harrydraco4life: darlin' i cannot thank ye enough. i was stuck on one particular day. i've been trying to write these days ahead so i'm not stuck the night before, trying to figure out how to write the next day and when i went to write the latest one (day eleven i believe), you inspired me. i thought the one i had was dull and so i went and checked the reviews and there was yours. thank you!!
thrnbrooke: ah, well, hermione said that only to get ginny off hermione's case. you'll see in this chapter ;)
uchiha mikomi: as much fun as not having classes, i do have to give credit to the teachers of hogwarts; they won't let these pranks slow them down :)
usmc gal: well, hermione has to have some one from gryffindor willing to fight ginny back and with neville doing the herbology thing and dean and seamus connected at the lip, hermione was the only one left. yeah, i love shy draco. i usually write top!draco stories but this version is cute. if you like him this way, just wait to see what else i'm thinking of writing once this one is done. also, check out my story, lolita...draco is a shy darlin' bottom in there, too.
paigeey07: thank you!!
hieisdragoness18: thanks. and thank you. and yeah i know but i've rarely ever gotten real birthday wishes (i was the one in school no one liked...not to mention my uncle and aunt didn't call me yesterday O.o) i am finally 21...but no, i didn't get drink...i'm not an alcohol person. i had something that wasn't too much but tasted really good...
aya-chan: really? hmm...i've been posting updates every day, usually in the afternoon so i don't know how much sooner i'm supposed to update o.O

24 October, Day Six
Ginny smiled at Madame Pince who scowled as she handed back the book Ginny had selected to check out. After her failure with the cheering potion and then seeing Harry hanging out with Draco as well as Hermione (who was now single and therefore a challenge), Ginny knew that she had to step up her efforts.
She had thought simple was better but clearly, that wasn't the case. She should've known. Harry was a powerful wizard and man and needed something more interesting to get his attention. And keep it.
She hummed to herself as she all but skipped to her dorm. This should do the trick.

Severus Snape considered himself above the childish pranking going on at the school. He had suffered enough times at the hands of the Marauders and was not something he wished on anyone else. Therefore, when the headmaster had decided to let the war run on, he swore that he was not going to be a part of it.
In fact, he was not going to let it disrupt him in any way.
However, when he found his morning breakfast tampered with a potion designed to give him diaherra, it was enough.
Not only had the sixth years' potions (which had required several days and the students checking on said potions) been disruppted due to the pranks, but now he was suffering at the hands of it. He was lucky he was still the habit of checking his foods before eating them. He had not survived the war like the Potter boy, on sheer luck alone.
He wrote a quick missive to the Wealsey twin brats, threatening them with lasting bodily harm if they wrote that one into the book of records he was sure they were keeping. Then, he went over to his bookshelf to find that one particular spell.
This was sure to be remembered for a long time. He smiled to himself.

