Rini 3

The next morning when I woke up I found myself in the dorm just for Ginny and myself which was just fine with me. I got up and went into the bathroom to shower and get ready, today was the first day of classes for me. When I got back into my room Ginny was awake and waiting to get in the bathroom.

“Sorry I kept you waiting.” I apologized.

“No need to apologize; early bird gets the worm.” Ginny said through a yawn as she walked into the bathroom and locked the door.

I went downstairs with my book bag to find Harry and Ron. Instead I found fellow Gryffindors. “Have any of you seen Harry or Ron, by chance?”

A dark brown haired boy looked up from what seemed to be yesterday’s homework. “Yeah Herm, they’re up in their dorm getting ready. You want me to go get them?”

“No thanks, Lon-Neville, I’ll wait down here.” I sat down beside him as he started on his homework again. I took a glance at it over his shoulder and recognized it as Potions. “Mind if I take a look?”

He glance up at me and then handed me the paper. “Not at all. I would love the help I'm stuck on how this potion is used.”

I took his quill and started writing forging his handwriting perfectly. “Let’s see, eye of salamander there,” I muttered to myself, “and two frogs legs(chopped) there.” I kept muttering to myself before I handed him the parchment back with all the correct answers. “There that should pass.” he murmured a thanks and walked off. I leaned back rather pleased with myself and closed my eyes.

“I see you’re still a know-it-all in whatever world you come from.”

I wheeled around about ready to punch whoever had said that and say Ron and Harry standing there both wearing cheeky grins. "Ha ha very funny. You two blokes actually think you’re funny, do you?” I cracked my knuckles.

Ron paled and backed away some stuttering. “No, we didn’t, honest.”

I laughed. “Oh come off it Ronald I wasn’t going to hurt you. Honestly who do you think I am a Death Eater.”

“Well that mar-”

Harry jabbed him in the side. “Now I think you should come off it Hermione and let us go to breakfast.”

“Fine with me. Come on Ronald.” I placed my hands in the crooks of Harry and Ron’s arms and walked to breakfast with a smile on my face.

Later on in the day we were in our last class of the day, Transfiguration, and I had a terrible headache. We were working on turning our partners into a deck of playing cards and I just couldn’t concentrate.

“Hermione are you ok?” Ron asked preparing to perform the spell on Neville.

I turned away from Harry and looked at Ron. “Of course I’m ok. Why wouldn’t I be? Just concentrate on the spell so you don't turn Neville into a club or heart.”

Harry gave me a fretful glance. “You look a bit pale, Mione. Maybe you should see the nurse.”

“I’m fine. I tell you.” I turned back to face Harry and had to grab the desk to support myself. My head was spinning just from the sudden movement.

Harry, Ron, and McGonagall rushed over to me. McGonagall placed her hand on my forehead and frowned. “I agree with Mr. Potter. He will escort you, now go.”

I frowned but obeyed her and let Harry help me to the Hospital Wing. I almost collapsed twice on the way there, resulting in Harry carrying me the rest of the way. I was shivering despite the heat of dying summer and sweating profusely by the time we got there.

Madam Pomfrey rushed to us as soon as the door opened. “Put her there, Potter.“ she pointed to the bed closest to her desk and he put me down on it. “What’s wrong?”

“She had a headache earlier and I suppose it resulted in this. Right now she has a high fever.”

She nodded and rushed into her office coming back out with a vile of bright blue potion. “This will cool her from the inside out.” she said answering his upcoming question. “Hopefully it will get rid of her fever.” she made me drink it and stepped closer to Harry. “You can stay if you like. She may fall asleep due to the potion, but don’t worry she’ll be fine.”

As soon as she left his side Harry rushed over to my bed and pulled up a chair. “Are you ok?” he whispered, taking my hand. I nodded slightly and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

When I woke up Harry was still there holding my hand with his head on the edge of the bed, asleep. I looked to my left and saw Ron sprawled in another chair snoring. I smiled to myself and shifted to lay on my right side facing Harry. He must have felt me move because he lifted his head up and looked at me smiling.

“Hey.” he whispered.

“Hey.” I yawned. “What time is it?”

He looked at his watch. “3 am.” my eyes widened in shock and he stifled a laugh. “Don’t worry you’re fine; Madam Pomfrey came and checked on you at midnight she said you might have a slight headache but otherwise you could go back to your dorm in the morning.”

