Consequences of Love and Lust
“Hold me, baby, try to think of how you made me
Hold me, baby, while the world gets bored and lazy
And hold me, hold me tighter than I ever thought I could be
Tighter than you'd hold a memory”
Be My Drug, The Wildhearts
Lucius started as Aurelia ran out of the cave. He caught her by her arm, and swung her towards him. “He knows,” she moaned. “He knows…”
Lucius shook her gently. “Aurelia, darling, speak to me. What’s happened?”
Aurelia stared up at him desperately. “I need to talk to you, Lucius. I was forbidden from telling anyone, but now he knows…”
“Knows what?” asked Lucius, concern etched on his face.
Aurelia paused, then took a deep breath. “My mother was the Pendragon, Lucius. My father was a Potter.”
Lucius gasped. A smile slowly spread across his face. “The Dark Lord must be delighted, Aurelia. Why are you so worried?”
Aurelia thought fast. “If Dumbledore finds out that I have revealed it, he will suspect me. I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone, Lucius.”
“I am sure that our Master will not pass on this knowledge freely,” he replied reassuringly. “Did he say much on the subject?”
Aurelia started to breathe normally again. “Only that he was pleased, and saw great potential. Oh, and there was just one more thing, darling.” She blushed.
“Really?” Lucius said, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
“He gave me the impression that he rather wants to see a child from our union.”
“It would be unwise to displease him, certainly,” mused Lucius. “I always wanted more children; Draco was never what I really expected.”
Aurelia felt as if her heart was expanding. She had never really considered having a child before, but the thought of having Lucius’ child was one that she was beginning to love already. “Really, my Lord?”
Lucius nodded, and seemed pleased. “Yes, my Lady. The idea of you bearing my children is one that I have dreamed of for a long while now.”
“In that case, I think we had best return to the manor, darling. There is work to be done, is there not?”
Lucius smiled, and pulled her into his chest, his arousal already evident. He Apparated the pair of them back to the manor, and they held each other tightly as they moved through the house, stumbling over the obstacles in their way. Finally, they reached their bedroom, where they paused to gather their breath. Aurelia’s chest was heaving, and Lucius shook with desire as he looked at her. He pushed her up against the wall, and held her arms above her head. Lucius panted, and fumbled as he pulled off her robes, leaving her standing there in a red corset and pants. He gasped, and struggled to retain control.
Aurelia too was feeling incredibly aroused, and wanted nothing more than to feel the man she loved inside her. Then a thought struck her. “Lucius, stop.”
He stared at her with urgent, aroused eyes. “What, Aurelia? For Merlin’s sake, I can’t hold back now.”
She giggled. “I suppose now would be the time to remove the contraceptive charm, my love.” Lucius smiled, and waved his wand, muttering the counter charm, before returning to the task at hand.
Finally, they were both satisfied, and Lucius and Aurelia made their way over to their bed. They settled under the sheets, and Aurelia rested her head on his chest. “Lucius?” she murmured.
“Mmm?” he replied tiredly.
“Isn’t it incredible? Despite everything, we are here together, and everyone knows it. On top of that, we could have just created our child. Darling, does life get much better than this?”
Lucius planted a soft kiss on her forehead. “No, Aurelia. I cannot imagine a better life than the one I have now with you.” Content, they both fell asleep.
Lucius woke first the next morning, and he lay still so as not to disturb Aurelia. He felt slightly uneasy. This was never how he had imagined things turning out. All his life, Lucius had been selfish – he freely admitted that. He did things only when they would benefit himself, and rarely considered others; his career as a Death Eater was proof of that. When he had met Aurelia, he recognised the symptoms that others had described to him as those of one who was falling in love, and that shocked him. Lucius never wanted to be dependent on another, but his love for Aurelia left him entirely in her hands. When he felt it begin to take him over, he had tried to fight it. Lust was something he could deal with; it had an easy solution, after all, and he never had to fight to solve it. Love, however, particularly the intensity of the love he felt for Aurelia, frightened him. Finally, though, Lucius realised he had lost his battle against it. Aurelia was his life, and he would gladly lay everything down for her. Without her, life was not worth living. That did not mean, however, that he had changed as a person. He smiled as he thought about how life would change now that the Dark Lord was back. Once he was in power, and now he had Aurelia at his side, he would be free to indulge himself however he wanted. Yes, thought Lucius, life was sweet.
