Chapter 56
“Are you saying I’m fat!?” the world was greeted with early in the morning three months later.
“No, no of course not dear. I would never say that,” Harry said trying to placate his wife as she threw a pillow at him.
“I didn’t say anything like that dear. I said the doctor didn’t want to you eating any fatty foods.”
“Ohhh, my…I’m sorry Harry,” Hermione said as her emotions went from extremely angry to sad in an instant.
“Its okay love,” he said as he reached to hug her.
“You fucking bastard don’t you ever come near me again!” the both of them heard from Ali and Draco’s end of the house.
“What could that be about?” Hermione asked.
“I don’t know dear. I’ll be right back. You sit and eat your breakfast alright.”
“I hate this you know.”
“What?”
“Having to stay in bed all the time. I feel like a beached whale. My back, ankles, hell my whole fucking body hurts. I’m always eating or going to the bathroom. I can’t even see my feet when I do stand or walk around. I can’t get up by myself at all. I hate this! I really do!”
“I know dear. I know. And I’ll let you rant to me as soon as I get back from seeing if Ali’s killed her husband or not, ok?”
“Okay.”
A few hours later found Harry and Draco hiding from their wives in Harry’s study visiting with Remus who had brought baby Teddy.
“How did you handle all the mood swings, Moony?”
“I hid as much as possible and pacified her as much as humanly or creaturely if you prefer possible.”
“Do you think we’re ready for this Remus?” Draco asked. Draco had come to think of Remus as family but he couldn’t get comfortable enough with him to call him Moony like Harry did even if he know knew why he called him that.
“You can have all the gizmos and gadgets of the baby raising world. You can practice and read all the books you want, but you’ll never be ready. But when you hold that baby in your arms you’ll know nothing and everything the world has to offer in that moment. You’ll know you would anything for that baby you’re holding. Don’t worry boys you’ll be amazing fathers I can tell. You’re already worrying. That’s how you know. If you don’t worry you’re screwed.”
