The Beast Returns
I remember talking to Romulus nearly every night since the time I found out about his past. I remember digging deeper, unravelling more details of his complicated life. A change had come over him because of it. It seemed he had actually found a friend that he could poor his heart out to yet he also hated me for I had threatened the information out of him, and he had never forgiven me for that. Romulus was being torn between his two sides; you could see it in his eyes, his chocolate brown eyes.
Another night had passed as Romulus stood up to walk back to the boys’ dormitories, leaving me in the flickering light of the dying fire. The flames danced in my silver eyes when I felt a hand fall on my shoulder.
“What do you want, Romulus?”
“Sorry, but try again,” a voice cried. “I’ll give you a hint. I don’t get as ticked as Rhomulus, I don’t have a wolf in my ‘blood line’, and I’m sexier than he could ever become.”
“Hello, Dominic,” I said, turning around to face the temptation. “What do you want, besides fulfilling your lust?”
“Well, there was that until I heard your conversation with Rhomulus. Interesting way of using that kiss I gave you.” I felt my eyes widen at his reply as I vocalised,
“How much do you know?”
“Enough to threaten you with. Of course, I could do that without this information.” Dominic stalked around the couch, his pale eyes never leaving my own, as he sat down on the couch, next to me, too close, too bloody intimate, but, of course, that was always the way Desir worked. He ran a hand along my leg, slow and caressing, and I licked my lips, trying to lock the moisture in them, but the liquid was evaporating too quickly. My eyes watched as Dominic Desir’s hand crept up my thigh, creeping closer to my quivering member. I was immobile under his touch as the tips of his icy fingers dipped into my waist band.Lucius, what are you doing? I told myself. You are with Damion! You love Damion! and somehow, I had managed to move away from my beguiler.
“Lucius, what’s wrong?” asked Dominic, his hand sweeping through my hair.
“You know very well what it is. Dom, how many times do I need to tell you I’m with Damion?” Then, I saw it: the hatred and the jealousy that swam in the incubus’s eyes, but I didn’t get to see it long for a few seconds later, my eyes were screwed shut, and a scream was let loose. I could see it again. That horrible demon that had haunted me for weeks was back. It hadn’t even attacked yet and already I was screaming from the memory of what it had done. Tears fell from my eyes as I heard myself whisper,
“Dominic, please, help me.” I opened my smoky orbs to see what he would do, and I let out another scream, or at least tried to, but the horror kept it locked within. I watched as Dominic completed his metamorphosis. His muscles broadened even more, ripping the emerald shirt. His hair lengthened past his shoulders, and massive bat wings had sprung from his back. His teeth elongated as sharpened to the uncanniest point, and the last thing to go was his ice blue eyes. I watched as the beautiful orbs changed into a charcoal black. I stared at the demon, my throat parched from fear, realising he was the one in my head; he was the one that had attacked my mind. I stared and stared some more, barely able to believe it, when I finally managed a word.
“Why?”
“I was jealous. No one has ever made me jealous before. I’m sorry I attacked you that day. You should be thankful I had enough control over it not to make you go insane. It’s just . . . I’ve never done well when people say no to me, but they had always come to me in the end, except you. Damion was always in the way, because you loved him, you truly loved him. The one thing that makes my powers lessen, and you had received it before I could take you!”
“You knew we had sex before you had walked in on us.”
“Correct, and that made your love for him grow even more, dammit!”
“Dominic,” I stated. “Why don’t you just give up?” Then, he grinned, his dagger-like teeth back to normal, and I noticed the rest of him following suit.
“I’m not giving up until I’ve given all I got.”
“I’m not letting you fuck me.”
“I’m not asking you to let me. All I want is to give you another kiss, but I am allowed to put all of my power into it.” I stared into his now azure eyes as I replied,
“You know I don’t stand a chance, Dominic. Not against your full powers.”
“You’ve managed to do it when I had them to near maximum, and that was before you were with Damion.”
“And what do I get if I manage to pass you game?” I asked.
“I’ll stop trying to get you in my bed, of course. Unless you change your mind.” Next, he started to run a hand through my hair, soft and soothing, and I felt the power start to build, and I watched as the sex demon moved closer to me, stopping inches from my mouth, hovering above it. “The next move is up to you, my flame,” and I remember I nodded my head.
The power crashed into me as I felt the frozen heat of his lips upon mine, compressing their velvet across my cracked ones. How did he keep his lips so soft all the time? I could feel myself harden under my jeans, and I felt Dominic’s hand crawl up my back. All thoughts of Damion vanished as my soul became surrounded by the incubus’s aurora. Waves of power walloped into me, pulling me under, drowning me in its essence. Dominic released his sultry kiss, his eyes sparkling with a desire and a malice. I felt myself smile as I began to crawl toward his luscious body. My arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him toward me as I slid my lips over his. That’s when Damion walked into the Common Room, his lavender eyes in disbelief, as he cried,
“Lucius, was die Hölle?” I quickly flung off Desir, guilt flooding through my body, but the desire was still floating in the air. Could Damion feel it? I rose to my feet, a pain in my eyes that echoed Flieder’s, as I tried to stutter an explanation.
“Damion, I – I – he used his powers. He kissed me on full throttle. I—”
“Almost fucked him,” Flieder interrupted. “Lucius, how could you do this to me? I thought you loved me.”
“I do. I--”
“Don’t speak,” continued he. “Know this, Lucius, I would have never hurt you, and I still won’t, but this wound you gave me is deep, so it may take a while to heal, but remember this always: I will never hurt you!” and then, he walked away, leaving his word echoing in my mind.
