Chapter Seven

Lucius cursed loudly, sparks shooting out of the end of his wand as he absently twirled it between his fingers. He could not believe that he had been reduced to wanking off in private like a damned schoolboy. The only alternative was taking Lexy against her will, and that would not do. Her attitude towards him had only made him more determined to make her give herself to him willingly; for when she did, she would be utterly in his control.

Still, that thought did little at the moment to remove the disgust from his mind. However, he was left with no other option. His cock had been pulsating most insistently since he had left the dungeon, and even a Deflating Draught did not help. At least it did not take him long to climax; the mere image of Lexy in his lap had been all he needed.

As he lay in his bed that night, Lucius found himself unable to sleep, haunted by the face of the young woman currently in his dungeon. He rose and put on a silk house robe before moving silently through the manor, wordlessly dropping the wards on the dungeon as he went. Slowly, he opened the door to the dungeon, and was gratified to see Lexy asleep, curled up in the corner of the room. He frowned when he noted that her torn robes had been repaired, but disregarded it for the time being.

His renewed erection already becoming insistent, he bent down and lifted Lexy into his arms; though she was curvaceous, her frame was slight and it took little effort to lift her. She stirred slightly, moaning gently in her sleep, and Lucius froze – he did not want to wake her yet. To his relief, she settled easily into his arms, and her breathing resumed the steady pattern of one deeply asleep. “Mobby?” he called quietly.

A house elf appeared in front of him, cowering on the floor. “Yes, master?” it asked, trembling.

“Have a bath ready in the master bathroom by the time I get up, and a fresh set of towels ready for the mistress,” he demanded.

Thankful to have escaped without punishment, the house elf Apparated upstairs to do Lucius’ bidding and he began his walk back up to the bedroom suite. Lucius laid Lexy down on the bed and pointed his wand at her, removing her clothing. It was the first time he had seen her entirely naked, and the temptation to thrust his cock into her unsuspecting body was almost overwhelming. Gritting his teeth, he took her into his arms again and lowered her into the warm bath.

Lexy’s eyes opened wide with surprise as she was enveloped by the warm water. “Lucius, what are you doing?” she demanded, realising that not only was she out of the dungeon, but she was naked.

“You may return to the dungeon in the grime if you prefer, princess,” he replied silkily, “but I rather wanted to review our arrangement. I have decided – should it be amenable to you, of course –“ he chuckled, “that you will spend the days in the dungeon, and the nights here in my room.”

Lexy was completely thrown by what Lucius had said. It was as if he had known that she had been dreading spending the night alone in the dark dungeon; even sharing a bed with him would be preferable to that. Surely there had to be some catch. “On what condition?” she asked him warily.

“We will not do anything you do not want to, I promise,” Lucius replied, picking up the soap and beginning to massage it into her skin. With his spare hand, he poured some essential oils into the warm water, and Lexy sighed and began to relax as the perfume drifted through the air.

“Answer me honestly, Lexy. Are you enjoying this?” he whispered into her ear, his long hair falling forward and resting against her skin.

Lexy sighed with pleasure, and nodded. “It is enjoyable, yes,” she replied grudgingly. It had been a difficult day, to say the least, and being able to relax like this in Lucius’ presence was not something she had anticipated.

“As soon as we are married, I will do this for you every night if you desire it,” he murmured seductively. “I promise you that I will not be a neglectful husband to you. I am a very demanding man sexually; I will not lie to you about that. However, I am not selfish. I will strive to ensure that you gain as much pleasure as I do, if not more. Moreover, whenever you are carrying our child, you will want for nothing. This I swear to you,” Lucius avowed, and Lexy was startled to feel the remnants of a wizarding vow swirling around them.

“It makes my heart a little easier to hear that,” Lexy said honestly. “However, I cannot pretend that I am entering into this marriage willingly or with any feeling of love or respect for you,” she said, biting her lip. She could not lie, no matter what the consequences would be.

