Unexpected News

A/N: I'm sorry there hasn't been any action yet, but I promise it is coming up soon.To those of you who have reviewed, thank you so much!

Molly Weasley was in shock. She knew her daughter had been in love with the Malfoy boy, but had no idea that Ginny was willing to risk her marriage to Harry for just a chance to see him. She tried to rationalize, by saying that it was to see Ali, which it was in part, but Molly knew better. The instant Ginny had told her about the gala that night, she had known. There was a glint in her daughter's eyes that was unmistakable. It was almost as if she was a sixth year again, when she and Draco had only just started their secret relationship, her face was glowing and eyes were shining with happiness. Despite the fact that Molly knew what the outcome could be, she was happy for Ginny. She hadn't seen her daughter so happy in a long time, and even on her wedding day, her eyes didn't show the happiness they did at the moment.

She smiled at her daughter biting her tongue on all the warnings she wished to issue about how the boy broke her heart once and he could do it again, and how she was jeopardizing her marrigae with Harry. She said not a thing, despite her gut instinct telling her to. As much as she was a mother, she was aware that Ginevra had to make her own decisions and was grown up enough to do so. Ginny knew what she was putting on the line, what she could throw away, but also, what she could gain. Molly's main concern was her daughter's happiness and her grandbaby. If Ginny and Harry did split up, what would happen to Lily? She tried to not worry about it and figured it would be dealt with, if an when the time came.

Ginny wasn't sure what to expect from her mother. She knew the woman was understanding, she always had been, but she expected some kind of warning, or something. Nothing came. Molly sat across the table from her daughter and sipped a cup of tea, pursing her lips every now and then, but making no comment. Ginny was worried. Her mother rarely passed up the oppertunity to tell any of her children to be careful, especially her only daughter. Ginny had only told her mother of Ali and the gala, she hadn't told the woman about the note that Draco sent saying he still loved her. She wasn't sure how her mother would take it, or even how she was taking it for that matter. It could easily make the last five years of her life seem as if they never happened. Did she really want that?

The answer was yes. She loved Harry, but it wasn't the same. When she and Draco had been together after Harry had left, it had been beyond magical. At first it had been odd, but in time it went from just really great sex to something more. She felt a connection with Draco, that she had never once felt for Harry, not even after they were married. She hadn't expected to see him ever again though. She was sure he had been killed along with anybody else who had tried to disappear after the dark lords fall from power. She had given up hope on never seeing him again, so she had moved on. She had loved Harry, not the same, But she did love him. Now, out of the blue, her life had changed. The man she'd been crazy in love with, had just come back into the picture.

Ginny had never been one to ignore her gut, or her heart and her heart told her to go. She wasn't sure what would come of it, but she knew what she wanted and that was Draco. It had always been that way, even after she had given up hope on him ever coming back, she still loved him and wanted him. She just thought it would never come to be. After sitting in silence for quite some time, eaco of the Weasley women keeping to their thoughts, Ginny finished her cup of tea and pushed it away from her. She wanted to do some shopping before tonight's event and as much as she loved her mother and respected the woman, she couldn't just sit there all day. Pushing her chair back and standing, Ginny picked her purse up off the table and put it on her shoulder. As she was turnign to walk over and say goodbye to Lily, her mother looked at her with a half smile.

"Do be careful dear. I love you and I want you to be happy, but please be careful."

"I will mum, I love you too. Thank you."

With that Ginny embraced her mother tightly and kissed the aging woman on the cheek, glad that she hadn't left to disapproving silence. Grabbing Lily and huging her tight, she kissed the little girl on the nose and said that she would be back tomorrow to get her. The little girl looked up at her with eyes the same shade of green as her husband's and Ginny felt some of the happiness go out of her. She tried to ignore it as her little angel hugged her leg quickly before Grandma Molly distracted her with cookies, and ginny was gone with a loud crack.
