I do not own Harry Potter that is J.K. Rowling's honor. Making no money, just enjoying writing.
Slanting Moon
Happy Samhain!
Sorry this is so short, everyone.

Lucius breathed an audible sigh of relief when Dobby finally found the right key to the manacles. He sat up and winced slightly as the entire room seemed to dip and spin wildly.
“Should be more careful,” Bubble said. “Drugged and not quite right just yet.”
“I’m rather well aware of the fact I’ve been drugged, Bubble,” Lucius said testily. “Otherwise, I’d hardly be here.”
Bubble shrugged. “Bubble will check passageways to make sure no one is there,” he said before heading toward the door.
“Be quick about it,” Lucius said. “We don’t know when those other two terrified house elves will inform my brother that I’m free.” He nodded toward the two still huddled together in the corner.
“They’ll not go anywhere and not tell,” Bubble said, glancing over his shoulder with eyes narrowed at Magenta and Columbia. They both squeaked and hid their faces against one another in fright. Bubble smirked a little and wandered off toward the door. “Mad, mad, mad. Dead is dead but not in the head of one that loves.” With that, he ambled out into the hallway leaving Lucius and Dobby staring after him in confusion.
“Did you understand a word of that, Dobby?” Lucius asked.
“Dobby is never understanding anything Bubble is saying, Master,” Dobby said, shaking his head.
“That would make a pair of us, Dobby.”

“He’s free, Liren,” Narcissa said, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She was so tired lately but she supposed that was to be expected considering her condition.
“Hmm? What was that, my angel?” Liren asked, not bothering to look up from the scrying mirror he had brought into the bedroom.
“Lucius. He’s free from the rack you strapped him to,” Narcissa said, chewing nervously on her bottom lip.
“Ah, of course,” Liren said, tilting his head slightly to get a different angle in the scrying mirror. “He escaped far more quickly than I had anticipated. Bravo for my little brother.” He clapped slowly, still peering into the mirror.
“But, Liren, if he’s free then he’ll go . . .”
“Directly to where the caves and castle join, my beloved. That girl is his weakness. Add to it he’ll want to check on Draco as well,” Liren said, finally looking up. “Then they’ll have to come through the house to get out. That is when I’ll have them all.”
“Liren, you’ll make sure that Draco . . .”
“Have no fear, my darling. I shall make certain that our son remains safe. I swear it,” Liren said, kissing her forehead. “We’ll be a proper family after this, my angel. With me in my rightful place, the Malfoys can once again rise from the rubble and ash my dearest brother has left us in.”
Narcissa smiled. “I love the idea of us being a family as we were supposed to be.”
“As do I, my angel. You should rest more. You’re bound to be tired in your condition. Let me handle tying up all of these messy loose ends.”
She smiled and settled down into bed again. “That sounds like a marvelous idea. Can’t stay up too late all things considered,” she said, patting her still flat stomach.
