Chapter 7
A/N This is a long time coming. Anyway enjoy.
“Harry, Ron, why don’t you come in.” She was trying to be nice. But the anger she felt for Malfoy was colouring her voice.
The boys did indeed come in. And went straight for the sofa. Lucky for Hermione, Malfoy had left the common room altogether.
“Hermione, who did you hit?” Harry started. “Your hand is bruising.”
“You didn’t come here to ask me about my hand Harry, and you know it.”
“Herm, you are right. Ginny just tackled us in the hall. And she threatened to hurt us if we didn’t say we were sorry.”
Hermione sighed. This was a long time coming, but she was glad that Ginny said something. But she was kind of disappointed that Ginny had had to threaten them to do it.
Ron looked like he was going to burst. “Hermione, I know you are probably really mad at me, but would you be able to help me with my defence of the dark arts essay?”
She giggled at the same old Ron. She also guessed that Harry might need help with his too.
“What part do you need help with?” They sat and talked for what seemed like hours before a knock sounded at the door. Hermione got up and walked to the door and opened it.
“Herm, if you want me to knock some sense into Draco for you … oh!” Ginny looked like she was going to faint when she saw Harry and her brother sitting on the sofa drinking tea.
“Hermione,” Harry started, “you didn’t tell us you were having problems with Malfoy.”
“Do you need us to help you take care of him?” Ron asked with a little joy in his voice.
Hermione once again studied her feet.
“No, I’m sorry Ron it’s nothing you can help me with. And Ginny,” she turned to face the red headed girl, fire coming back to her eyes and voice. “Could you please not mention it again?”
Harry sat upright. “Herm please don’t make Ginny feel bad. She couldn’t have known you didn’t want us to know.”
Ginny gave Harry such a look that if it where possible he would have burst into flames right then and there. Harry was always protecting her, even when she needed no such thing. With a disgusted look on her face she turned to go, but halfway through her turn the room began to shake.
It seemed like the whole castle was coming apart at the seams.
The seal above the fireplace crashed to the ground and split down the middle. The bookshelves slid across the floor spilling the books as they went. The four students had just braced themselves against the shaking. Fear plastered on all their faces.
Hermione could hear the dishes in the kitchenette crashing to the floor. The silverware in the drawer clanking about, she was totally unprepared to hear the drawers start to fall out spilling their contents.
A large chunk of plaster from the ceiling hit Ginny on the head. Harry watched in horror as she crumpled to the floor unable to help her.
The tremor only lasted for about thirty seconds but it seems like hours to the four in the room.
When Harry could move again he rushed to Ginny’s side. He scooped her up only to drop her again when a searing pain ripped through his forehead.
Ron was so shocked at what had happened that he didn’t even notice what was going on around him “Was … was that … was that an earthquake?”
Hermione was in motion, she grabbed Ron’s shirt on her way by. “Shut up Ron something is wrong.” She got Ron to take his sister while she took Harry. She wrapped her arm around him to support him.
The walk to the door was longer then she had thought. Harry was putting on weight.
Ron and Ginny where ahead of Harry and her, and she could see a trail of blood drops on the floor. This was worse then she thought.
Harry’s body went rigid in her arms. His eyes flew open, and his arms flew out to his side. His body seemed to move on it’s own.
“I have returned,” His voice boom louder and deeper than was natural for Harry. “Those who apposed me shall die by my hand.”
Harry just seemed to crumple after whatever or whoever had said its piece through him was done.
Ron nearly dropped Ginny in fear at the words. “That doesn’t sound good for any of us,” he croaked.
Hermione just looked down at the boy on the floor. This really couldn’t be happening, not now. They where supposed to live normal lives now that Voldermort was dead. But with everything back to normal in the Golden Trio, Hermione felt they could handle anything that fate threw their way.
