Chapter 7
Chapter 7 The Headmaster
Pissed, Harry threw off the bed covers and stormed form the bed. He irritably paced the large room, staying as far from the bed as humanly possible.
“Harry calm down,” Adam spoke softly, as to a caged animal.
“Calm down… calm down. NO, I don’t think I’ll calm down.” He reached for his flaccid cock and lifted it to show his bed partner. “This… has never let me down before. I’m fucking twenty-two years old. This is supposed to happen to old men like… Snape.” Harry would have snickered at the thought of Severus being unable to perform if it wasn’t happening, tragically, to him.
“Harry, you have just started a new job. The stress of taking on such a huge responsibility could affect your system in any manner of way… including, but not limiting itself to, temporary impotency.”
Harry cringed. “Please don’t use that word. I refuse to believe I am… that.”
“Come back to bed and lay next to me. Let me be a friend to you and give you some comfort. It’s been awhile since anyone just comforted you and did not want something from you.”
Harry took a step forward. “What… what about you? I mean… you didn’t seem to have any trouble… you know… getting a hard on.”
Harry, for a moment, wasn’t the self assured little prick he had been recently but a lost, frightened, little boy.
“Because I have a hard on doesn’t mean that I have to get my rocks off.”
“It doesn’t?” Harry sorrowful eyes widened.
“No it doesn’t. I’m an adult. I control my body not the other way around.”
“Are you sure?” Harry took another hesitant step. At this point Adam, seeing the look in Harry’s eyes, the fear of rejection, was glad they did nothing more than rub up against one another. Harry needed a friend and not a lover… at least not yet.
“Get you arse over here now.” Harry bounded over the bed and into Adam’s arms. He snuggled next to Adam’s warm body, laying his head on the man’s broad shoulder. “Stop worrying about everything. Let your mind, roam somewhere where you were warm and secure. A time you didn’t have a care in the world.”
Harry relaxed in Adam’s arms, his breathing deepened as he neared sleep. “Mmmmm… thanks Sev,” he muttered as he drifted to sleep.
Adam’s eyes widened, in surprise. The puzzle had just gotten more interesting. He pulled Harry’s slighter frame closer and kissed the messy top of his head. He would be there as a friend for this man/child. He would see he got the help he needed and be there when no one else would be. The savior-of-the-wizarding-world needed help and he would be the one to see he got it.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Minerva had moved in with Hermione and Remus. Now that she spent her last night at Hogwarts, she had nowhere else to go. She promised them faithfully that she would be out as soon as she found a place of her own but she liked these young people and thoroughly enjoyed their company. She would definitely miss them once she had moved.
After a long night sitting with Albus, the trio was getting home as the sun was rising. Remus and Hermione headed for their bedroom after saying goodnight. Minerva, a little too wired to go directly to her room, thought it was best to have a bite to eat and read the Daily Prophet before retiring.
She was amazed at the change in the newspaper. No longer the ministry propaganda paper, the articles were now precise and informative. She gazed at the headlines on the front page and yawned. She had finished eating a sandwich and drinking a glass of milk and decided that she was ready for a few hours of sleep when her eye caught a small headline in the corner of the paper. Her heart skipped a beat and she squealed in delight.
“Remus, Hermione!” she screamed as she reread the article again. She was heading into her host’s bedroom and nearly bumped into them as they were exiting.
“Minerva, you okay?” Hermione asked while she pulled her robe around herself. Remus was dressed in only boxers and a t-shirt.
“Yes, yes, yes, I’m fine.” She dismissed their concern. “Look.” She pointed to the tiny article on the front page.
Hermione took the paper form her ex-head of house and started to read out loud. “New Hearing for Severus Snape, Death Eater.” Hermione rolled her eyes. “I must talk to Luna about always adding ‘Death Eater’ after Severus’ name.”
“Hermione the article, please,” Remus prodded his fiancé.
“Sorry.” She continued, “‘After receiving a deluge of support for the ex-Death Eater’,” Hermione harrumphed, “‘and ex-professor of Hogwarts, now serving time in Azkaban, the Ministry has agreed to a new hearing. Lawyer Raymond Hartwing, hired and paid for by the notoriously rich Draco Malfoy, will serve as Severus Snape’s council. The hearing will be three weeks hence, on October 6th at nine in the morning. Anyone with an opinion of the faith of Severus Snape is encouraged to attend. One administer was caught saying, off the record, ‘There is only one way for Snape to escape his punishment and that is if Harry Potter came to his defense’.’
“I hate to say it but they’re right. We need Harry’s help if we want to get Severus out of prison. What may take months would only take a few days if we can get Harry to back us.” Remus gave up on the thought of sleep and went to make a strong pot of coffee for the three of them.
“And what are the chances of that happening?” Minerva was becoming a crosspatch from lack of sleep. “Slim to none?”
“Probably,” Remus said dejectedly. He was startled when there was a knock at the door. “Hasn’t anyone around here ever heard the word ‘sleep’?” he griped as he went to answer the door. He was startled to fine a dishevelled Adam standing there. Rolling his eyes Remus said, “I’m making coffee you want some?” He moved so Adam could come in.
