Chapter Six
Fred had removed his grip on Ginny's arms and began to pace the carpet in front of her, occasionally tearing his gaze away from his sister to really concentrate. George continued to press her against the chair from the back, looking at his bother for direction.
"What to do!" Fred pondered for the third time, frowning down at Ginny.
"Here's a notion," Ginny tried, her voice sounding very small, "How about you simply letting me go? I mean-"
BAM!
Fred slammed his fist into her nose, and blood began to ooze from it. Ginny cried out and reached up tentatively, feeling the warm blood on her pale skin.
"Is that better?" Fred commanded more than asked.
Ginny just nodded her head tearfully, still touching the blood as it dripped from her nostrils onto her white shirt.
As Fred continued to ponder how to kill his own sister, George ran a finger slowly up her back to her shoulder and then over her collarbone. Ginny squeezed her eyes shut, tears now mixing with the blood coming from her nose
"
"What the bloody hell are you doing??" an angry voice shouted inside Ginny's head. "You have to get away from them! Now!" She looked up, blurry-eyed but determined to survive. Fred was pacing, his brow furrowed as he tapped the palm of his left hand with the wand in his right; George's grip had loosened, but apart from that she couldn't see his face so she didn't know if he was paying attention.
This was it. Ginny had to grab Fred's wand, curse him and George and make a run for the portrait hole.
Biting her lip, her fingers gripping the edge of the chair, Ginny flung herself at Fred, reaching for his wand. As if in slow motion, she ripped it from his hands and turned to curse them both, but George was too fast: his foot connected with the back of her knee, and Ginny shrieked as she fell to the floor in pain, the wand sailing out of reach.
"NO!!!!" she screamed, clutching her leg as she drug herself across the carpet.
"PLEASE!!!"
Ginny pulled herself toward the portrait hole, screaming in terror. Maybe someone would hear her...
Fred began to blast holes in the carpet very close to Ginny with his wand, laughing maniacally; the carpet had caught fire in several places. George walked up beside her, his eyes shining with laughter.
"You can make it Ginny!" he shouted, as if rooting her on. "C'mon, you can do it!"
Laughing, he kicked her hard in the ribs- a sickening crack followed.
Screaming even louder, Ginny clutched her side, now dragging herself with her right hand. She was just two feet from the door. Using her last ounce of strength, Ginny gritted her teeth, nearly blind from tears and pain, and heaved herself up, grasping han handle. But the door suddenly swung forward and Ginny gasped as her eyes met brilliant green ones and a sword sliced through her body and shot out the other side. Ginny's eyes bulged as the metal was ripped back out of her heart and she collapsed onto the carpet, wheezing. Barely alive, she turned her head and a single tear slowly rolled down her cheek.
Ginny looked at her attacker in disbelief and wonder, her lips parting slightly as she spoke for the last time:
"Harry...?"
A/N: So, what did you think? Did you expect Ginny to be killed? I sure didn't when I was writing it! LOL! Although the story ends VERY suddenly, I have no plans for a sequel. So, yes, I'm just going to be evil and never reveal who was really behind it all. Quite frankly, I never decided! Reviews make me a happy, happy girl.
