Chapter 7

Sirius slowly took each step up to the boys’ shower room. He used the traditional muggle soap and water method to clean his pant leg, just for a change. His hand scrubbed at the spot absently, as his mind ventured to thoughts of Hermione writhing in his lap. Sirius noticed that he had become rock hard while holding her, and his erection was still very present, begging to be touched. He sighed longingly.

Sirius moved his hand up from the spot on his thigh, and touched his arousal lightly. The intense feeling nearly made him weaken at the knees. He couldn’t hold off any longer. Looking briefly around the shower room, he unbuttoned his pants and pulled them off quickly. He then decided to remove his shirt, too, and step into one of the shower stall. Sirius turned the water on, and it came beating down on him while he brought his hand to his huge erection again. He moaned as he gripped it, wrapping his fingers around it and stroking and pulling. He felt the pre-cum lubricate his stroking. Under the hot water, Sirius put his other hand against the stainless steel shower wall for support. He imagined Hermione spreading her legs on his lap, and inserting himself into her as he tightened the opening of his hand around his throbbing cock.

Closing his eyes, he pumped faster and faster, panting in the humid air. The tight ring concentrated now on the wet tip of his erection. Sirius squeezed it harder, and stroked it faster, and after a few more hard jerks he spurted warmly onto his hand, and some on the shower wall against which he stood. He slowly fondled himself as he relaxed, and enjoyed the spray of hot water against his body.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ showers, Hermione was patting her hair dry and reflecting on the events that had transpired recently. Everything was happening and changing so fast, and to top everything off, she had just had an orgasm in Harry’s godfather’s lap! She thought of how much the feel of Sirius’ hands had aroused her. It was almost frightening how much that man turned her on. She of course was still in love with Remus Lupin, and planned on being faithful to him, but Sirius was definitely going to be a distraction from now on.

“Hello again, everyone.” Said Hermione, as she entered the common room after her shower. She smiled brightly at Remus, then walked over to the table seating Harry, Ginny, Ron and Neville and began playing with Ginny’s hair wistfully.

Soon after, Sirius came downstairs and walked past the table toward Remus. Hermione couldn’t help but take in his shower-fresh scent and look at his long wet hair and how his shirt clung to his torso. She bit her lip and moved in her seat a little as she watched him, then when he met up with Remus, she averted her gaze to the lines in the wood of the table. She loved Sirius’ stark features, and she thought about him for a while, still staring at the table. He has such intense eyes, and wonderful grin, and he looks like he’d give it to me roughly…he seemed to enjoy having me against him, too…I bet he’s real long and smooth and…

“Hey, Hermione?” She heard, snapping her back to reality. She looked around and saw that Sirius was the one who called to her. Uh oh…She thought.
“Uh huh? What is it, Sirius?” She answered.

Sirius beckoned her with his finger, and she walked over to him, trying to act normally.

“Remus and I were thinking of going to Hogsmeade this afternoon. Would you all like to come?” Asked Sirius kindly. Hermione sighed.
“I’d love to. I think we all would. When are we leaving?” Said Hermione.
“Oh, probably around four.” Said Sirius.
“Okay. Great.” Said Hermione with a smile. Then she joined Ginny again.
Remus and Sirius talked over earl grey tea, while Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny and Neville all lazed around in squashy chairs, passing the time until Hogsmeade.

The excitement in Hermione’s belly was growing. She couldn’t wait to shop in Hogsmeade again…Perhaps browse for some stress-relieving teas and some pumpkin shaped lollipops and edible shampoo. The friends started a game of exploding snap, but just as Ron was losing the first round, Remus and Sirius came over and rushed them all into getting their scarves and such so they could leave. Hermione and Ginny ran upstairs to the girls’ dorms and ruffled through their trunks to find their cutest muggle-style scarves, toques and gloves, while Ron, Neville and Harry just grabbed anything warm they could find. Hermi and Ginny thought they had better look adorable for their new beloveds. Hermione checked herself in the mirror, straightening her grey wool skirt and mauve fuzzy sweater. She threw on her black wool trench coat and tugged Ginny’s arm to get going. When they were all finished, the group met downstairs, and practically ran through the fat lady, off to the village of splendour and novelty.

