An Unexpected Find
James was walking around the area, calling Lily's name into the wind. The rain was coming down hard and fast, it was had gotten to the point where it was stinging his face.
“LILY!” James screamed as he walked around. There was broken glass everywhere, and he stumbled over something, causing him to fall. As he scrambled to get up, his wand pointing to what he tripped over he saw a hand. For a second he panicked, and ran his wand up to the face.
“Sirius!” James yelled to his mate who was not far away. “I found Gideon...”
Gideon’s body was sprawled on the ground, covered in mud, and there was blood in his shirt. The rest of the blood had been washed away from the rain. He had been cut up badly, and had James not know Gideon from the red hair, he would of never guessed it was him because you could barely make out his face.
Skye had run over, well as best as she could. She had twisted her ankle during the battle. Her hand flew up to her mouth as she saw Gideon’s body.
“Skye I need to you take his body to St. Mungos,” Sirius said looking at her.
“No I can’t,” Skye said horrified. “I can’t do that Sirius. I mean..he is dead.”
“I need you too. You can’t go along with us, it risks you getting hurt further. Take him to St. Mungo’s and get your ankle fixed. I will be home soon,” Sirius said earnestly.. Truth was he did not know when, or if he would be home, but right now he had to convince her to leave.
Skye groaned, she did not want to do this. She had nothing against Gideon, but dead bodies bothered her, plus it was a good friend of hers.
“Please be careful,” she said taking Gideon’s limp, cold hand.
Sirius kissed her goodbye, and Skye apparated to St. Mungos.
“I’ve got something,” Remus called out to his friends, though it was barely audible.
After Sirius had helped James up off the ground the ran over to him. “I think I have a trace,” Remus said his wand spinning every which way on his palm, going at a breakneck speed before stopping.
“This way,” Remus said smirking a bit into the rain.
Quickly, the three marauders took off into the rain. Peter was no where to be seen, he had basically stopped going to Order meetings, and rarely contacted them.
