The Second Summer Ch. 3

Ron Weasley stood motionless in the doorway. His mouth open in horror.

Severus grabbed the edge of the blanket and tried to cover Hermione’s body from Ron’s view, but the blanket was trapped underneath him. Recovering from her bliss, Hermione first looked at Severus, wondering at his reaction, then followed his eyes to the doorway.

Ron’s face was white. His eyes were wide.

“Get out!” Hermione ordered abruptly. “Go!”

Ron fled, slamming the door behind him.

“Damn!” Hermione muttered. She looked apologetically at Severus. “I think I forgot to lock the door,” she added lamely.

She climbed off of him. His desire had fled.

“I’m sorry,” she apologized.

“Does he always come barging in your room like that?” Severus growled. He slid over to one side to make room for her on the narrow bed.

“Pretty much. Ron is a bit dim.” Hermione sighed, “I really am sorry Severus but I think I’d better go and make sure he’s okay.”

Severus narrowed his eyes, “Why wouldn’t he be?”

“Because he’s in love with me. He’s always been in love with me. It must have been pretty awful for him to walk in here and see...what he saw.”

Although his initial reaction was to be annoyed, Severus also felt a very pale shadow of sympathy for the Weasley brat. When he was Weasley’s age, he too had had to come to grips with the reality that a girl he loved was getting serviced by another man, a man he hated. The pain no longer existed although the memory of it did. But he certainly wouldn’t have gone walking into other people’s rooms without knock

Hermione was looking at him questioningly, as though seeking his permission. Severus snorted, “Go to him if you feel you must.”

She slipped on her silk kimono and threw him a kiss as she went out the door.

Ron’s door was ajar and Hermione, in bare feet and with robe wrapped tightly around her, quietly pushed it all the way open. Ron was flung face down on his bed and his roommate was questioning him.

“Ron?” Hermione asked.

“He won’t talk to me,” the roommate complained. “Any idea of what happened?”

“Yes. He walked in on me at an inopportune moment.”

Ron rolled over to face her, his eyes blazing. He bellowed loud enough for the whole corridor to hear. “Inopportune? Hermione! YOU WERE FUCKING SNAPE! And you were LIKING IT! Did you hear yourself?” Ron’s voice took on a sarcastic falsetto. “You were moaning ‘ooh Severus! ooh Severus! Why is it okay for him to fuck your brains out but I can‘t even take you out to a club?”

“Maybe because he doesn’t reduce me into a series of four letter words,” she replied icily. “I’ll excuse you this time Ron, because I’ve been your friend for years and I know that’s not the type of person you really are. You’re just upset. But you owe me a big apology. I’m very sorry that you saw what you did but you really should have knocked.”

Ron was fighting tears welling up in his eyes. “But why Snape, Hermione?” he whimpered softly. “Harry, I could take. Or Seamus, or Neville, even one y owy own brothers! I almost could even take Malfoy! At least they’re all good looking. But Snape!”

She settled down on his bed and patted his hand, “Because I love him, Ron. And he loves me. We’re alike.”

“No!”

“Yes, we are.” Hermione smiled at him gently. “You know what’s really odd? Severus once told me that if I ever left him, please not to replace him with you. Funny how you two are jealous of each other.”

“I’m not jealous of that ugly old git!” Ron declared.

“Good! Then I’m going back to my room and I’ll see you in the morning.” She turned for one last look but Ron had buried his face in his pillow again. His roommate shrugged his shoulders at her.

As soon as Hermione had gone to comfort Ron, Severus began to think. He may as well go back to Hogwarts. It would be a long walk from the apparating point in Hogsmeade to the school in the dark but he didn’t really want another run in with one of Hermione’s school chums. He got out of bed and started to d. He. He could hear Weasley bellowing his obscenities down the hall. Severus was just buttoning his last button when a voice startled him.

“Hi! You must be Sev. I’m Julie.” A tall girl with long dark hair extended her hand to him. He took the hand and was surprised by her firm grip. “Hermione talks about you constantly. I feel like I know you already. So what’s going on? What’s all the yelling?”