Everything was amazing in Hogsmeade, as always. The winding streets were busy with witches and wizards excitedly shopping for Halloween and Samhain decorations, treats, attire and groceries. The first place Remus and Sirius led the group was the Hog’s Head Pub to warm up with some hot cider. Ron, Harry, Ginny, Hermione and Neville squeezed into the cozy corner booth, and Sirius and Remus settled down at the table next to them. While Ginny and Remus had a craving for hot cocoa, the others ordered apple cider. Hermione noticed, however, that Sirius ordered a shot of firewhiskey. She watched as he downed it without making a face…she thought about how Remus seemed to be much more delicate than Sirius…she didn’t think that was a bad thing exactly, but she wondered what it would be like to have both of them around for her different moods…or maybe both of them at the same time to…you know, get some contrast going…she thought naughtily.

Hermione sipped her hot cider, tasting the cinnamon and feeling the warmth trail down the path into her stomach. It seemed to warm her whole being. Her cold cheeks and nose began to thaw and she felt incredibly cozy and happy. She enjoyed being with her friends so much and drinking hot cider in one of the most awesome villages. Not to mention being able to look over at two of the most gorgeous men she’s ever met and know that she has been intimate with them as friends and otherwise. She just sat there quietly, observing everyone talking and drinking for a few moments. Then, something strange snapped her back to reality.

“Hullo Severus” Said Remus. Severus Snape had just walked through the door. He stood next to Remus, talking quietly, most likely either about the weather or Remus’ potion. Hermione was in shock and felt her cheeks thaw out a bit too much. Harry and Ron turned quickly to look at Hermione, then took up staring at their glass mugs with tremendous interest. Harry instantly remembered the way Severus’ hand held and guided Hermione’s head as she took him in her mouth. Harry didn’t really want to think on this, especially because he felt an erection starting. Damn it! Harry said to himself in his head, as he pulled his sweater down to cover his arousal. Hermione eyed Snape, taking note of his slightly less pretentious facial expression as he talked to Remus. Whenever Sirius tried to say something, however, the expression came back full force. Severus Snape had always thought that Sirius was somewhat of a scoundrel, and the fact that he had often become a flea-bitten dog didn’t help his opinion. Sirius didn’t seem to care too much though. For a fleeting moment, Snape glanced toward Hermione bashfully. Not long after that, he went up to the bar for something to drink.

Hermione’s heart started to drop as she became more consumed by guilt, regret and awkwardness. A couple of old witches came through the opened the door, and the bitter breeze seemed to hit Hermione extra hard. She sunk in her seat, lost in thought and tuning her friends out. Remus watched her as her cute little cupid smile turned to a mysterious scowl, and he wanted to do anything in his power to make her happy.

“Uh…I’ll be right back, Sirius…” Said Remus distractedly. Sirius just watched his friend get up and walk over to Hermione. He then smiled to himself. Moony the Romantic…hah… He thought.
Hermione was startled when she felt the warm hand of Remus Lupin caress her shoulder. She looked up sharply, then forced herself to smile after she realized she had been scowling and being moody, shutting out her friends. She felt bad.

“Can I talk to you for a moment, Hermione?” Asked Remus.
“Mm. Sure.” Said Hermione, as she finished a sip of her hot cider. They strolled around the bar, then into the dim hallway where the washrooms were.
“What’s making you unhappy, Hermione? You can tell me.” Said Remus.
“Oh, Remus, you don’t have to worry about me. I’ve just been thinking a lot lately about some things that have happened recently, that…maybe weren’t for the best.” She replied.
“Oh…I see.” Said Remus dejectedly. Realizing how it had sounded, and noticing the hurt look on Remus’ face, she felt even worse.
“Oh no! I didn’t mean what we did, I meant…” She struggled, trying to predict the consequences of telling him about Snape and Draco and the mind control for a moment, “Before you, I was confused, and did some foolish things. And now I see how I should’ve just…waited…for you.” This rendered Remus speechless for a second.
“It’s okay, Hermione. You probably had to go through certain things to come to some sort of decision, right? Everyone does. You can’t predict everything, even if you are a brilliant witch.” He comforted.