Aurelia sighed contentedly in her sleep, and turned so that she was pressed closer into Lucius. Lucius smirked wickedly. It seemed a shame to waste their first day living together asleep… Gently, he rolled Aurelia off his chest, and kissed her on the lips. She stirred, but did not wake. He straddled her hips, and leant his head forward so that his hair was brushing her chest. With that, Aurelia’s eyes slowly opened, and widened. “Good morning, darling,” she murmured.
Lucius stayed silent, and merely shifted slightly and softly ran his hands over her waist, tickling her. She wriggled, and moaned with pleasure. Suddenly, with one swift stroke he buried himself inside her, causing them both to gasp with elation. Aurelia moaned loudly, and rolled Lucius over so that she was on top. They moved together and continued until they were both spent. Aurelia collapsed on top of Lucius, and laughed.
Lucius looked intensely into her eyes. “Marry me, Aurelia.”
Her face sobered. At that moment, the consequences of her decisions of the past few years rushed through her mind – and she found that she did not give a damn. “Yes, Lucius. I accept.”
Lucius laughed out loud, and swept her into his arms. They quickly dressed, then wandered down to breakfast hand in hand. “Lady Aurelia Malfoy,” Lucius pondered. “It goes well, doesn’t it darling?”
Aurelia smiled, and squeezed his hand. “Perfectly, my Lord. It will be wonderful to be able to finally tell the world that I’m yours.”
Lucius nodded, and they sat down at the table. A house elf scurried in, and bowed in front of Lucius. “Excuse me, Sir?”
“Yes?” he snapped.
“There is a visitor for Master and the Lady Aurelia, he is waiting in the hall.”
Lucius frowned at Aurelia. “A little early for visitors, isn’t it my Lady? Never mind, let us go and greet our visitor for the first time.” They smiled at each other, and Lucius put his arm around her waist as they walked to the entrance hall.
Severus Snape stood there waiting for them, wand at the ready. Lucius moved swiftly in front of Aurelia. “My, Severus, it certainly is rude to greet an old friend with the tip of your wand,” he said smoothly.
Aurelia looked at Severus, and saw him quietly exhale. She was touched as she realised that he had come ready to defend her if necessary. “One can never be certain these days, Lucius,” Severus replied.
She moved, and stood by Lucius’ side. “Good morning, Severus. How can we help you this early in the day?” she said, acknowledging him with a small smile and nod.
He pursed his lips, clearly unsure. “I merely came to offer you my congratulations for moving in together.”
Lucius smiled cruelly. “You will find that we have more to celebrate than that, Severus. This morning, I asked Aurelia to marry me, and she accepted. The ceremony will take place as soon as can be arranged.”
Severus paled. “And was this upon the Dark Lord’s request?” he asked harshly.
Aurelia flushed, and her hurt was apparent on her face. “I would have thought that you of all people, Severus, would realise the depth of my feelings for Lucius. I accepted his proposal freely and of my own choice.”
Severus refused to meet her eyes, addressing Lucius instead. “You must be delighted to have finally secured her, Lucius.”
Lucius nodded. “Certainly, I am ecstatic that Aurelia loves me enough to marry me. However, I would rather like to remind you that my fiancée is a person in her own right, and makes her own decisions, and as such I would prefer that you do not refer to her as an object or prize to be won.” He raised his eyebrows challengingly at Severus, and pulled Aurelia towards him protectively, all the while making it obvious that he had his wand at the ready should it be needed.
Unsurprisingly, Severus backed down first. “Of course, of course… I must take my leave of you now; I have a lot of work to do. Lucius, Aurelia.” He nodded briefly, and then left.
Lucius laughed coldly. “The fool is jealous, it is plain to see. As if he could ever aspire to have someone as wonderful as you in love with him, Aurelia.”
Aurelia smiled faintly, and returned his kiss. “Would you excuse me for a little while, darling? I’d like to sort through my trunk a little, and it would perhaps be better for you to tell Draco of our engagement in private.”
“Certainly, my Lady. Do not be gone for too long, though. It seems that the more time I spend with you, the less I can bear to be apart from you.”
