To Devour The Soul

A/N I would like to announce that I have finally got my very first flame from OX KING, honestly it's annoying to hear people bitch and moan about something you put a lot of effort into. So just to answer their review let me straighten out a few things.

1. I am aware of the fact that it takes at least two weeks for a tattoo to heal (I have four)

2. Just because Harry's new last name is Wolfe does not mean he is a wolf. (Duh!)

3. I did say that Dumbledore cast a healing spell on Harry's tat & piercings

4. I can give Harry as many piercing/tattoos as I want! My story MY choice

5. If you don't like it don't read it…I'm not forcing you to like it

Oh and I like the way you waited until chapter 5 to start hating on my story. Let's see you come up with something better.

Flashes of past deeds streaked across Jaden's mind, memory after memory more bad than good. Memories tainted with jealousy, hate, anger and pride far outweighed those of love, happiness and innocence. Jaden tossed and turned fitfully in his sleep, knowing what would come next. Seeing the scale tip with the heavily tainted memories Jaden saw his guide turn to face him.

["Your judgment Harry?"]

With a gasp Jaden sat straight up in the bed. "Guilty."

["Good kitten, when the time comes you will do well with your task."]

With a sigh Jaden reached over to turn off his alarm clock. It had not gone off yet but with five minutes left he might as well get up. Standing up stiffly Jaden quietly made his way into the bathroom.

["What's wrong kitten?"]

Letting the water bring him fully into the land of the living Jaden frowned as the memories lingered in his mind.

["Will it always be that way mother?"]

Deep hissing purrs rang through Jaden's mind. ["Of course not, but for now we will focus on guiding those to their judgments. When the time comes, then you will take my place and punish those found guilty."]

Rolling his eyes at smile he could hear in his guide's voice, Jaden turned off the shower deciding to let his hair air dry he pulled it all up into a messy ball and quickly pulled on his clothes.

["I thought you were going to actually be here to teach me this stuff yourself, not just be an irritating purr in my thoughts."]

["That's no way to talk to your 'mommy!' With that attitude I may never come to train you, now tell me about this master plan you have stashed in back of this little head of yours."]

A mischievous smirk spread across the pale boy's face. Passing a blurry eyed Jacob, Jaden made his way down stairs for a quick breakfast.

["I know something is going on with the Cullens. They are hiding something and I have a feeling that I should look into it. When I tasted his aura it was a sickening thick yellow that slithered around his body like a disease. I know he is not a muggle, so what is he mother?"]

["You know I'm not going to tell you that kitten. What fun would it be if I just told you about everything going on around here? You will find that out on your own."]

Sighing into his cereal Jaden absently nodded his head in understanding.[ "You just want to see me get into trouble don't you?"]

Giggles bounced around in his head. ["Of course I do! After waiting for you to come along for so long I deserve to have some fun, and watching you get busted is my idea of fun. Now hush I need to rest."]

A soft smile spread across Jaden's face. ["Sleep well mommy."]

Jacob shuffled into the room then grunting at the smile on Jaden's face. "Ugh, I hate morning people."

Blinking at the other boy Jaden snapped from his thoughts and focused in on the other source of his unease, Jacob. The boy was hiding something from him too and he was going to find out what it was.

"Well you're just a ball of sunshine this morning."

Jacob groaned and let his head fall to the table. "I'm exhausted."

Worry streaked through his veins at seeing his normally bright and shinning mate so down and barely there. "Did you not sleep well last night?"

A pained looked flashed across Jacob's face. "Something like that."

Frowning Jaden decided to let it go for now, he would be a hypocrite to be upset at Jacob for keeping secrets but it didn't mean he had to like it. Glancing at the clock he scowled when he realized he had to leave or he was going to be late. Quickly moving over to the still half asleep boy, Jaden cupped his face and pressed a kiss to the plump lips he was slowly beginning to care for so deeply.

"I have to go or I'm going to be late love. Hurry and finish you breakfast I don't want to hear about you getting detention for being late."

