Lost and Found

IS THIS THE BOY-WHO-LIVED TO TERRORISE?

The pictures were splayed across the wizarding newspapers all over the front and insides. Pictures of the youth who had stolen, begged, been beaten and used people were in full view for a horrified public with his little blonde and purple haired accomplice. Both of them no older than 10 years of age.

Majority agreed that day, that the boy-who-lived should never be introduced to the wizarding world.

IS THIS THE BOY-WHO-LIVED TO TERRORISE?

“I want him found and I want him found now!”

Three different people, three different reasons, three of the same order, but who would get to him first?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He sat watching her with anxious eyes, although this had happened many times in the past he couldn’t help but let his mind slip back to the ‘what happens if it’s all over?’ mode.

He rubbed his tired glassy eyes; it had been a whole day, not as long as some of the times before this particular time, but it still unnerved him when she never responded to him. He fiddled with the blue gem in his hand, it meant nothing to him, but it meant a lot to his buyers and he would be damned to give this to them if she didn’t wake up even if they have already transferred half the money to their account.

He gripped it tightly as he closed his eyes, leaning his head on her bed. Well it was more like a camping bed, but it was comfortable enough, he hoped she was warm enough; he had given her his blankets, propped her head up with his pillow and had even put his new socks on her hands to try and warm her.

‘I need to get her to a safer place, away from all of this,’ he thought wearily as he rubbed a hand over his face, feeling older than his years, a feeling they both shared most of the time.

“No way,” Amy…

“Oh gods Amy!” Harry cried and clung to her, dropping the blue gem to the side of the bed uncaringly. “You could have died,” he whispered harshly to her as he snuggled in the tiny bed next her, it creaked.

“Harry…don’t be such a idiot” she batted him sluggishly around the head as he swatted her gently back. “You know as well as I do that it won’t happen,” her ill pallor had darkened to a healthy milky white within seconds of her waking, a small rose tinting her otherwise pale cheeks, she didn’t look dead anymore at least and she was slowly gaining the rest of her colour.

“You scared me, it always scares me, I don’t know what I would do without you,” he confessed quietly, no matter what happened they were still only the two abused children who ran away from their abusers, they were still the pair that craved love and affection, recognition for good deeds and a firm hand to tell them no when they had done wrong. They were still only children.

He held her in the cool office of the abandoned factory they resided in; the bed creaked again in the cool spring air of April that was seeping through the broken glass windows.

“M’sorry Harry,” they both held each other tightly, basking in each other’s company, small smiles on their faces, this was what it was like to be wanted and loved by another, did they really need anything else? Did they really?

The bed creaked again…before collapsing.

The two rolled apart from the forced of hitting the floor and laughed as loudly as they dared, the factory was still checked on by the Bobbies for homeless invaders and tramps regularly, which in reality they both very much were exactly that.

They both looked at each other from across the room, Amy struggling to get out of the blanket she was trapped in and Harry just watching her.

“Can we go swimming tomorrow?” the little blonde asked breathless after her struggle with the bed covers that Harry had covered her in, she’d quickly given up.

“Sure,” it was one of the only things they could do without being questioned about their age or where their parents were, plus it meant free showers after a day of being in the warmth, it was where they tried to spend most of the winter days without arising suspicion, which wasn’t always easy to do considering they were meant to be at school.

Harry sat up and began collecting the blue and purple gems that were dotted around the room and piled them onto the hard wooden, ancient desk and flipped on the dim desk light, they were both surprised when they had found out the place still had electricity running through it.

“How many were there, don’t tell me that there weren’t enough,” she remembered the argument and sub-sequential fight that had lasted for hours between them, she had never been more glad that Harry’s special powers had given him the ability to absorb information, those fighting techniques from the little library they had picked up were life savers.

“I counted earlier; we actually got extra this time round, brilliant init?” Harry grinned at her before she sat next to him in the office seat and helped him to split the gems into piles of power and tying them up again in little bags that there business acquaintance had given them.

The darker blue ones seems to concentrate on control of animals more than anything, something that dragon tamers would use when dealing with their fiery friends, Amy fingered one before asking if they had any to spare of these ones, Harry picked up three and put them to one side with a grin which she replied in like.

The darkest purple and lightest purple ones seemed to be power enhancers, let it not be said that Harry and Amy didn’t know what magic was in fact they had a fair enough understanding, just not your average schooling knowledge (but that would come later), the purple gems or rather power stone were to enable squibs and low magic holders to use wild magic. In other words, they were worth a pretty penny and they had a dozen over what was asked for.

They were also dangerous as well, the stones could also give a magical boost to those already capable of being able to strongly control their own magic, they could be used by everyone, but there were more dire effects for those with strong magic in their veins already.

The lightest blues ones and the others were healing gems, used by healers for curing dark magic rituals, they had a few left over of them too.

After hiding the ones they could keep, the two filled the three bags with the gems and quickly made their way down the old rickety and unstable steps, they were safe enough, but they didn’t want to take a chance by taking their sweet time.

They both looked around to make sure no one saw them coming out of their current home, they would have to move soon; they never stayed in one place for too long, for fear of being found out. Sticking to the shadows the pair silently and carefully made their way to the park, Harry followed Amy since she had the better eyesight and hearing; it was 2 am after all and very usual for two 12 year olds to be about so to avoid everyone would likely be the better idea.

Scaling the park fence like they had done many a time, they landed in the undergrowth and stood by the tree under its leafy roof, watching and waiting for their ‘customers’ to arrive.
