Some answers
The Orb of Fate by SnapesAngel
Disclaimer: As everyone should know I do not own any of these characters, they belong to J.K Rowling. (Unless I see fit to add some from my imagination, but honestly, if Rowling would want to use them I wouldn’t be complaining) Please don’t sue me considering I don’t have anything worth having.
Katie K: Well… when there married, but I don’t know exactly when that will happen… not too soon because I have some things planned before then. But it will be in here!
Yay! Harry finally gets some answers, but honestly, I think he would have preferred not to. Let’s just say his not happy with the situation and the ‘union’ with Snape. I’m thrilled though and that’s all I care about *smiles*. I know you’re all dieing to know about Snape and when he will enter in this story and I frankly don’t know. I was considering him being there when Harry talks to Dumbledore but couldn’t come up with a good enough reason and to tell you the truth, I think that Snape would keep away from Harry as much as possible in a situation like this. Of course he will be in there eventually, like always; hang in there. Read, enjoy and review.

When Dumbledore spoke he seemed twice his age and Harry was quite concerned about the old man even if he was also beginning to lose his patience completely. “Harry, you\'d better sit down for this.”
Harry, hoping for some answers, eagerly sat himself down in one of the chairs.
“Remus, could you inform the others about this? Harry and I need to talk in private.”
Lupin nodded and left the room without a word.
The old man sighed again before he began. “Do you know anything about The Orb of Fate?” He asked. Harry\'s negative response drew another sigh from Dumbledore. “I better start from the beginning. It is said that The Orb of Fate was present at the beginning of time when the world was created. Some even claim that it was The Orb that actually created the universe. When there was only chaos The Orb brought forth order and light into the world. Nobody has ever seen the original Orb but there are smaller ones in the universe which are exact echoes of the original. Some people claim that it holds every detail of the future inside and is merely directing people to fulfil that future; others claim that the Orb decides the future, or fate, to ensure that the order in the universe is upheld.\"
Harry blinked at him and merely nodded that he should continue.
\"We don’t know. However, one thing that we do know is that it must to be obeyed. We can not know for sure what would happen if someone would refuse its command, but it is theorized that the chaos would return to the world and we cannot allow that since all of us would be blinked into non-existence.” Dumbledore paused from the lecture and rose to pace back and forth in the room. “Every smaller Orb has a Keeper. The identity of the Keeper is only known to The Orb itself because he or she has been selected by it.”
Harry frowned. It was an interesting story, but what did it have to do with him? “How do we know about it if it’s such a secret?” he asked.
“Merlin.” Dumbledore stated succinctly and earned another confused look from Harry. “Merlin was a Keeper. The Orb ordered him to document this information and to let people know about its presence. It is not often that The Orbs intervene in peoples lives. I, myself, only know of one time before. But now it has happened to you.” Dumbledore stopped. He silently waited for Harry’s reaction.
“To me? You mean this… this is real? From some ball that orders people around?” He stared at the letter and the word ‘union’ seemed to silently scream at him. Dumbledore nodded.
“The Orb of Fate, yes.”
Harry felt the panic rise inside. “What does that mean? I … I and… Snape…”
“Professor Snape.” Dumbledore corrected him which made Harry glare at the headmaster.
“What does it mean? What’s a union? Some sort of spell thing?” Harry asked hoping that it would be that simple.
The man in front of him gave him a pitiful look. “It means that you and Professor Snape will have to get married.”
Harry squeaked and jumped out of his chair. “Nonononono, this is… it’s the twins! They made it up! It’s not real!” he almost screamed.
“I would not be telling you this if I did not know it was real. Professor Snape also received a letter from the Keeper the same day your uncle and aunt did. He immediately preformed the incantation that you just did and his spell had the same results. Both letters are real, Harry. I am sorry, neither of you deserve this but The Orb has spoken…” he trailed off and Harry stood there petrified. He and Snape would marry?
“NO!” He screamed at the top of his lounges. “The Orb is wrong!” Dumbledore seemed angry at his statement but didn’t say anything.
“I am sorry Harry. I am. But I’m afraid it will have to be done with or without your consent.”
Harry stared at the headmaster. “Without my consent?”
“Yes, we have your uncle and aunt’s signatures. You are under seventeen so it is their decision.”
Understanding finally dawned on him. Lupin had made Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia sign something that would force him to marry Snape. That’s what Vernon had talked about and his aunt… This couldn’t be happening. Harry felt the floor start to move under his feet and he grabbed onto the table to prevent himself from fainting.