He pressed another kiss to the pout that had taken over Jacob's face. Jacob smiled and finally seemed to blink the sleep from his eyes. "Alright call if you get lost out there."

Jaden smiled over his shoulder and was out the door. He made it to the school with only a few close calls, parking next to Tyler's van he giggled at his friends' reactions to his car. Jessica and Angela cooed over how 'cute' his car was; while Tyler, Mike and Ben fought back their snickers. Angela only made it worse with her comment.

"Jaden your car is so cute! It fits you so well, tiny yet cute."

"I'm not tiny love; Tyler and I are exactly the same height." Jaden growled out.

The others seemed to find this hilarious. Rolling his eyes he glanced over at the Cullens and saw a curvy blond and big brunet standing around with the others. Passing his books over to Tyler he winked over his shoulder and made his way over. Alice smiled and looked to be fighting the urge to coo at him.

"Hello Edward, can I have a word with you and Bella please?"

Edward looked shocked while Bella looked like she wanted to cry. 'Merlin girl toughen up. So I hurt your feelings yesterday get over it.'

The blond girl sneered at him. "What do you want?"

Giving her a bored look Jaden fought the hiss that gathered in his throat. "I don't think I was talking to you."

She barred her teeth and stepped into Jaden's space. They were chest to chest, both staring the other down. "You smell like wet dog."

Jaden inched closer, their foreheads pressed together. "Is that fish I smell? Get over yourself hag."

The other Cullens seemed to be frozen in place, holding their breaths, waiting to see what would happen next. Slowly a smile spread onto the girls face and Jaden returned it. Stepping back she extended a delicate hand. "Rosalie Hale."

Accepting the hand Jaden returned her smile. "It is nice to meet you Rosalie, I'm Jaden Wolfe."

The blond nodded at the boy "I like you, you don't take shit from anyone."

The big dark haired man behind her burst into loud rumbling laughter. "My Rose has never taken a liking to anyone that quick, the names Emmett anyone my girl likes is a friend to mine"

Smiling at the man Jaden turned his attention back to Bella and Edward. "I just wanted to apologize to you for hurting your feelings yesterday Bella. When I heard about you and Jacob it kind of struck a raw nerve and I over reacted."

Bella quickly nodded and mumbled out something along the lines of "no problem" but Jaden really couldn't be bothered to pay her much attention. Until she showed some backbone he really couldn't make himself take her seriously. Edward smiled and said a short "thank you."

Alice squealed and bounce around the blond boy, Jasper.

'I love that name, he on the other hand is a bit dodgy.'

"Now we can be friends! We have to go shopping this weekend!"

Bella began to protest. "Umm...actually Alice I really don't want to go shopping."

Alice blinked at her in confusion. "Oh Bella, I meant Jaden, Rosalie and myself would go shopping. I know how much you hate shopping."

Rose shot Bella a nasty look, "So are we on Jade?"

"Of course I would love to, let's meet up here so I can leave my car somewhere I can actually find my way home from." Jaden said smiling wide

Rose nodded and Jaden heard Tyler calling him back over to the group. "Sorry I have to go here is my number, call me." Bella looked a little put out that he did not give her a copy of his number.

'I'm sorry but for now it's better this way.'

Making his way back over to the group Jaden had to laugh at Tyler's pout. "You're not leaving us for them are you?" Chuckling Jaden bumped hips with the boy and made his way to class.

His morning classes passed in the blink of an eye and before he knew it lunch had started. Jaden had stayed behind in class to hand back the notes he copied to the teacher. When he finally reached the doors of then cafeteria he felt a pull coming from the woods surrounding the school. Slowly he made his way out of the school and into the dense trees and finally stopped when he could no longer feel whatever it was that called him out here in the first place. Grunting out his irritation he turned to make his way back to the school, his lunch period was surely over by now.

Stomping through the trees let out a screech when a heavy weight plopped onto his shoulders. Tossing the attacker to the ground he nearly pissed himself when he heard his guide's voice echo through his mind.

["Is that any way to treat your mommy when she finally comes to help you?"]

["Mother?"]