Aurelia hurried along the corridor to the room where her trunk had been left. She loved the manor, but sometimes she felt that its size was a little excessive considering that only three of them were living there. A thought had struck her as Severus left, and she realised that she had to speak to the Order before he did. Finally, she reached her trunk and threw her robes over her shoulder in her hurry to reach the mirror. “Sirius Black!” she called into it.
Sirius’ face appeared almost immediately. “What’s the bastard done? Don’t worry, sweetheart, we’ll get you out,” he said frantically.
Aurelia laughed sadly. “For once, Sirius, Lucius isn’t being a bastard. Has Severus arrived at Headquarters this morning?”
Sirius began to shake his head, then turned away. “That’s him coming now.”
“Quickly, Sirius – I need to speak to you and Uncle Albus before he does. Please, Sirius, hurry.”
Sirius paled, and rushed down the stairs to find Albus. Aurelia caught snatches of their conversation, “Aurelia…says it’s urgent… No, Severus it will have to wait, Aurelia is more important at the moment…”
Finally, the background noise subsided and Aurelia could see Sirius and Albus both peering into the mirror at her. Albus spoke first. “Aurelia, do you need someone to come and get you out?”
“No, thank you Uncle. I am perfectly safe. However, I needed to tell you what has occurred before you hear a jumbled version from…other sources, shall I say.”
Sirius grimaced. “Don’t worry, I wouldn’t believe a word Snivellus says anyway.”
Albus frowned. “What happened last night, Aurelia?”
“Voldemort summoned us both. He spoke to Lucius first about the Department of Mysteries – he is aware that the Order is posting guards there – then spoke to me privately. He uncovered the truth about my heritage, but luckily, he is not displeased. I convinced him that I had not told him because I feared he wanted to kill all Potters, not just Harry. He assured me that I am safe.”
“Why?” questioned Sirius.
“Voldemort said he saw great talent in me when I was a child, and wishes to cultivate that talent for his own ends. The only other order I was given was that he wishes for Lucius and I to have a child. Lucius and I are both more than happy with that idea, so we are trying for a baby,” Aurelia stated with a slight blush.
Albus nodded slowly. “If you are with child, Aurelia, it will keep you out of the front-line of the fighting, which is certainly a good thing. Was there anything else?” he asked shrewdly.
Aurelia nodded. “You will hear it from Severus or in the papers shortly, I am sure, but Lucius asked me to marry him and I accepted. It is something I decided upon entirely freely, and I would be glad to know I have your support.”
Sirius scratched his head. “You know neither of us approve of it, Aurelia, but if it keeps you safe and you are happy then I cannot complain.”
Aurelia heard footsteps in the corridor outside. “I have to go,” she said hurriedly. “I’ll try and get in touch again soon.” Had she looked down again, she would have seen a tear trickle down both men’s faces.
Lucius came into the room, and smiled as he saw the number of robes scattered over the floor. “This is organisation, darling?”
Aurelia leaned against the trunk, and smiled back as she looked up at him, the mirror safely hidden at the bottom. “I was looking for the dress I wore to the Ministry ball, darling. Remember that night?”
Lucius sat down beside her, and put his arm around her shoulder. “Of course I do. You looked so beautiful that night, I knew that there was no way I could ever be happy until I had you by my side permanently. Even now, sometimes when I look into your eyes it takes me by surprise.”
Despite the doubts of everyone else, Aurelia knew in that moment that Lucius loved her. It did not matter to her what he did to anyone else – he was the man she loved, and he wanted to marry her. That was all she needed to know. She slid over onto Lucius’ lap, and cupped his face gently in her hands. As their lips met, the familiar feeling of electricity returned, and Lucius wrapped his arms around her waist. She slid her hands down, and moved them softly under his shirt.
Another house elf peered nervously round the door. “I is sorry to disturb Master and the good Lady, but there is another visitor downstairs for them, and she does not wish for to be kept waiting.”
Lucius snarled angrily, his frustration evident. “Send them away, give them money, whatever. Just get rid of the damned visitor!”
The house elf trembled. “But Miss Bellatrix said that she must see you both now, no matter what. She seems very angered, Sir.”
