Chapter 54
“Well first Lord Potter-Black how did you and Lady Malfoy-VanLint reconnect?”
“Let’s see I guess it would have started after I met my godfather Sirius again in third year, but Ali didn’t come into the picture until he needed a place to hide out. He instantly thought of Anthony and Marion’s home as Marion was James’ sister. After the summer holiday started Dumbledore came to pick me up at the Dursley’s and brought me to the VanLint’s house where Ali and I met again. He was fulfilling the promise he’d made to our parents.”
Ali continued “During that summer Harry and I became such good friends that Sirius gave us a way to stay in contact once we separated.”
“Oh, that’s nice. But that still doesn’t explain why you and Draco are now family?”
“Well that part of the story begins later on during the summer before fifth year after Cedric was killed. Severus knowing Voldemort was back and that I would have a connection more than our usual took it upon himself to teach me Legitimacy and Occlumency even before I went to Dumbledore about Arthur Weasley being attacked by Nagini fifth year. As he was teaching me we learned that instead of what Dumbledore thought of as Voldemort getting into my mind was really me getting into his fishing for information. So, when Dumbledore assigned Severus to teach me Legitimacy and Occlumency under the guise of Remedial Potions I was really doing that.”
“Really? Then why did you go to the Department of Mysteries? And why is Draco an ally, you still haven’t answered that.”
“Well before fifth year Ali and I were secretly inducted into the Order of the Phoenix but Dumbledore still wanted to keep us in the dark about most things but Sirius and Severus our godfathers wouldn’t have it. So, in secret they kept us informed of the things that were going on and when I discovered Tom’s plan for Draco I went to Severus. Who then went to Dumbledore and informed him and this is when they came up with plan for Severus to kill him in Draco’s place. Knowing Tom’s plan for Draco we decided the safest place for Draco was Ali’s home because no one can find it. The reason why I went to the Department was because we figured the only way to clear Sirius’ name was if he was dead. I knew Severus wanted to go after him but I didn’t know the real reason, but now that I do I understand more why he was so adamant about that.”
Ali continued “Now the reason why he’s in the family is because while he was staying with me we fell for each other and after a while we got married. Along aside Hermione and Harry of course,” she smirked at the other couple at the table.
“That’s sweet but I must ask the question all are wondering…how did you defeat Voldemort?”
“Well, seeing as we’re the descendents of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor we’re elementals too. Harry’s fire and I’m water. We being the prophesized twins and Harry having been prophesized to have a power he knows not used our powers together against him. We combined our powers and used the combined attack against Tom and won of course,” Ali answered this time.
“I must say this right out Rita we don’t mind being public faces but we wish the public to let us have our privacy when we ask for it. Especially with the girls being pregnant and in our personal life. Though we greatly appreciate how everyone has been towards the situation with Severus and Sirius. We don’t mind people coming up to us for autographs, pictures, or to ask questions when we’re out but we wish everyone to know that when we ask for our privacy or don’t want to do something they respect that.”
“Of course Lord Potter-Black of course.”
“Good.”
“Ohhhh,” Hermione gasped as she sat back farther.
“Mione honey you ok?”
“Oh, yeah I’m fine just getting tired.”
“Maybe we should head back home. Put you girls down for a rest,” Draco said watching Ali squirm on her seat.
“Yeah I think your right Drac.”
“Ms. Skeeter I think this is the end of this interview. Good bye.” Hermione said standing up.
The four teens stood and left the Leaky Cauldron for their home where once there the girls went right to bed to sleep while the boys went to Harry’s study to write letters to family members and friends to check on how everyone was.