Hermione smiled up at him. Her expression showed him how trusting she was of him, how open, how loving. He just wanted to kiss her deeply, but he didn’t know if that would be appropriate at this time, or in the middle of the Hog’s Head. He didn’t have to think anymore, as soon as Hermione put her cool hand to his neck and pulled him toward her timidly. Their lips met softly at first, then pushed and opened in a passionate kiss. Lupin’s fingers dove into her hair and caressed the back of her neck. All the warmth Hermione had lost to sorrow rushed back to her and manifested in her cheeks and under her skirt. When the kiss ended, Hermione felt light-headed, and Remus noticed his erection was against her abdomen. He quickly pulled away to straighten himself up. He was quite bashful, and didn’t want everyone in the Hog’s Head to see him making out with one of his ex-students, and walking away with a huge erection. Hermione put her hand on his cheek, and said,

“I’ll meet you back out there, Remus” and with that, smiled and walked out of the hall. Remus went into the men’s room to make himself presentable. As Hermione walked back toward her table, she felt Sirius staring at her. She looked over at him, and he grinned so brightly, Hermione nearly melted. She tried to give him a weird look and then sit at her own table, but he gestured to her.

“Come here.” Said Sirius. Hermione awaited an explanation, trying to prevent going over to him and wanting to jump him right there in front of Lupin and everyone.
“Come here for a second.” He said again. She walked over obediently.
“Sit.” He gestured at the seat next to him.
“What’s up?” She asked innocently, taking the seat.
“Nothing…” He said mischievously. Hermione was unbelievably intrigued, even turned on by his mystery. He held her with his steel gaze, and she couldn’t look away. Funny thing was, he wasn’t even using magic. She gazed back at him with bated breath waiting for him to say something, but instead she felt his hand sneak underneath her skirt and up her inner thigh. She gasped and flushed immediately. She wanted to stay and feel his long fingers play with her, but she was worried about the consequences. She closed her legs and slightly moved away from him, looking around worriedly. He pulled his hand away and smiled at her.

“Sorry. Let me make it up to you.” Said Sirius. He grabbed a shot of firewhiskey and slammed it down in front of her. Hermione was so confused, she just sat there with her mouth slightly parted and eyes wide. Sirius pointed at the shot.
“Drink up.” He said. Hermione looked around and saw Remus coming out of the washroom. Severus Snape stopped him at the bar, and they seemed to engage a long conversation, so Hermione relaxed a little. She picked up the shot, put it to her lips gently, then downed it. She tasted the spicy cinnamon alcohol leave a trail down her throat, and it warmed her every nerve. She felt a little funny, and looked back at Sirius. He was leaning on his hand, smiling at her charmingly. Hermione licked her lips of the flavour, staring into his eyes, wanting to taste his lips instead of her own. She wanted him to touch her again, so bad, but he didn’t. He sat contentedly for a few moments, as if teasing her. Then, suddenly, Remus returned to the table. Hermione tried her hardest to act like nothing had happened.
“Well, how about we check the candy shop” Said Sirius, his enthusiasm to leave almost mocking Hermione’s need for his touch at that moment. It was such torture for her.
“Yes, let’s.” Said Lupin.

Then Ron, Harry, Ginny and Neville joined them from their table and were getting excited about all the candies they can bag. The group started to file out of the pub, and Hermione waited to stand, in case she stumbled. She was actually weak with desire, and she felt warm and fuzzy from the shot. She stood slowly, and watched Sirius as he waited behind with her. She gave him a look as if to say “Why are you torturing me?” and he simply smiled back at her. She turned around, facing the door, and made to pick up her scarf and hat from the next seat. As she was slightly bent, Sirius looked at her slender legs and the back of her skirt, and the images he had seen while gripping himself in the shower flooded back into his mind. He found himself uncontrollably coming up behind her. He brushed himself against her behind, and she nearly collapsed. Hermione, too, was slightly out of control when her body automatically arched back, trying to feel him fully. Sirius caught himself and pulled away. He saw Lupin and the gang standing outside with their backs to the pub. Hermione straightened up, and without looking back, walked through the door to join her friends. Sirius and Hermione acted normally as best they could as they all walked down the street to the candy store.

