Chapter 7
Hermione’s eyes flicked open and she was completely awake. From that moment she knew two things: One, that the man she had spent the night with was not Sirius Black; Two, who ever was inside Sirius was going to pay dearly.
She closed her eyes and let her mind drift over the events of the night. That first time she had known something was wrong but she had been so relieved and overjoyed that he wasn’t, in fact, angry at her, and possibly unbelievably horny after the previous night’s dreams, that she had pushed her annoying logical mind aside. But she had lost count of the times during the night that he had pulled her to him or she had pulled him to her for another embrace.
He had been like a man starving for sustenance, dying of thirst. So eager, so overjoyed at her passionate response to him and more then once, shocked at her desire for his mouth and hands. He had lacked a certain confidence that Sirius exuded in abundance and more then once he’d fumbled, unsure of how to act or move. And several times he’d been about to say something only to stop suddenly and bury his face in her hair.
Not that she was complaining of course. He had been a fast learner and had taken to her gentle prods and moaned instructions with a flourish, leaving her very satisfied and eager for more. But that did not distract her from the point that he was not Sirius.
~*~*~
Later, after a long shower, Hermione headed down to breakfast, tying her long curly hair into a tight knot at the top of her head as she went. By the time she arrived in the great hall everyone was sitting to breakfast. She smiled warmly at Remus as she passed the professors table and noticed that both Sirius and Snape were arguing in hushed tones, their faces close so as to be the only ones to hear.
She grinned at Harry, Ron, and Ginny as she sat down and filled her plate.
After breakfast Hermione stood and straitened her robes while Harry adjusted his book bag on his back.
“What do we have first today?” Hermione asked as she stretched her slightly stiff neck.
“Potions.” Answered Harry, his eyes on the long stretch of throat she had just arched to the side. He grinned and leaned closer. “With Professor Shnoz.”
Hermione laughed and slapped his shoulder. “Oh god, I’m so not in the mood for that snarky git, today.” She let her legs go limp and felt herself dropping only to be caught in Harry’s strong arms. Years of Quiditch training had made their mark on his now muscular body and Hermione couldn’t hold back the thrill of excitement she felt.
Harry’s eyes danced as he laughed and set her back on her feet. “Don’t worry Hermione, I’ll protect you.” He kissed her cheek. “It’s about time I stepped into the line of fire for you.”
Hermione felt her eyes prick, touched by his words, as she had been earlier. “Don’t you dare.” She said sternly and stroked a hand over his cheek. “Come on, lets get it over with.”
A prickly feeling in the back of her neck alerted her to someone watching. She turned to see Draco staring intently in her direction. Once he was sure that he’s caught her eyes he flicked his to a quiet corner of the hall and signalled for her to meet him there.
“What the hell does that ferret want?” Harry growled and glared at his blond rival.
“Well he’s not sneering or making rude signs so it must be something important.” Hermione answered quietly and promised to meet Harry in the dungeon after she’d found out.
Harry gave her shoulders a squeeze and kissed her cheek before heading off, leaving Hermione to see what Draco wanted. She walked towards the corner and found Draco waiting for her. He looked edgy.
“Draco?” Hermione was concerned now and couldn’t stop herself from placing a hand on his shoulder. “What’s the matter?”
Draco shook his head and looked up suddenly to make sure that they were still alone. His eyes followed Snape for a moment and Hermione turned to watch as well as the tall, dark wizard swept from the room with a dramatic flourish.
“I’m not sure…It’s going to sound nuts but I need to warn you.” He looked away then back to meet her eyes. “Have you noticed anything strange about Snape?”
Hermione let her mind drift over the last potions lesson. “I’m not sure, he looks the same.” She pursed her lips for a beat. “But there is something different about him. It’s almost like he’s being Snape, as in trying to be Snape.” She looked at Draco expecting him to laugh but his eyes widened and he signalled for her to continue. “And he seems to be enjoying, being Snape.” She covered her eyes with her hand. “That sounds nuts.”
Draco smirked. “Told you, but at least you noticed as well.”