“Mr. Weasley walked in without knocking,” Ses exs explained.

Julie started to laugh. Severus didn’t know what to think of her. She saw his curious look and apologized, “Sorry! It must have been embarrassing. I take it you were, uh, in flagrante delicto?”

“Decidedly.”

“Oh well, old Weasel-Boy will live.” Her eyes took in the fact that Severus was fully dressed. “Hey you’re not leaving are you?”

“Under the circumstances I thought this would be a good time to make an exit.”

“But Sev! You can’t!” Julie grabbed him by the arm. “Do you have any idea of how long she’s been wanting to see you? And you never come to visit or let her visit you and you never write her letters, well, hardly ever anyway. You’ll break her heart if you leave now! Hermione loves you!”

Severus looked her full in the face, trying to figure out what part of her comments was pure American love of drama and how much was real. “You think so?”

“Of course she loves you! Doesn’t she tell you so all the time?” Julie gave hishovshove backwards and he landed off balance on the bed. “Don’t you dare leave that bed and break her heart or I’ll sic Weasel-Boy on you! I swear it!” And with a quick wave and a smile she went out the door.

“Americans!” Severus muttered darkly. But he considered the girl’s words and started unbuttoning again. For tonight anyway, he was going to sleep with Hermione in his arms.

Severus awoke stiff and sore the next morning. He had slept with his arm under Hermione and he no longer could feel his hand. He was fully aware that the minute she shifted her body all the blood was going to come racing painfully back into his fingers. With his good hand he reached out and stroked her beautiful long hair and grazed the tip of a rosy nipple with the edge of his thumb. It responded deliciously. This had been one of his favorite games in the months they spent together in Karnipolia. He enjoyed playing with her while she slept.

He ran his index finger down her nose and she wiggled it. Then he leaned over and gently kissed her sleeping lips. Hermione’s eyes opened.

“Good morning!” she smiled as she bounced up.

“Ahh!” he cried out as a thousand pins and needles punctured his arm.

“You didn’t sleep with your arm like that did you? Why didn’t you just roll me off?”

“I didn’t want to,” he admitted grumpily. “Have you got any coffee around this place?”

She replied, “I‘ll see what I can do,” and a moment or two later handed him a steaming mug.

“I’ll apologize right now about the coffee. I know it’s not up to your standards but we have to rough it here.”

He grimaced, “Instant?”

She nodded. “There’s really no way to do it otherwise. What did you do when you lived in dorms?”

“I didn’t drink coffee then.”

Hermione looked shocked. “I can’t imagine it! I almost believed you had it in the bottle as a baby.”

“I only took up drinking coffee to keep myself alert back in the dark days. It‘s an agreeable addiction,” he admitted.

“Are you ever going to tell me about the dark days?” she asked, fingering the mark on his arm.

Severus pushed her hand from it, leaned forward and kissed her nose. “No. Now tell me where I can go in this place to have a shower and loan me a towel please.”

“You might want to take your wand with you too,” Hermione commented. “I don’t think you’re Ron’s favorite person this morning.”

A shower chasedy moy most of the aches and pains. Severus rubbed his hair briskly and wondered how long he could li thi this morning and still apparate back in time for his class. As he left the bathroom he saw Weasley standing in a doorway down the hall. Ron shot Severus a poisonous glare and Severus returned it. No wands needed, apparently.

When he got back to the room he found Hermione still nude but performing her perfume ritual in front of the mirror. He sat on the edge of the bed.

“I’ve missed watching you do that,” he growled in a sexy voice.

She smiled and dabbed the last drop of perfume on her temple then turned and climbed into his lap. She wrapped her long naked legs around his clothed body and kissed his forehead.

“I wish you didn’t have to go back so soon,” she mourned. “Summer still seems far away.”

“Maybe I can get down for a weekend before then?” he offered tentatively.