When inside the store, Hermione’s eyes were filled with stripes and vibrant colours and all shapes and sizes of tasty edibles. Luckily, she was distracted from her urgent need for Sirius. Hermione and Harry walked over together to the flavoured popcorn counter and took a peek at what they had to offer. Harry looked at Hermione a few times, then decided to ask her something that was bothering him…

“Er, Hermi? Can I ask you something kind of—personal?” Harry asked timidly.
“Sure Harry, of course!” Hermione exclaimed as she looked excitedly at the strange colours and flavours of popcorn.
“Well…do you think it’s weird to enjoy watching people…you know, do things?”
“Not really. What sort of things?”
“Er. I mean like, people having sex, or undressing or whatever.”
“Oooh…Harry’s a becoming a voyeur!” She teased.
“I’m serious, Herm.”
“Oh I’m sorry Harry. You shouldn’t be so ashamed of it. I’ve never watched before, but I’m sure it’s fun. Whatever floats your boat, eh?”
“Yeah I guess. Okay.”

Hermione moved over to the rock candy and sucker section, followed by Harry. One lollipop really caught Hermione’s eye. It was dark pink with white star shapes all the way around. She paid 1 Knut for the lollipop, then unwrapped it and put it on her tongue. She was pleasantly surprised by its strawberries & cream flavour. Harry was still trying to choose one for himself when Hermione walked over to where Remus and Sirius were standing.

“Find a good one, Hermi?” Asked Remus.
“Mph. Msh Mrry Gmph.” She attempted with the lollipop still in her mouth. Sirius laughed.

She plucked it from her mouth with a pop and smiled at the two men happily. She noticed, however, that Sirius looked down, biting his lip almost sheepishly when she took it out of her mouth. His long, charcoal black hair hung forward as he bit his lip, and Hermione thought it was the most gorgeous sight she had ever seen. Hermione glanced around the store, and she saw Harry holding a yellow lollipop. She then saw Ginny run up to him and lick the pop in front of him and then start giggling. Hermione smiled to herself. Ron and Neville purchased bags of goodies, and then they were all ready to leave.

By the time they got outside, it was dusk, and chilly. Remus took Hermione’s hand as they walked for a while, then let go to catch up with Harry and Ron. Sirius tagged along behind Hermione. She turned back, and caught a glimpse of vulnerability in his eyes. She waited for him to catch up to her, and there, in the dark, she pulled him against her roughly. He took hold of her arms and pushed her against the shaded wall of the store. Sirius looked down intently into her beautiful eyes, and nearly bruised her lips as he kissed her hard. He pulled away, and she stared up at him with glassy eyes.

Hermione threw her lollipop onto the ground, amongst the dusty leaves, and dropped to her knees in front of Sirius, still looking up at him longingly. He looked a little taken off guard, but gave her a look of approval, and so she began undoing his black pants urgently. She felt how long and rock hard he was under his boxers, and she gasped a little as she pulled him out. Feeling the sexy girl grip his cock, Sirius was overcome with sensation, and he put his hands against the wall of the store for support. He watched as she prepared for him, and felt that finally, he can get what he’s wanted for some time…and Hermione thought the same thing. She finally was doing this to someone she thought unattainable. And that made it all the more exciting. Hermione guided him into her warm mouth, and began stroking and sucking exquisitely. She tasted his pre-cum, and at that moment, felt warmth flow from her own depths. She went faster as she felt his need grow, and his breathing became sharp.
Sirius was completely euphoric as Hermione sucked and moved faster. He moaned slightly, and she could feel him begin to tense. She began to moan as well, and then she felt him flow into her mouth with relief. Hermione swallowed and stood up fairly quickly. He pinned her to the wall again and kissed her deeply. She looked down and noticed that he hadn’t done up his pants yet, and wished she could hike up her skirt and pull him inside her right then. But, she knew, they had to get back to their friends, or at least meet them at Hogwarts. Neither of them wanted to cause any worry. Sirius made himself decent again, and they walked hand in hand down the path in cool darkness.

The walk was long, cold and dark, and was, for the most part in silence. As they neared Hogwarts, Hermione Granger and Sirius Black trod quicker, occasionally splashing in a miniature bog of dew in the high grasses. The crescent moon hovered over the central tower of Hogwarts, and it was a clear night, so it shone as if it were a sun in some other dimension. Soon they were running, and they let go of each other’s hand as they came into the light pouring from the cozy windows above.