["In the flesh kitten, I told you I would come to help you and in this form I can stay by your side."]

Jaden raised a brow at the big cat.["What the hell are you?"]

["Have you gone blind? I'm a cat."]

Jaden picked the cat up, letting her long legs dangle for a moment before setting her around his shoulders. When he was sure she wouldn't fall he began his hike back to the school.

["Cats are not this big."]

["I'm a savannah cat love; now take me home its cold out here."]

Jaden looked panicked. ["Oh hell I have to go back to school, you made me miss lunch."]

Jaden smiled when the cat bumped it head against his chin. ["Hmm...I'm going to have to name you, so from now on you shall be Ami"]

["Cute, now we are going home. You can go back to school tomorrow."]

["You want me to skip school?"]

["Oh get over it. Now tell me what you have found out about the Cullens."]

Jaden told her about his morning and before he knew it they were back at school and getting in his car. Looking over he saw Alice waving from one of the class windows. 'Almost like she knew I would skip today.'

He made it home after a quick stop at the pet store to get a collar and other supplies. Pulling up to the house he quietly crept into the house only to find Billy waiting for him. "Skipping school on your third day huh?"

Turning his best 'kicked puppy' face on Billy he turned with Ami curled in his arms. "I found this poor kitty out in the woods and she was so cute I had to bring her home. Can I keep her Billy?"

Billy narrowed his eyes at the cat. "Jacob hates cats squirt."

Letting his eyes tear up and his lip quiver he placed Ami on the man lap. Ami purred and butted her head against Billy's.

["He loves me."]

Jaden fought down his own smile at the silly grin that slowly bloomed on Billy's face.

"Fine she can stay but you're telling Jacob when he gets home." Turning, he wheeled into the living room Ami still in his lap.

Jaden chuckled and followed the duo into the living room. Sitting down on the couch he had just curled his legs under himself when Jacob pushed through the front door and flopped down onto the couch next to Jaden, resting his head in the smaller boys lap.

"Long day at school brat?"

Jacob just groaned and turned his face into Jaden's stomach. Smiling Jaden began to run his fingers through the thick course locks of hair. Jacob's breathing quickly evened out and the bigger boy was fast asleep. Billy smiled at the two as he wheeled past to the kitchen, Ami still curled up in his lap.

"I'm getting a beer, you want anything squirt?"

"No I'm alright."

Jacob must have felt the vibrations from Jaden's voice because he gave a loud snort and snuggled in close grumbling something about beef jerky.

["He's just too cute kitten."]

Ami slowly prowled into the living room coming around the front of the couch to get a good look at the sleeping boy. "Ami don't wake him up."

The cat ignored him and jumped up onto the couch and gave Jacob a firm head-butt to the boy's cheek. Jacob's eyes snapped open, blurry eyes blinked at the huge cat standing over him.

"What the hell is that?" Jacob's monotone voice made Jaden blink down at him.

"Umm well, she is my new cat."

Jacob's brow crinkled in confusion. The groggy boy rolled off the couch with a yip pointing an accusing finger at the smug looking feline.

"Cat's are not that big! What the fuck Jaden? Get rid of it! NOW!"

Jaden rolled his eyes and pulled the long legged cat up into his arms. "Leave Ami alone Jacob, she is a good kitty and wheels loves her."

Billy gave a grunt as he rolled back into the room. "Told ya he hated cats." With that he turned his attention back to the TV. Ami hopped down and glided over the Billy, she gave a quiet meow before making herself comfortable on the man's lap. Billy just smiled and went back to his show.

["Told you he loves me kitty."]

Jacob looked betrayed at Billy's easy acceptance of the cat. Huffing Jaden pulled the bigger boy back into his lap and flicked him on the forehead. "Shut up love and go back to sleep. Ami is here to stay and you need your rest."

Jacob sighed and Jacob made himself comfortable again. "What are you doing here so early anyway?"

"Don't worry your pretty little head about that, rest I will explain everything later."

