It Cannot Be...

“Hermione are you okay? That was amazing, how did you do that, we knew you were powerful but I didn’t knew you were THAT powerful, I’m still shacking” Ginny said while taking a seat next to Harry on the train compartment.



“I… I don’t know I just felt so angry all of a sudden, I couldn’t think, I… don’t know” Hermione said burying her face on her hands.



Ron was pale he was silent since they got out of the station and entered the empty compartment. Harry noted his friend’s silence and asked him if he was okay.



“Yeah mate, I’m just freaked out” Ron paused and looked at Hermione “You were about to kill Lucius Malfoy in front of everyone, I know it’s not your fault but you need to have a little more control, Hermione you may hurt someone”



“I know that Ronald, why do you think I’m so scared? I know I was about to kill that excuse for a wizard. But what you expected I lose control, he was going to kill Harry for God’s sake…” She realized she was standing and yelling when she saw the little group of students looking through the door “I need to go, I have a meeting with Prof. McGonagall” Saying this she stormed out of the compartment.

Draco was seated alone in a compartment thinking about what had happened with Hermione and his father at the station ‘She was about to kill him, what was she thinking?’ He stand up and started passing inside the compartment .



“I need to talk to her…” He said out loud.



“With who?” Came a voice from the door. Draco turned around and found Hermione standing by the door frame smiling at him.

Draco didn’t waste anytime he hurriedly went to her and grabbed her, pulling her inside the compartment he closed the door with a locking charm and then proceed to kiss her with all the force he could find. She responded the kiss with equal force. Merlin knows how much she needed him. Her encounter with Lucius had been something a bit overwhelming for her. Draco pulled away and set his eyes one hers looking for something. Since he didn’t find anything unusual he just asked her.



“Are you ok?” He asked softly touching her left cheek. She was surprised. She thought that the moment she stepped in the compartment he will start asking what had happened to her at the platform, but he didn’t. She grabbed his hand kissing the tips of his fingers.



“I’m okay baby, still a little surprised but I’m fine” He hugged her. He wanted to ask her what happened but he decided it wasn’t the right time. He knew her to well, he knew she’ll be asking herself the same question. He will just let her be, until she found out for herself, she’ll tell him in the end. She always did.



“I better go, I have to see Prof. McGonagall in ten minutes, I’ll see you later” She kissed him lightly on the lips and turned around to unlock the door. At the door frame she gave him a last glance and the same thing he did at the Burrow, she did it.



“I love you” She said and closed the door behind her.

“Miss Granger, on time as always, please take a seat” McGonagall waved her wand and a tray with tea cups and biscuits appeared. Hermione took a seat.



“Professor? Are we meeting with the new Head Boy too?” Hermione asked.



“No miss Granger, you’ll know who the new Head Boy is after the Sorting Ceremony. But now I will like to discuss with you, what we will expecting from you as the new Head Girl”



They continue talking like an hour. After Hermione left, the train began to slow down. After ten minutes it stopped completely and the students began to disembark with their stuff. Hermione heard Hagrid calling the first year students with his loud voice. Harry, Ron and Ginny joined her at the station. They all went to find a carriage.



After looking for 5 minutes the finally spotted one in the farthest corner of the Hogsmeade station. Hermione pulled the door open, and found that it wasn’t empty.



“Oh! Excuse me do you mind if we all share the carriage, all the others left already” She said smiling a little, making sure neither of her friends could see her smiling at the person in the carriage. Hermione stepped inside sitting next to the one in the carriage. Harry, Ron and Ginny climbed inside too, each one taking a sit. The carriage began to move and the moon light entered through one of the windows. There seated next to Hermione looking through the window was Draco Malfoy. Ron grunted and Harry hold his breath trying to remain calmed.



Hermione saw the change in their mood and became annoyed by it. She wanted them to be friends, Draco was the one she loved. So she started a light conversation to released the tension.



“So Draco, can I call you Draco? How was your summer?”



Draco knew what she was trying to do so he decided to play along. Just a little.



“Yes sweetheart, you can call me Draco. My summer was quite okay, but a little bit boring. Something was missing” Draco answered. Harry and Ron exchange glances ‘Why was Malfoy being so polite? Sweetheart? He called Hermione sweetheart’ Harry thought looking back to Draco and Hermione.