“You must think I am a fool if you feel the need to tell me that, Lexy,” he replied wryly. “I am fully aware that this relationship is not something you desire. But I am not lying to you when I say that you could have had a far, far worse fate. I will respect you provided you do the same to me. I assure you, had you come to Antonin or Rabastan’s attention first, you would be fortunate to even stay alive after providing the five children,” he said soberly, his hands still tenderly massaging the soap into her skin.

Lexy blanched, and shrunk down into the water. “And what are your plans for me?” she asked boldly, her heart pounding in her chest.

Lucius stopped, his brow furrowed. “Did I not make my intentions clear?” he demanded.

Lexy realised that there was no point in stopping now. “All you told me was that I was to bear your children and sleep with you every night. After that, you behaved violently, took my wand and threw me into a dungeon.”

To her great surprise, Lucius laughed out loud. “Yes, from your point of view I can see how my actions could be misconstrued. Come, let us retire to the bedroom and I will explain exactly what my plans are.” Lexy hesitated, and he snarled. “For Merlin’s sake, witch, I have given you my word that I will do nothing to you that you do not want me to. If you knew how much effort it took me to hold myself to that earlier, you would believe me.”

“I trust somebody when they have earned it,” she said stubbornly, but nevertheless rose out of the bath and gratefully accepted the fluffy towel that Lucius wrapped around her.

They moved into the master bedroom, and Lexy yawned, unsuccessfully attempting to hide it. “Lie down on the bed if you are tired,” Lucius said quietly, settling himself into the chaise longue. He pointed his wand at her, muttering a drying charm, and she dropped the towel and settled underneath the covers, chuckling. “What?” he demanded, bemused.

“Sorry,” Lexy said, her smile ceasing. “It’s just that my dad used to have a chair just like that next to my bed when I was little, and you reminded me then of when he used to sit there waiting for me to get into bed so he could tell me a story.” A solitary tear slid down her cheek.

Lucius regarded her sadly for a moment before speaking. “Allow me to tell you a story now then, princess. Imagine, if you will, a young man, not much older than yourself. He had been told from the moment he was born that he was superior to all those he knew and that he deserved the best. Not only that, but his parents had treated him in such a way that he was cold and aloof to all.

“Now, when this young man came to graduate from Hogwarts, one of his older friends took him aside and introduced him to a man that he had been hearing much about for the latter years of his schooling – this man is now better known as the Dark Lord.” Lucius sighed, and paused in his recital, reclining in the chair for a few moments before resuming his narrative.

“Perhaps foolishly, the young man was extremely keen to align himself with the Dark Lord. His father advised him against it, but he disregarded the advice and took the mark of the Death Eaters. He enjoyed it immensely, for in these ranks his superiority was reinforced, and it allowed him an outlet for his more – unconventional – tastes. It did not take long for him to become certain that he had made the right decision, for the Dark Lord was fast gaining power, and the young man had become one of his most trusted lieutenants.

“However, a few years after this, the young man’s father died, and he became head of the family. It was imperative that he took a Pureblooded wife, and he did so without delay. He did not marry for love; it was an arrangement with the lady’s parents. In fact, when she moved to the manor, it soon became apparent that it would be impossible for love to bloom between them. He found her vapid and boring, and they barely spoke outside of the bedroom. They had one child together, a son, but she never conceived again.

“This sham of a marriage only served to strengthen the emotional lessons learnt in childhood, and he pushed his son away before they even began to form an appropriate relationship. Something soon happened to drive everything else from his mind, though. It seemed that the Dark Lord would soon seize overall control, and the Death Eaters were fully prepared to reveal their true allegiances to the wizarding community. But the Dark Lord fell, defeated by a mere child. It appeared to all that he was gone for good, and those who supported him were in grave danger from the authorities, who were determined to track down those who had committed such horrific crimes.” Lucius paused again. “Are you still with me, princess?”