Jacob was sound asleep in seconds and for the next few hours Jacob slept while Billy and Jaden watched TV. Around five Charlie came and picked Billy up to watch the game at his house, Jacob of course slept through the whole meeting. With Billy gone Ami came and curled up between Jacob and the back of the couch.

Jaden had turned the TV to a music channel and called one of his meditation ball to him. The small ball zipped into his hands and he started to focus his thoughts on the Cullen family.

["Careful not to fall into your mind kitten, I cannot pull you out without waking the kid."]

Jaden let his thoughts flow into the ball hoping to find a clue as to what the unusual family really was, the yellow aura seemed to be his biggest clue, it kept flashing to front of his thoughts.

["Focus on that kitten, the aura will guide you to the answer."]

The yellow started to clear and he could make out a person lying on the ground, a corpse. Jaden tried to focus on the body but right when he was to get a clear look Jacob sat straight up, knocking the ball from his hands.

"I'm sorry green eyes, did I break it?"

Jaden's trance was broken so abruptly it took him a few moments to fully come back to himself. He bent and picked up the still glowing ball out from under the coffee table. "No harm done, finally awake I see."

Jacob tiredly rubbed at his eyes. "I keep having this strange dream; it's really starting to freak me out."

"Do you want to talk about it love?" Jacob shook his head no and stood up to stretch, Jaden watched the thick muscles ripple and pulse trying not to get caught staring. "Are you hungry Jake?"

The bigger boy tilted his head to the side slightly and grinned. "Yeah! Let's go into town and grab a burger."

Jaden returned the warm smile. "Sure sounds great." Jacob glared down at Ami, who was still curled up on the couch. "How long has that thing been there?"

Jaden chuckled as he went to get his jacket and the keys to the rabbit. "She has been there the whole time. You two were so cute curled up together for nap time."

Jacob actually growled at Ami and stomped over to the door. "Babe, don't let her lay on me, it's weird."

Jaden laughed as he followed the other boy out the door "How is that weird? She is a cat, it's what they do."

The drive into Forks was short and before Jaden realized it they had pulled up to a little diner. Jacob had grumbled about wanting a dog the whole drive and Jaden made a note to find him one. Jaden wrapped his arms around Jacob's thick waist and pressed himself close to his strong back. "How about I get you a dog and we can all be one big happy family, alright love?"

The bigger boy full out laughed, grabbing Jaden's smaller hand in his and spun the boy around to face him. "Would you really get me a dog?"

"Of course love."

"Any dog I want? No matter how hard it is to find?"

Jaden leaned up to nip at the other's strong jaw making the muscle twitch. "You name it, it's yours."

Jacob laughed "Alright then, I want a Karelian Bear Dog. Get me that dog and I am yours."

Jaden smiled as Jacob finally pulled away and lead him into the diner. A short woman at the front greeted Jacob with a familiar air that proved Jacob ate there a lot. "Hey there Jake! How's the old man doing?"

Jake smiled and the two exchanged a few laughs before she took notice of Jaden. "Well hello there. You are just too adorable. What's your name honey?"

Jaden smiled already liking the kind woman. "Jaden Wolfe, it's a pleasure to meet you."

The older woman gave a dreamy smile and started to fan herself. "Love the accent hun, I'm Renita. Everyone around here calls me Nita. Let's get you two a table before poor Jacob staves to death."

The couple followed Nita to a booth toward the back to the diner and were handed menus. The boys ordered drinks and Nita was off with a quick "Back in a sec hun."

When Jaden finally found what he wanted he glanced over the menu to see Jacob staring him directly in the face. "Can I help you?"

Jacob blushed and looked down at his hands. "Sorry Babe, it's just that this is our official first date."

Jaden raised a brow. "Really now, who says it's a date?"

Jacob smirked and before he could answer Nita was back with their drinks and ready to take their orders. "Jake two chili burgers, a patty melt, and onion rings right?"

Jacob gave a quick nod and added "One Jalapeño burger too please." Nita nodded and smiled at a shocked Jaden. "Now Jaden what would you like?"

Jaden still looked a little shocked at Jacob's order "May I have the chicken tenders, with the ham, onion, and cheese potato."