Hermione’s mood increased. Draco’s playing along, this is a good start. She thought, missing the spark on Draco’s eyes. She asked another question.



“What was missing?” Draco knew she was going to ask it, and he was ready for his next move. He knew she was trying to make a conversation with all of them, so that way, the tension between all of them will eased, and in a future it will be more easier to break the news that they were together.



“What was missing in my summer you asked? Well, nothing so important” He answered, knowing she was getting curious. Harry, Ron and Ginny were quiet listening to the conversation.



“Ok… But what was missing?” She asked again feeling the little thorn of curiosity.



“Well something like this…” His words were lost. His lips crashed on Hermione’s. Everyone was silent, no one could believe what they were seeing. Hermione let out a moan and Ron’s face went crimson red ‘She’s enjoying the kiss’ he thought. He pulled out his wand but it was too late Draco was already gone. They were so shocked that they didn’t notice when the carriage stopped and Draco pulled away from Hermione’s lips.



Hermione was perplex she couldn’t believe what Draco did. He kissed her in front of Harry, Ron and Ginny. And the worst part was that she didn’t stopped him, she even moaned. She raised her eyes and saw Ron’s face, she knew this wasn’t good. He looked like he was about to explode.



“YOU FUCKING WHORE!!” Was the only thing escaped Ron’s lips, he stood up and smacked Hermione. She rolled to the carriage floor. Ron was about to kick her when Harry stood up too. He stood in front of Hermione to protect her. Ginny moved and grabbed Ron by the arm pulling him outside the carriage. Ron wasn’t himself he tried to grab Hermione by the ankle when Ginny was pulling him out. Screaming all sort of things to Hermione, he brake free from Ginny’s grasp and went inside the castle. Students where gathering around trying to see what had happened.



Harry kneeled in front of Hermione helping her to stand up. She was sobbing her lip and her nose were bleeding, and she got a black eye. Harry cleaned the blood off of her. Ginny came inside the carriage and saw Hermione’s face.



“Hermione I’m so sorry. Ron shouldn’t have reacted like that, he’s an asshole. Oh my God! Look at your face sweety” Ginny carefully touched Hermione’s face, trying not to hurt her more.



“I can’t fix it, but I can put a few glamours , so no one will notice until you get to see Madame Pomfrey” Ginny said waving her wand. Hermione’s face went back to normal to the public eye. Ginny frowned. Hermione saw her face and asked her.



“What is it, you couldn’t do It?”



“Well…Yes I did… But… it’s funny because back in the Burrow, I couldn’t change your hair color, but now I can put a glamour on your face” Ginny said climbing out of the carriage, Harry followed and Hermione was the last one.



“Maybe ‘cause we are at Hogwarts” Harry said looking around them, to all the students.

“Do you guys need anything?” He asked. All the students turned around and began to walk inside the castle. With the three of them following.

“Welcome students, to another year at Hogwarts… Don’t you all think that speech it’s a little bit annoying?” Dumbledore asked looking at the students through his half-moon spectacles. The all gave him nervous smiles. Dumbledore smiled.



“Let’s just eat, shall we?” Saying this all the plates filled with all kinds of delicious food. They all ate, in peace. Hermione looked down the table and saw Ron glaring at her, forming the word ‘Whore’ on his lips. She looked away from him and saw Draco at the Slytherin table looking at her. She gave him a nervous smile and went back to her plate.



When all the students had finished with their food, Dumbledore stood up, calling for everyone’s attention.



“Now that we’re all full with this delicious food, I’d like to make a few announcements. For the first year, and for all of you the Forbidden Forest, is that, forbidden. The Quidditch season will start in October. And last but not less important I will like to present to you the new Head Girl and Head Boy”



Hermione knew her name will be called, she had received the badge. But was curious to know who the Head Boy will be. She knew it wasn’t Draco. And maybe she was certain it could be Blaise Zabini.



“For the Head Girl position, Miss Hermione Granger” All the students cheered her except for the Slytherins. She looked to the Slytherin table and saw Draco smiling at her, but no one notice. She smiled back. She looked again and saw Blaise Zabini seated with his arms folded, looking at her with malice.



“And for the Head Boy position, Mister…” Blaise smirked at her and she glared at him, waiting for Dumbledore’s words. Draco sight looking down, knowing Blaise’s names was about to be called.



“Draco Malfoy” Dumbledore said and Blaise’s face went pale.
