Chapter Six - Detentions - Part Two
A/N: Okay, now I'm sorta winging this (much like I do with most of my fics), so I don't really know how this will turn out. I do hope you're enjoying reading it, though! Please rate and review to boost my confidence in my Snarry shipping abilities! Thanks! - FallenAngel
To Arya...Um, I finished Revelations. Completely. Had it all posted and had reviews on the Epilogue and everything. Dunno how you missed it being finished. Sorry.

With a soft groan, Harry stood and stretched his back out. "Finally." He said aloud. It'd been a week since he'd run out of Snape's office. A week of scrubbing out cauldrons and potions' vials in detention. "I must have been stark, raving barmy to push him like that." He muttered, putting away the cleaning supplies. "I could have been drinking tea..."
"Done, Potter?" His professor sneered from behind him as he closed the cabinet. "You may leave. Tonight was your last detention and I trust we won't have to do this ever again."
Harry turned to face his teacher, frowning. "No we won't, Professor. You see..." He stopped, wondering if he should tell Snape it had all just been a bet. He sighed as he decided not to.
Severus watchedas Harry started to leave. The young man was pale, with dark circles under his eyes. 'He hasn't eaten much all week.' He thought a bit guiltily. 'Maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on him...'
"Potter." He called out, unable to watch the Savior of the Wizarding World walk out of his office defeated.
In a small, tired voice the Gryffindor responded, without turning around. "Yes, sir?"
Severus opened his mouth to offer words of solace, but stopped himself. 'Don't coddle the boy.' He told himself. 'His friends will comfort him.' With a little bit of a sneer, he said. "Do get over it. No one likes a pathetic child who can't handle a little rejection."
Harry's hands clenched into fists and he said, in a tense voice. "Don't worry, sir. I'm used to it by now, so I'll be fine." Without another word, Harry left Severus wondering what he'd meant.

Saturday Morning, Breakfast:
"Harry, your detentions are over." Hermione prodded gently. "We've been so worried about you. Tell us..."
Harry stood up. "There's nothing to tell." He turned and walked out of the Great Hall, leaving his friends to stare after him.
Hermione shook her head, staring at Harry's now-empty place beside her. Or more specifically, staring at the untouched food on his plate. "This can't go on!" She fumed at Ron, Ginny, and Neville. "He's barely eaten anything in a week!"
Neville nodded solemnly and informed them. "I have to water my newest plant at one AM, so I have a special alarm on my bed that only I can hear so I wake up in time to water it. Harry's been awake every night for the past week."
"This really can't continue." Ginny whispered sadly. "I hate the thought of doing this. It goes against everything I believe in. But I don't think we have much of a choice."
Ron pulled a face, but agreed. "I suggest we enlist Malfoy's help. He's the one Harry went to in the first place."
Hermione sighed. "I suppose our morals mean nothing right now. Ever since his detention last Friday, Harry's been wasting away, and something needs to be done."
"We'll talk to Malfoy after breakfast." Ginny decreed softly. "I just can't stand seeing Harry like this. Anything is better. Even..." She glanced up at the teacher's table, then sighed. "Even him." They all nodded in agreement.

Harry was sulking around the Room of Requirement, throwing and repairing a glass ball over and over again. "I can't believe them! Why won't they just leave me alone?" He grumbled. He yawned and a bed suddenly appeared. "I guess the room thinks I need a nap..."
Climbing onto the bed, Harry laid down, then muttered. "Unfortunately, I can't sleep." He sighed, then stared at the ceiling. "If I sleep, then I'll think about him again."
After about an hour of staring and slipping in and out of sleep, Harry got back up and left the Room of Requirement, returning to Gryffindor Tower to hide in his room.

"What do you lot want?" Malfoy sneered when Harry's friends pulled him into an empty classroom. "I've got things to do. Some people actually have lives, you know."
"Tormenting people isn't having a life." Ron snarled nastily. "That's called being an evil git."
Draco glared at Ron. "What would you know about having a life, Weasel? All you ever do is tag along after Harry. That's not having a life, that's called being a pathetic sidekick."
Ginny shot her brother a 'shut-up-before-I-smack-you' look and then turned to Draco. "Look, Malfoy." She said, having been elected as the spokesperson since she's the most diplomatic and had the smallest grudge against the blonde boy. "We don't like you anymore then you like us, but we need to know what's going on with Harry and Snape."
Draco's silver eyes widened in shock. "Don't tell me Potter hasn't told you all, yet!" When the Gryffindors all stared at either the floor, or each other, he laughed. "Merlin's balls, don't worry about Saint Potter! He's fine!"
Neville took a deep breath and said. "If he's fine, Malfoy, then why is he acting so odd?"
"What do you mean, acting odd?" Draco inquired, starting to look curious.
"Since last Friday," Neville replied. "Harry hasn't been eating or sleeping properly. He just sort of picks at food and dozes off every now and then."
"We're really worried." Hermione murmured. "You have a few classes with him, haven't you noticed anything different?"
Draco shrugged. "I don't generally pay him much attention, except during Muggle Studies, and then we just talk about the class. We still taunt each other, but not seriously." Hermione nodded, acknowledging that she'd noticed the lack of rivalry between the two boys lately. "He's been a bit quieter lately, and a bit paler, but I figured he was just sick or something."
Ginny sighed. "We thought it was something like that at first, but it's been getting worse lately. Not to mention that he gets really testy whenever Snape is brought up."
"He's been staring at him." Ron said darkly. "During meals, when he thinks no one is paying attention, he'll just stare up at the Head Table and he looks...odd. Not sad or hurt, though." He continued, noticing everyone else looked surprised. "He looks kind of confused, and a little angry."
Draco nodded again. "Say I agree to help you lot. What exactly do you want me to do?"
"We just want to know what happened during Harry's detention last Friday, since that's when he started acting this way." Hermione said quickly.
Draco sighed, but agreed. "Alright, I'll do it. But," He added quickly. "I want something in return." When they all nodded, the trademark Malfoy smirk slid across the Slytherin's face. "Perfect."

A/N: Um...hmmm. Yah, that was a bit more then just the detentions, sorry. His last detention was supposed to be longer, and there was originally going to be a discussion, a kiss, and then a fight between Snape and Harry at the end of it...but somehow it didn't seem right when I was writing it, so it didn't happen. Hence all the other stuff at the end of
the chapter that otherwise would have been part of the next chapter. This chapter is relatively short anyway and I'm sorry about that. I just sorta write and whatever comes out comes out, you know? Thanks to all my reviewers for helping me catch my plot bunny! It was your reviews that gave me the push I needed to write this chapter! Thanks so much, please continue reviewing! - FallenAngel