Nita flashed him a smile "Sure thing hun, anything else I can get you?"

Both boys shook their heads and Nita was off to put in their orders. Jacob smiled and softly pulled the other boys hand over and began to nuzzle against it. "Now back to what I was saying, this is a date because we are alone, having dinner and because I said so."

Jaden rolled his eyes playfully. "Anything you say love."

Jacob smiled and pressed his lips to the boy's wrist. "So does this officially make us boyfriend and …well- boyfriend."

Jaden smiled and tightened his grip on the bigger boy's hand. "I'd like that love."

The smile Jacob gave him was practically blinding

Dinner went on without a hitch. The young couple took their time getting to know each other; Jacob wanted to know everything about Jaden's life back in England while Jaden wanted to know about Jacob's life on the Reservation. Before he knew it they had finished dinner and were on their way back home. They talked all the way home and until they finally went to bed for the night. The two found that they both had a key group of friends but were both well know throughout their schools. Jaden told Jacob everything he could about his life in England leaving out the fact that he and his friends were wizards and went to a wizarding school. He couldn't help but feel a little guilty because Jacob was being so open with him but he was hiding a major part of his life from the other boy.

["Don't feel bad kitten, Jacob has his own secrets too."]

["Let me guess you're not going to tell me that either."]

["You got it!"]

Jaden couldn't be upset with Jacob because he wasn't being completely honest with him, but Jaden realized that this was how most relationships were. At the start of the relationship the two people don't just blurt out their how life story, dark secrets and all, the relationship grows over time and secrets come to light when the two gain each other's trust.

The rest of the week passed without a hitch and it was finally Saturday. Jaden, Alice, and Rosalie were suppose to meet up at the school in about thirty minutes and there was only one thing holding Jaden up, Jacob.

"Come on babe, you can go shopping some other time come with us to the beach."

Jaden sighed and shook his head. "No, I want to go beside I might just get you a gift while I'm out."

Jacob finally gave up with a sigh and handed the other boy his keys. "Fine but at least tell me who you're going with."

Jaden gave a timid smile. "Alice and Rosalie Cullen."

Jacob hurled around with the burning eyes and hissed out through clenched teeth. "Repeat that. I know you did not say Cullen."

Jaden huffed and pulled himself up to full height. "Yes I did. I know you don't like their brother but you can't hold that against them. They have done nothing wrong."

Jacob pressed himself close to Jaden, pinning the boy to the door. "You're not going."

Jaden glared and pushed the other boy away, Jacob barely moved. "You can't seriously think I'm not going just because you say I can't."

Jacob began to tremble and took a step back. "I told you to stay away from them! ALL OF THE THEM!"

Jaden snarled in response "Don't yell at me, why you are acting like this? Getting all pissed off when you don't get your way, get over yourself I'm going."

Jaden turned to walk out of the door, when he began to pull the door open Jacob lunged forward and pushed it closed with one hand on the door. He sighed and laid his head on the other boys shoulder. "Please green eyes, Jaden, you don't understand don't go. They aren't what you think they are they're not good stay here were its safe."

Jaden turned and pressed a kiss to the other boys head. "You talk like they are going to kill me and leave me on the side of the road. I have my phone you can call me any time to check up on me but I am going Jacob. I'll see you later."

With that Jaden was out the door before the other boy could stop him and legged it all the way to his car. Jacob tried to catch him but he was already in the car and pulling out the drive way by the time he reached the driveway. Jaden could see Jacob roughly pull at his short hair and slam back into the house. Let out a relieved breath but he nearly crashed when Ami's loud screeches echoed through his mind.

["WHAT THE HELL? Damn it Jaden you should have just stayed home! Jacob is destroying the place. What's so important about going shopping anyway?"]

Pulling up to the school Jaden smiled at Alice's excited waving. ["I need to pick up Jacob's present and it gives me a chance to get to know them so maybe I can figure out what they really are."]

Ami's hissing giggles echoed loud and clear. ["Sneaky kitten."]