“Does she know what was wrong?”

Harry squeezed my hand. “She said it was just stress.” he paused and looked down at our hands. “Can I ask you a question?”

I laughed. “You just did, but go on.”

He didn’t look up. “How did you get it? The mark, I mean.”

My smile faded. “I didn’t kill anyone if that’s what you’re wondering.” he looked up at me. “I helped to get you in the Triwizard Tournament during fourth year.”

“Oh.” he smiled a little. “Can I ask you something else?” I nodded. “Would you be mad if I kissed you right now?” I shook my head and his smile brightened. He leaned over and gently kissed me before sitting back in his chair, still smiling. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.”

I smiled at him. “To me or your Hermione?” he blushed. “Don’t worry, I’m not upset. I understand that she had her place here as I did in mine. Just remember that I'm not as nice and sweet as her.”

“I bet she’s done gone and got herself in a butt load of trouble.” he laughed.

“Yes but with her grades I’m sure she’ll get out of it. Even though I'm good in school in my world I'm no where near as clever as she is.”

He stopped laughing. “I suppose.”

We stayed up a bit longer before we both drifted off to sleep again. In the morning I woke up to find neither Harry or Ron there.

“Madam Pomfrey!” I called.

She came bustling out of her office. “Yes?”

“Where did Harry and Ron go?”

She smiled. “They had class. Dumbledore gave you the day off. So you can do as you please, just try not to stress.”

I nodded and closed the curtain around my bed to change. When I was done I left for the kitchens to have a late breakfast. As I left there I contemplated on going to my room or finding Firenze to see if he had found anything out. I chose the latter and headed in search of his astronomy tower. Luckily when I got there he was on his break. I knocked on the door, and heard a “come in” from the other side.

I stepped inside. “Firenze.”

He backed away slightly. “Yes Miss Granger?”

“I was wondering. Have you found anything yet?”

He nodded. “Yes but I think that I should maybe speak with Dumbledore first.”

“Fair enough. Well I will see you later then.” I waved goodbye to him and went to the library to do my own research. By lunchtime I had had no luck in finding anything so I gave up and went to the Great Hall. On entrancing Harry and Ron ran over to me and walked me to my seat. “You guys I’ve been just fine all day there is no need to worry.”

“But we love you, Hermione, and we just want you to be ok.” Harry said. I looked him in the eyes and saw they were filled with honesty and love, and I blushed.

“That’s sweet you guys, but seriously I’m fine.” I started filling my plate with food and they took that as a cue to start as well.

The rest of my day was pretty much boring with no classes and no one to talk to, until fifth hour that is. Apparently Draco and a few of his friends had a free period. I was sitting by the lake watching the waves hit the shore and the few splashes the giant squid made. I laid down in the soft grass and closed my eyes to relax and then out of nowhere I was splashed with water. At first I thought it was just the squid and then a whole lot of water was dumped on me. I sat up quickly and looked around. Draco, Blaise, Parker, Crabbe, and Goyle were all doubled over with laughter. I stood up and walked towards Draco.

“You think that’s funny, do you?” he kept laughing. I punched Blaise in the face who fell over. “How about now? Do you still think it’s funny?”

He glared at me. “You’ll pay for that mud blood.”

I rolled up my sleeves and popped my knuckles, “Oh really?” Draco looked me up and down and stopped on my left arm. I just glared at him expecting an answer.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him to look at me better. “How did - How did you get that?” he was still looking at my arm. "Why would you go get a tatoo of the mark that from a man that you hate? Who wants to kill you and everyone like you."

“Voldemort.” I said as plain as day.

He stared at me. “How could Voldemort give you that dark mark? You’re a mud blood.”

I rolled my eyes. “Do you ever get tired of that word? Honestly, you use it enough to give anyone a headache.” he glared at me. “It might interest you to know that I am not from this world, dimension, whatever you want to call it. Where I come from I am pureblood, Harry Potter is dead, Voldemort is in power, and you and I are engaged.” I paused. “But you wouldn’t believe that, so I’ll leave you to your foolish games.” I walked past him and his friends and into the castle. When I made it to my dorm, after having a shower, the last class was over with and Ginny had just walked in.

“Glad to see you’re ok.” she said as she sat on her bed.

“Yep.” I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes willing myself to fall asleep. I was too tired to deal with anything at the moment.
