Out of Darkness

Scabior watched in amazement as the woman jumped out of the forest and stopped in the middle of the clearing. It was too far to differentiate her features. She didn’t turn around, not revealing her face.

He started towards the clearing, wand ready, when suddenly, his amazement reached its peak. Scabior saw her moving her arms, as if she wanted to stretch her muscles. And then the girl spread her wings. He expected her to turn into a bird, but that was it. His jaw dropped, his eyes widened. What the fuck was that? A few seconds later the woman disappeared in the darkness of the night sky.

He turned back to the rest of Snatchers and ordered them to move forward. They had to deliver the two Muggle-borns they had captured to the Ministry.

But as they were walking to their camp, there was a bothering thought lurking at the back of his mind, yet he couldn’t say what it was exactly.

Was woman he had seen the one whose perfume he could smell out there? If so, she must have spent some time there, in this forest, since the smell was so prominent. But something was wrong. The smell was too strong… And the woman was too far…

And from that moment on, whenever he recollected that night, he could smell this perfume and see those arms, moving delicately. Up and down, left and right…