“Sirius.” Hermione said, and her voice squeaked slightly. “Sirius is acting like Sirius as well. But is it just them or is it others too?”
Draco shook his head. “I don’t know. I don’t even know if I believe my current suspicions.”
“That the professors are being replaced?”
He nodded and his face paled.
“Draco, we still don’t know what’s happening here. Lets not jump to the darkest conclusion.”
“how can I not? How can you not?” He looked darkly at Hermione. “We both know how bad this could get.”
“Alright, but lets just wait a little longer.” Hermione really didn’t want another episode like what had happened in 5th year. “Let’s watch them both more closely today then we’ll meet up tomorrow, after breakfast.”
Draco fidgeted but agreed, “And if it still looks bad what do we do?”
“Do you think Dumbledore will believe us?”
“If he’s still him?”
~*~*~
Both Hermione and Draco burst into the dungeon 10 minutes late, breathing hard and robes slightly dishevelled.
Professor Snape glared at them from his podium. His eyes swept over them both but paused on Hermione’s flushed cheeks and wild hair. His glare darkened and Hermione couldn’t help but pull her robes a little tighter around her as she felt the heat of his gaze wander over her body.
“Well, Miss Granger, Mr Malfoy. I see you’ve finally decided to grace us with your presence.” He spoke slowly, taking the time to pronounce each word.
“I’m sorry Professor Snape.” Hermione stepped forward as she spoke. “We had to help a student with a, umm, personal problem.”
Draco caught on immediately and stepped forward next to her. “Yes, Professor. She seemed quite distressed so we decided deal with it straight away.”
Snape raised a single brow, his eyes full of disbelief. The edge of his mouth ticked. He stepped down and strode towards them, the tension around him so thick that most of the class cringed as he passed.
He stopped in front of them and looked down his nose as he spoke. “Very well. Take your seats.” He spun and left them standing.
Draco and Hermione looked at each other for a moment. All that for him to tell them to sit?
Harry and Hermione made a good team. They worked together mainly in silence, both understanding what needed to be mixed, which direction to stir, and how long to stand back and let it simmer. They smiled at one another as they saw their potion reach the correct consistency and colour.
“Impressive.” Snape was suddenly behind them and his hand rested on her shoulder. His thumb stroked over the spot where her shoulder and throat met and Hermione trembled under his touch.
“Th…Thank you sir.” She croaked out and heard him chuckle behind her.
“Bottle it and leave a sample on my desk for assessment.” He said and continued around the room.
At the end of the lesson Snape cleared his throat and caught Hermione’s attention. He signalled for her to come closer and waited for the classroom to clear before speaking.
“Miss Granger, I was hoping that you would help me with the Wolfsbane Potion for Professor Lupin tonight.” His tone was level and almost bored as he gathered together his various papers. He finally looked up at her. “Well? I don’t have all day and can just as easily choose someone else.”
“No! No need Professor Snape. I’d very much like to help.”
“Then I will see you here after dinner.” He said then sauntered out of the room leaving her looking after him.
~*~*~
After lunch Hermione headed off alone to Arithmancy. She was hoping to get in a little early so she could share a moment with Remus before class, having missed him this morning due to the previous nights activities.
Her pace slowed as she thought about the previous night. Was she right about Sirius? Were she and Draco right about Snape? Should she tell Professor Lupin? If Snape wasn’t Snape then should she be meeting him in the dungeon after dinner?
An arm snapped out and grabbed her, but before she could scream for help she was muffled by one large hand over her mouth. He pulled her into a dark little alcove behind the curtains. Hermione shuddered with fear but the smell was familiar, as was the feel of his tight leather pants at her back.
His mouth was by her ear and his hot breath caressed her face. “Miss Granger, why am I not surprised to see you rushing off to get to class early.” His fingers slid down from her mouth, down her throat, and still lower till he cupped her firm breast through her robe.
Hermione sighed and arched back against him. Damn his hand felt good, so large, so strong as it squeezed just hard enough to make her gasp. “Sirius.” She felt him stiffen slightly. “Ooh…Professor, I’m going to be late if you don’t let me go.”