So far, Harry found the day to be boring. It seemed that as the days went by and the pranks got wilder, the students were being more cautious and creative. The fifth years and under, it seemed, had given in all together. They knew that they had no chance against the older students and the older students knew that to win this contest they had to be creative.
But, the lack of trying by the younger students meant that for once since Sunday, it was quiet in the Hall. Harry knew he shouldn't be upset by that but he was.
"I hate to say this but, I'm missing all those pranks," Hermione said, looking like she was in pain by uttering that very sentence.
"I agree," Draco said. He had just sat down next to Harry when he arrived for the meal and made himself right at home. Harry tried not to feel too good about that.
"I wonder if anyone is going to be daring enough to keep up the pranks after Halloween," Harry thought aloud. "It was great when the twins were here. Made everything cheerful."
"Not to mention helping certain family members put certain things in perspective," Hermione muttered. She glared at Ron who had just stumbled into the room. It seemed that now that Harry wasn't being nice and waking his best friend up, Ron was more often late. Amazing, that.
"What happened?" Draco asked, looking between Harry and Hermione. "Not if you don't mind telling me."
"Ron's being a bigoted arsehole," Hermione swore. "In addition to being angry with Harry for hanging out with the scum of all evil, sorry, he thinks there's something wrong with me. Ginny told him I was going to the ball with Harry and Ron came to me last night, telling me that I should go with him instead of Harry, the backstabber."
"He makes it sound like I betrayed him," Harry sighed.
"Don't worry about it," Draco said. "Either he'll come around because of his mum or he won't which proves he wasn't too concerned with you friendship in the first place."
Harry sighed to himself. It was exactly that which had him concerned. He didn't want to loose Ron totally over making friends with Draco but he wouldn't stand by and let his best mate dictate who was good and who wasn't.
At that moment, Dumbledore called for silence. "Mr. Fred Weasley and Mr. George Weasley have contacted me his morning concerning thier final prank. They not only wanted to ensure that this would not bother the school board but also to propose a Halloween Ball in order to allow their prank its full potentional. Therefore, a week from now, on All Hallow's Eve, we will be holding a ball in the Great Hall. The fifth years and younger will have to leave by 10 but for the sixth and seventh years, it will end at 1. Thank you."
There was a loud upsurge in conversation following this announcement and Harry felt dread settle in his stomach like a lead weight. He was afraid of what Ginny might try something again and given how powerful and cunning Ginny could be, he didn't want to know what she could attempt.
"So, Harry," Hermione said, "Do I need to find myself a date for the ball or not?"
Harry was going to say yes immediately. This way he and Hermione were sure to have dates but he was suddenly kicked in the shin. He looked over at Draco, positive it was the boy who had kicked him and he remembered suddenly what Seamus had said yesterday. Blushing, he looked at Hermione again.
She smiled another one of her secret smiles. "It's okay, Harry. I understand." She winked. "I'm sure Neville won't have a date."
Harry nodded and continued eating. Now, he just needed to work up the courage to ask Draco to be his date. He wondered if that was accepted in the wizarding world but in the end, he knew it wouldn't matter. He wanted to take Draco to the dance and he would. No one else would do.

It was during Herbology that the prank of the day started to show. They were having a lecture instead of a practical which was neccessary once in a while. Today was on the last of the really dangerous plants of the wizard world that would be on their N.E.W.T.S. Hence, why the lesson was a lecture.
She started off with a verbal pop quiz on some of the plants they had covered in the last practical; she made sure to have a different question for each student. Ron had arrived late to the class so he was in the front, since it had been the only empty seat and therefore, he was the first victim of the prank.
It was clear that he didn't know the answer but decided to try a different one rather than look like an arse. However, no sooner had he given his answer than a rather odd sound--one of a fart--came from Ron's direction and a rather putrid smell--of rotten eggs almost--drifted around the room. Ron blushed hotly and quietly asked to go to the bathroom.
Professor Sprout looked taken back but kindly and excused the red head. When he was gone, she cast a spell to clear the air in the classroom and then continued with her pop-quiz. When she got to Susan Bones, who was not long after Ron, she, too, stumbled over her answer. Just like with Ron, there was a fart-like sound and an unpleasant smell.
Hermione turned to Harry who shrugged. He didn't know any better than her what was going on. It was clear that this was a prank but he didn't know who would have done this. It was almost vengeful in nature. Harry knew that Snape would be upset with the prank war but he didn't think that Snape would do something like this.
Or would he?

"Severus, my dear boy," Dumbledore said when he saw the surly potions professor step into his office.
"Headmaster," Severus greeted. He was unsure of why he had been asked here and was rather concerned about the prank. He knew the older wizard had said that no students would be punished for the pranks but nothing about the teachers.
Dumbledore smiled and poured them both some tea. "I just wanted to congradulate you on a very good prank. I had never thought of something so clever."
Severus sighed inside and outwardly he gave a small smile. "Well, when I find my food laced with a potion to give me diaherra, I knew I needed to do something."
Dumbledore chuckled. "Indeed. I'm sure Messiurs Weasley will be proud of this one. Certainly something they will try to replicate."
Severus chuckled himself. "I had indeed recieved a letter from them, asking if I could give them that spell."
"Ah, I can only imagine what they will create now."
From the look in Dumbledore's eyes, Severus suspected, again, that the twins were recieving extra help from a certain doddering old man.
