Chapter 7: Back To The Granger
House
Hermione
opened her eyes and looked around. She saw that right away she wasn’t in the
Burrow, but home. She wondered how she had gotten here, knowing that she hadn’t
apperated there. She slowly got up and that’s when her mother walked in.
“Oh Hermione,” her
mother said. “Your awake.”
“What happened?”
Hermione asked.
“You passed out,”
her mother explained. “Mrs. Weasley dropped you off and told me those awful
friends of yours called you horrible names.”
Hermione looked at her confused and then the memory of their
explosive argument came crashing through her. She felt as though she was about
to pass out again. Her mother gave her some water and she drank it gratefully.
“Are you alright?”
her mother asked.
Hermione shook her head.
“Are you going to
be alright?”
Hermione sighed.
“I don’t know, but
I know that I don’t want to go back to the Burrow. I don’t even want to go back
to Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Ginny are going to be there and their going to
tell their friends loads of lies. I can’t focus like that.”
Her mother looked at her sadly. She knew that this wasn’t
going to be easy for her, especially after Hermione had told her what her
husband had done before Hermione had married him.
“Are you going to
tell the Headmaster your decision?”
Hermione nodded.
“So where are you
going?”
“I’m going to stay
in the apartment above the shop,” Hermione said. “I’ll see if the Professors
can send my work there.”
“Alright.”

Meanwhile,
Dumbledore had turned back to normal and he looked a little confused at where
he was. He decided that it was about time that he got some answers. When he
arrived back at the castle McGonagall was there to greet him.
“Are you alright,
Albus?” McGonagall asked him.
“I’m fine, dear,”
Dumbledore said. “But I need you to find out who did this to me.”
“Of course,” she
said. “Oh, Arthur’s visit went well.”
“Great,” he said. “Now
I need to shower and change. I’ll see you later.”
And he disappeared.

“Do you think that
Hermione’s alright?” Severus asked Remus.
Remus looked at him.
“I’m sure she is,”
he told him. “Why do you ask?”
“Because she’s been
gone all weekend,” he told him. “I don’t like this and now with Albus back in
human form, it’s going to be hard to find out where she’s at.”
“I could find her
for you.”
“Thanks.”

Hermione
left her mother’s house a week later. She had already decided over and over
again that her decision not to be in school was a good idea. Her mother and
father had wished her luck and hoped for the best. Hermione hoped for the best
for herself. When she arrived in Hogsmead she used the key to let herself in
and then went upstairs to the apartment that they had rented. She looked around
the room; sadden about how her life had gone.
Hermione
sent Dumbledore a message, telling him that she wouldn’t return for her final
year. She knew that she was being stupid, but she just couldn’t take it. As she
watched her owl fly away, she hoped that the Headmaster would understand her
reasons.