Lexy nodded, frowning. “Of course.” Tentatively, she asked, “what did you do to avoid capture?”

Abandoning all pretence of story-telling, Lucius switched into a first person narrative. “Luckily, I had worked hard to strengthen my position in society after my father’s death, and I had many influential friends. I simply spun them a tale of being held under the Imperius Curse. A few sizeable donations helped, and I was soon cleared of all charges. Nonetheless, I am sure it won’t surprise you to hear that I was deeply unhappy in these years. I cannot deny that I enjoyed committing the atrocities that the Dark Lord asked of me during his reign.”

“Such as what?” Lexy asked in horrified fascination.

“Oh, the normal,” he said dismissively. “Torture, rape, murder and such like. You cannot pretend to be unaware that I have a taste for such things; you will have heard the tales in the Daily Prophet before the Dark Lord’s recent victory. I was by no means an unwilling participant. In the years that my master was indisposed, I had no such outlet, and my wife and son often bore the brunt of my anger. I was deeply relieved when the Dark Lord rose again and I was able to resume my activities.”

Lexy sat up in bed, an old Daily Prophet headline stirring in her mind. “But weren’t you imprisoned at one point though?”

Lucius nodded. “Unfortunately, yes. However, the Dementors had already deflected by then, so my incarceration was nothing compared to my master’s fury when he released.” He shuddered involuntarily before continuing. “It did not take long after that for the Dark Lord’s takeover to become complete when he killed Potter, and we reached the stage we are at today.”

“What became of your wife and son though, Lucius?”

“My son took the Dark Mark, but then defected,” he replied with a soft growling tone to his voice. “We are yet to find him, but I promise you that when we do, I shall kill him personally. Narcissa was murdered by the Dark Lord as a result of her failure to conceive.”

Lexy shuddered at his casual way of discussing his wife’s demise. “And you didn’t mind?” she probed.

“No,” he said bluntly. “I have explained that our marriage was a sham. Having to rape your wife to have any contact with her soon becomes tiresome. Her death frees me to have a marriage of the kind that I have always desired; namely, a partnership between equals with love and respect, with the aim of raising a family.”

“I cannot guarantee you love, Lucius, but I promise I will respect you as my husband. And as soon as I have my brother back with me, I will do my best to give you the family you desire.”

“I can ask you for no more.” He glanced at the clock and started. “Lexy, you have let me speak for too long. You are tired, and you need sleep. It has been a stressful day.” He looked at her hopefully. “Do you have any objection to me sleeping in the bed with you? If it will make you too uncomfortable I will take the chair.”

Not knowing why she trusted him, Lexy nodded. “I would not deprive you of your bed, Lucius, and I may as well get used to sharing my sleeping space.”

Lucius took off his robe, noting with a smirk the blush that spread across Lexy’s face, and he climbed under the sheets. Tenderly, he lent over and kissed Lexy softly on the lips. “Goodnight, princess.”

Lexy fell asleep almost instantly, the surprise still evident on her face. To his consternation, though, Lucius was still unable to sleep. He had revealed rather more of himself to her than he intended then, and felt out of sorts. No-one else had ever been privy to so many intimate details of his life. He stared across at the sleeping woman, and to his consternation felt an unfamiliar tightening in his chest. Attributing it to unfulfilled lust, he turned his mind to the problem of retrieving the child from Avery so that he could finally take the beautiful young creature next to him for his own.

He frowned; it was doubtful that he would be able to take the child without assistance. However, if he asked another Death Eater for assistance, they would discover that Lexy was not yet formally attached to him, and he did not doubt that they would attempt to wrest her from his grasp. Suddenly, his mind presented him with the answer to the quandary, and he brightened. He would contact Remus Lupin tomorrow and ask for his assistance; the werewolf was not allowed to take a pureblood wife, so would not be a danger. That resolved, Lucius fell asleep quickly, his arm draped across his future wife.