The air beyond the large wooden doors of Hogwarts felt like a sauna compared to the bitter winds outside. Hermione was flushed with the contrast, as she and Sirius searched the lobby for any sign of Harry, Remus and the others.

“Hmm…they must already be up in the common room. Let’s go look.” Said Hermione. Sirius nodded, and they made their way to the staircase.

They kept a good six feet between them as they walked quietly, and reached the Fat Lady, who, by the way, was not happy about having her martini interrupted. The common room was empty, though the fireplace reached out and filled the room with its heat and crackles. After a few slightly awkward moments, Hermione suggested they each go off to bed…separately. Sirius agreed, feeling guilty about betraying Remus this way. He slumped onto a squashy couch, closed his eyes, and fell into deep thought. Upstairs in the dormitory, Hermione took a deep breath and tried to relax. She hung her heavy woollen coat on the knobbly coat tree by the window, and undressed slowly. She, too, was deep in thought about what had happened between she and Sirius. Slipping into her warm flannel pants and t-shirt, she realized that what had transpired was especially bad because she had found in Remus true love, and without having to put a silly spell on him.

Trying to overanalyse as usual, she figured she must just be stuck in a very sexual, expressive selfish mode…a mode she resorted to only weeks ago, and naturally, it would be difficult to come out of…Right? She thought. As Hermione lay there, she continued to figure things out, and she remembered reading something once—what a surprise—about self-sabotage. Yes, that must be it. She said internally. Then, with a long, almost sorrowful sigh, she shut her eyes and tried to drift off to sleep. Between the realms of the conscious and subconscious, Hermione realized her guilt had tied her stomach into a giant knot, and it was immensely painful.

“Oh, fuck sleeping!” Hermione whispered to herself in a tizzy. She hurled herself moodily out of bed, and went to the window for no reason, other than perhaps to feel the cold of the glass on her forehead. She looked out upon the grounds in the darkness, until her eyes traveled all the way to Hagrid’s tiny hut. There was still smoke billowing calmly from the chimney of the hut, and she stared at the light coming from one of his open windows. Hermione saw Hagrid’s not-so-tiny silhouette bustling about the kitchen, and by the looks of it, making tea. She thought about how she could really go for a tea at that point, especially to help settle her stomach, if that were indeed possible. Along with that realization, she thought of how Dobby and the house elves had built up a select clientele for after-hours services. She obviously was put on the top of their list what with her campaigning for elfish rights.

Putting slippers on as she walked, Hermione walked briskly out of the room and down the stairs. She politely asked the Fat Lady to open up, after passing a sleeping Sirius in the common room. Once again lost in thought, Hermione arrived at the funny, disproportionate door to the kitchens. She knocked three times. A rather homely, ill-looking elf answered with an exasperated look on his face.

“Yeah? Wot you wawn?” He grumbled. With a slight look of shock, even disgust, Hermione replied.
“I’m on the list. I’d like to come in for a” But she was interrupted.
“Name?” The interestingly repulsive creature barked.
“Hermione Granger…” She said. The elf turned and yelled into the kitchen.
“Can I let an Ermoney Grangah in for a” He interrupted himself this time, “what was it you wanted?”
“Tea” Hermione said patiently, though she felt like yelling a little herself.
“For a TEA!” The little guy yelled into the depths of the kitchen again. While he was turned, Hermione looked him over and noticed he had a tattoo on his flabby, malnourished arm. It read: I heart love-potions. She held back a snicker, and said in her mind, You and me both, buddy. She was still trying not to laugh as he turned back to her and motioned for her to come into the kitchen.

“Thanks, um, Mister…” She tried.
“Anglebutt” He replied. Hermione had to smile again.
“Um…Engelbert?”
“No, Anglebutt.” He said, finishing their bizarre conversation.

Hermione settled at one of the large wooden tables and awaited some nice tea. It was Dobby himself who was working the late shift, and was delighted to see her.
“Hello there, Miss Hermione! Here you go. Dobby bring you good tea!” He said, absolutely proud of himself.
“Thank you, Dobby.” Said Hermione with a smile.