“Wouldn’t want that now would we?” His hands pulled open her Robes and with a flick of his wand her blouse was undone. “No, can’t have the pretty little know-it-all being late for a class.”
Snape.
That was the name that popped into her head as she heard his words. Snape. Professor Snape. As his hands slipped and stroked her breasts and her body tingled with delicious heat, she let her mind drift back to the previous night. Not easy considering he was at this moment lifting her skirt and had just slipped two fingers into her white panties.
“The Gryffindor golden girl all the way, eh Miss Granger?”
“Frankly my dear, disgrace is too light a word for all the filthy things I plan to do with your delectable body, tonight.”
In that moment she knew and then instantly didn’t care as he slid two fingers deep inside her wet passage and stroked his thumb over her quivering clit.
He spun her around to face him and Hermione looked into the lust Filled eyes of Sirius Black. She grinned wickedly at her lover and had to hold back a giggle at the new information. Only Professor Snape would have gotten her “Gone with the Wind” joke and no-one would enjoy being the snarky potions professor as much as Sirius.
Hermione sat on the deep window frame and nibbled her lip as Sirius positioned himself between her thighs. The frame was just the right height, to both their pleasure and Sirius held her eyes captive while he opened his pants and freed his rock hard erection.
They shared a wide mouthed gasp as he pulled her panties to the side and forced his way home. He pulled her closer and she wove her hands around his neck, as he began to stroke. Long, fast, and deep. Both knew that there wasn’t much time. Hermione tightened her thighs around his hips and interlinked her feet behind his back.
Each thrust of his hips was followed by a muffled grunt or obscenity growled into her ear.
“You have been a very, very bad boy Professor” She purred into his ear and felt him jerk and speed his movements. “So…Much…Trouble…”
He gripped her hips and pulled her tighter against him. Hermione felt her body shudder and heat up as she drew closer to her goal. His thick shaft was so hot and seemed to get bigger as he rammed her over and over against the window.
“Ah fuck, Hermione…” He groaned and pumped harder. “I’ve been in trouble…Since that bloody night in the Shrieking Shack…You and that arrogant little ba…” He was cut off as her body suddenly contracted around his and her teeth clamped onto his shoulder.
Hermione thrilled at the knowledge that he had been into her for as long as she’d been crushing on him and felt her body fill with the most delicious waves of blazing delight. She had to bite down on him to muffle her scream and thrilled as she felt him thrust savagely, once, twice and cry out, his voice cracking as his own climax took him.
~*~*~
As they straightened their robes Hermione kept throwing him amused looks. How did it happen? Why hadn’t they told anyone?
“What is it Miss Granger?”
She giggled at the tone that was so recognizable as her Potions Master coming from the mouth of Sirius. She knew that glare had felt familiar.
“Just thinking Professor.” She ran a hand over the window frame and grinned mischievously. “Do you think these were built with this kind of activity in mind?”
Sirius rolled his eyes and groaned. He wrapped his arms around Hermione and she smiled up at him. “You are something else, Miss Granger.” he spoke quietly then lowered his mouth to hers in a passionate kiss.
“Isn’t that my line, Professor?” Hermione snarked then turned and left him watching her go.
~*~*~
Hermione was late for Arithmancy but only by a few moments and Professor Lupin was stern but understanding. He seemed to watch her though through out the class and she noticed an odd expression in his eyes more then once. Hermione had the feeling that he, with his extra strong senses could smell her…and Sirius, so she didn’t stop to chat after class, instead she smiled brightly and hurried out before he could catch her eye.
She needed to find Draco to let him know about Snape and Sirius. Hermione had a pretty good idea what the boy thought was going on, though he hadn’t said. The fearful look in his eyes told her enough. He was remembering Professor Moody, or more the fake Professor Moody who had turned out to be Barty Crouch Jr. a death eater and Azkaban escapee. Even though it was impossible, Hermione knew what really scared Draco.
Lucius.
She closed her eyes and let her mind drift over the events of the night.
