it...224, 222, 220...wait, no." and sped up.
"James?"
"Uh, what were you saying Harry?"
"Is it safe for you to be driving while reading a map and a newspaper at the same time? I mean, after all, wizards are not immortal, we can die if you crash the car. And I, for one, would like to live long enough to see my baby born and grown up. Give me the map and newspaper. I will read it to you as you drive."
"Albus is reading it to me."
"'Albus' is getting motion sickness." As if to prove my point the headmaster gives a low burp and covers his mouth while turning slightly green.
"James, give me the map NOW. Headmaster if you would please hand me the paper." Albus is all too happy to comply, and practically shoves the paper into the back seat just before leaning out of the window and vomiting as James careens around another corner. "And for Merlin's sake James, SLOW DOWN!"
James must have taken my yelling at him to slow to heart because he slams on the breaks. Turning slowly in his seat he gives me the evil eye worthy of Snape.
"Would you stop being a back seat driver and just SHUT UP...please. I'm having a hard enough time driving as it is. The last time I was in one of these things was before your mother died." He turns back around as I stare at him in shock with my mouth wide open. "And quite staring at me like that, we are perfectly safe. Sirius said driving is like a bicycle, once you learn you never really forget, it just takes a bit of time to get used to." He beams at me in the rear view mirror.
Oh for the love of..."James get out of the drivers seat. I am going to be driving us from now on."
Thank god Sirius took me to get my license a few years back so that I could drive his beloved Motorcycle. Remus was furious with him after words, for not telling James, But when he figured out that I could now drive into town for him when he needed something, he got over it pretty quickly.
James turned in his seat once more, "Don't be daft, Harry. Since when do you know how to drive?"
I can feel my temper rising and I narrowed my eyes. James could be such a brat at times.
~*~James~*~
Harry can be a real bitch at times. I am currently sitting in the back seat, pouting. Albus never even said a word in my defense when Harry lept out of the car, opened the drivers side door and practically threw me in the back. I am so embarrassed right now. Harry is half a foot shorter than me and 20 pounds lighter, and I couldn't even fend myself against my fifteen year old pregnant son! Oh the shame, the shame!
I huff, cross my arms and continue to look out to window at the passing houses.
"James," Harry sighs and glances at me in the rear view mirror "James, stop acting so spoiled and tell me the number of the house we are looking for."
I huff again, sinking lower into the seat. I know that the way I am acting in juvenile, but I really am upset about it and the only way to get Harry to notice is if I over exaggerate.
"You know, James, I have no problem dropping you off at home and getting Sirius to come looking with me, Merlin knows he has a much better taste of housing than you do."
Well that got my attention.
"No way in hell is Sirius choosing the house we are going to live in." I snatched the paper out of Albus' hands scanning it until i found the house address we were looking for "We are looking for Crawford street,we turn left on that, and then turn right onto Spring Mews, its number ten. what street are we on now?"
"Did you say Crawford street?" Harry's voice was low, and slightly shaking.
"Uh, yeah. and then a right on Spring Mews. its about two blocks from here."
Harry pulled the car over suddenly and rested his head on the steering wheel.
"Harry?" I leaned forward through the seats and touches his shoulder. "Baby, whats wrong?"