Being in the warm kitchen, with all the quirky elves had made her feel better already. She sipped the hot tea carefully, staring at the table while she blew on it. She heard Dobby scurry off to another part of the kitchen. It felt as though someone were watching, so Hermione looked up to make sure Dobby had indeed gone off, which he had. Then she turned around and found that Professor Snape was sitting at the table behind her. She wondered how he had gotten on the elves’ list, because he was so horrible to them…but she wouldn’t dare ask! Snape just looked at her. Hermione tried to think of something to say to make it less awkward, but he broke the silence for her.

“So…what are you doing here?” He asked, in a casual tone.
“Oh…I’m just having some tea” She replied.
“Well then why do you look like someone shot your mother?” He asked, uncharacteristically.
“What? Well, if you must know I feel like shit, and I think I’m turning into a huge asshole even as we speak.” She didn’t know where the courage came from to speak such vulgar language in front of him.

“Join the club. I own it.” He said, with an actual smile!
Hermione, this has to be the strangest night ever…She thought. Hermione found herself smiling at him, as a sign of her comfort and appreciation for his new sense of humour.

“Well don’t just smile, come sit with me. You might as well, now that you’re here.” Said Snape.
“Well, okay.” And with that, Hermione sat across from her professor, and they struck up conversation about why they needed tea, why they liked tea, how late it was, then deeper things such as their opinions on why there was a giant squid in the lake, why astronomy was so important to learn in school, why Snape wanted to be the DADA teacher, and eventually, why Hermione had used witchcraft to gain control over him. Surprisingly, the Potions master was quite understanding.

“Well, as I said when I first…suspected you, I have actually done something like that myself. It completely backfired, by the way. I didn’t have nearly as much fun as you had.” He said with a slight laugh. She blushed at this, but shared his humour in it. She was shocked to find that her stomach-ache had gone long ago, and she was smiling and chuckling again. With her stern professor at that!

They both finished their teas, and were finally sleepy. Severus realized the reason he could be open and comfortable with Hermione was that she had opened up to him—in more ways than one—first, and she stopped trying to show off and be invincible. When she had tried too hard, she was just one of the many phoney people he knew and hated, but now it was different.

The two of them stepped out of the kitchen after saying goodnight to Dobby and Anglebutt. As they stood in the chilly hall, there were several things going through their minds…for Severus, thoughts of why he was so soft around Hermione were plaguing him, but how it felt nice to let go of the heavy weight of bitterness…and just for fun, how he could easily see her breasts underneath the shirt. For Hermione, her head was whirling with ideas of a friendship forming with Snape, but how weird that would be, but then again, how they had already been intimate, and just for a little fun, how she could easily remember how big he was under that robe.

“Well, have a good night, Miss…Hermione.” Said Severus.
“Yes. Good night, um…”
“Severus.” He smiled.
“Okay. Severus.” She smiled back. As they were parting, he touched her shoulder, somewhat like he would’ve done if she were Dumbledore, obviously just to be safe.

Hermione made it back to Gryffindor, crept past a still sleeping Sirius, up the stairs, and into her cozy bed, all with a subtle smile of contentment. Preparing to sleep for the second time that night, Hermione took a few deep breaths to stay relaxed, and drifted off dreamily.

Her dreams were odd, but entertaining that night. One was of Hagrid coming down into the fireplace like a giant Santa and bringing out bags of his titanium-hard biscuits for everyone. Another was of her riding a muggle bicycle through an unknown village. She passed unfamiliar people quickly, then came to a little shed. The door opened by itself, revealing a lovely selection of flavoured teas set out on a table for testing. Severus Snape wore an apron and encouraged her to try the different flavours. She tasted one she really liked. It was iced chai. She thought it tasted like melted molasses cookies. The last dream was of being curled up by the fireplace in the common room. She was reclining on the floor in front of Remus. Beside them lay Snuffles the dog. Ginny was there, petting Snuffles on the head, and Harry and Ron were putting on different songs in the background. Hermione’s eyes drifted from the bright, warm fire to the cool dark of the window, and stared at the moon absently.

And then, Hermione awoke. Foggily, she noticed it had become a new day; and a new day means a fresh start.