Hermione gave him a devastating smile. No words could have been sweeter. He wasn’t fighting her this morning. It must have been something to do with the Ron incident. Or maybe he just came to his senses? She gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. Severus returned it with enthusiasm. The previous night notwithstanding, Hermione still felt all the pent up passion of months without him.

“Why don’t you take those robes off again for a little while?” she urged.

“I really need to be leaving soon.”

“And I really need you before you leave,” she whispered back. “I need you now.”

“I need you too,” he admitted, acknowledging the longing that was now pressing against her. Last night‘s unfulfilled desire came flooding back. But there was very little time left if he was to get back in time for his class.

With Hermione still sitting in his lap, they undid a few buttons and shifted around until she had access to his body. She lifted herself up straddled him and slid quickly down onto his erection. He hissed in enjoyment as their bodies became one. Her body was slick, hot and tight, a perfect fit. Hermione took control of their lovemaking again but today sonceoncentrated on him, teasing him, urging him on. She hoped it would make up for where Ron had so rudely interrupted the day before. It must have been frustrating.

“Good?” she asked in a breathless voice.

Severus moaned , “Oh gods, yes!” as Hermione began using her muscles in the way she discovered the day before. He bit into her neck, making her gasp, but she kept a steady rhythm and soon his mouth went slack against her throat. He began breathing heavily then he groaned and stiffened.

“Oh god, Hermione, stop! Stop now! ... No! No, don’t stop! Don’t stop! Please! I can‘t...I‘m...!” She felt him begin to throb inside of her. He was making soft moaning noises into her ear and gripping her tightly as his body convulsed.

When his climax ended he raised his head and looked at her shame-faced. “Sorry, I couldn’t hold back. That‘s the only problem with having you up there, ignoring me when I tell you to stop.” He flopped backwards on the bed, leaving her still straddling him.

“I don‘t have to do everything you say Professor Snape! We‘re not in school anymore,” she teased.

She lifted herself off of his lap and he surveyed himself with dismay. “Damn! I can’t go back to Hogwarts looking like this!” The front of his robes and trousers were smeared with something unmistakable.

Hermione got out her wand. “I’ll do this for you if you do something for me.” She did a fair job of tidying him up then stood still while his wand made sure her womb stayed empty. “Are you ever going to tell me how you learned to do that contraception charm so well?” she asked.

“No,” he replied simply. “You know perfectly well there are some parts of my life that I prefer not to remember.”

She looked troubled and Severus reached out and kissed her hand. “I will tell you Hermione that it was not necessarily to prevent my own offspring from growing. There have been times when I was called upon to ... to hide evidence of other’s wrong doing. I won’t deny I’ve been with other women, but it was a long time ago. It was different back then, rather sordid when it did happen at all. I was never very popular. And I really wish you wouldn’t make me talk about it.”

She nodded and kissed him.

hey hey were walking down the steps of the building they ran into Julie.

“Oh Julie. I want you to meet Severus!” Hermione said.

“We’ve met already,” Julie winked.

Hermione looked confused.

“She came in last night to see what all the commotion was and we scraped up an acquaintance,” Severus explained. To Hermione’s roommate he commented, “I trust you won’t be setting Weasel-Boy on me?”

Hermione looked at Julie reproachfully, “You didn’t tell Severus we call Ron ‘Weasel-Boy’?”

Julie smirked. She skipped down the steps and away. “Hope you two had fun!” she called over her shoulder.

Severus got back to Hogwarts with just a few minutes to spare before his advanced potions class. He ran into Dumbledore outside the dungeons.

“Ah! There you are Severus! I was beginning to get worried. Apparently the land of scented mauve letters kept you longer than you had anticipated.” The old wizard’s eyes twinkled and surveyed the wrinkled robes with amusement.

Severus nodded and looked away as the headmaster continued, “You received another letter a few hours ago. Alas, neither mauve nor scented. I left it on your desk.”

Severus went into his office and picked up the letter. There was no return address. The envelope snapped viciously onto his fingers as he opened it. Inside was a single sheet with a single line.

“Watch your back Snape!”

Apparently ‘Weasel-Boy’ meant business after all.