“Yeah, sounds good.” He took a step into Remus’ house and stopped and waited for Remus to introduce both Hermione and Minerva. After the introductions they sat about the table while Hermione started to fix breakfast.
Remus looked at his friend through narrow eyes. He didn’t have to take a deep breath to smell Harry all over his friend. The werewolf was also quite aware the smell of sex was lacking.
“How’s Harry?” Remus asked.
“Smell him on me?”
“Yeah,” Remus growled.
“We didn’t have sex, if that’s what you were thinking.”
“It wasn’t. Why so defensive?”
Hermione sat a plate of eggs, toast, and ham down in front of him. Adam muttered his thanks and took a bite before he answered Remus. He felt uncomfortable speaking in front of the two women. He understood they were good friends with Harry and were concerned about his welfare but to him they were two strangers he knew nothing about.
“I would rather have this conversation in private, if you don’t mind.”
“If Remus doesn’t mind I certainly do. If you have something to say about Harry, we, as in Remus, Hermione and I, have every right in this world to hear about. Since you have made it clear that you did not sleep with Harry, exactly what did you do with my student?” Minerva commanded.
‘Talk about your mother hen,’ Adam thought of Minerva. “I had a delightful dinner with a remarkably charming man, who I had every intension of sleeping with. If you must know.”
“Better.” Minerva leaned back in her chair to give her full attention to the young therapist. “Continue.”
“I want the three of you to understand something, the only reason I am speaking at all to you is I am determined to be a friend to Harry. I agree he needs help and the more people that can help me, the better off he will be. I will not betray any confidence by telling you anything he might have told me.”
“Good for you,” Minerva said sarcastically.
“Behave Minerva,” Hermione chided her former head of house. “Mr. Montoya, would you please continue with what you think.” Minerva gave a disgruntled huff.
“There is a possibility that he suffering from Post Traumatic Stress. But there is something else going on. It would help if I could get him into St. Mungo’s and get a complete physical.”
“That is one of the easiest problems I have come across in my long life.” Minerva picked up her cup of coffee and took a long appreciative swallow. She purposely made them wait for her explanation.
“Mr. Potter isn’t the only one that has friends in high places.” She smiled maliciously.
“Minerva what exactly are you planning.” Remus was slightly worried. Since her ‘retirement’ she needed a little revenge.
“Oh do stop worrying Remus. I don’t plan on hexing him and sending him to the hospital. My plan is much simpler. The trustees implemented a clause that the headmaster had to have a complete physical every year before school started. With Albus’ age they wanted to be sure the old fart could make it through the year. I’m sure they haven’t rescinded the order since Harry became headmaster. All I have to do is put a bee in a bonnet to get things rolling.”
“The sooner the better,” stated Adam. “Can any of you tell me how he felt about Snape when he was in school?”
“Harry always hated Severus but the feeling was reciprocated. The two couldn’t get along if their lives depended on it.” Remus explained.
“To a certain extent that is correct but…” Hermione continued.
“Please go on. Anything, no matter how small, might help.”
“In Harry’s seventh year he became withdrawn until he finally admitted to himself and to the rest of us that he was a homosexual. He was spending a lot of time with Professor Snape and I thought the two of them were becoming vast friends. By the end of the year everything changed and the two of them seemed to despise one another.”
“Could they have had an affair?” Adam asked.
Adam was sprayed with coffee from three different directions. Wiping his face dry with a napkin, he noticed the stunned look on all of the faces that were staring at him.
“Where in the hell did that come from?” questioned Remus, once he found his voice.
“Whatever made you ask such a question? For you information Severus is not a paedophile. Even the hint of something so horrendous would, most likely, send Severus away for the rest of his life.” Minerva turned to Remus. “This is the man you thought could help Harry? It sounds more like he trying to destroy what little we have accomplished in getting Severus out.”
“You sound defensive of Snape. Are you trying to hide something?” Adam was just as irritable as Minerva.
Minerva was on her feet and lunging towards the therapist only to be caught by the waist by Remus. “How dare you impugn my veracity?” Hermione left quickly and returned with a calming draught mixed into a little brandy and coffee.
An evil eye remained on Adam as she sipped her drink.
“Now, that we have calmed down, what made you ask such a question?” Hermione asked as she settled into her chair.
“I apologize for offending Snape or anyone else. It has been an extremely long night and I find my temper is on the short side.” Adam continued, “I never meant to suggest that Snape was a paedophile but Hermione implied that the two were getting close in Harry’s seventh year. The only reason why I asked, I hate saying this, was as he was falling asleep in my arm he thanked, not me, but ‘Sev’.”
“He said Sev? You sure about that?” Minerva asked.
“Yes, ma’am, I’m not mistaken.”
“Minerva?” Remus asked when he saw her face turn ash. “You all right?”
“In all the years I’ve known Severus, he has never received a Valentine card but once. I can’t remember how many years ago it has been but for a short period of time Severus seemed… happy. I remember him trying to slide his card into his pocket without anyone noticing. He had the biggest grin on his face. The only thing I saw was the name on the envelope, ‘Sev’ and nothing else.
Remus gave a soft whistle.
