The first stage of Severus’s plan was ready to be implemented, and he sat on his bed, fully dressed, as he thought through the plans once more. There was only one flaw in his plans, and that was the reason he envied girls: he could have to find a way to hide his excitement.

First, he thought, I’ll make him crazy with the smell of my arousal. I will think of him and what we did, and see what happens. Next, I’ll give subtle hints, very subtle, but obvious to Remus, about what I’d like him to do to me, and what I’d like to do to him. Severus grinned to himself and hummed.

“You seem happy, Sev,” a silky voice said behind him.

“Hmm, yes I am, Luc.”

“Oh?” An elegant brow raised. Severus said nothing. Smirked, but said nothing. Lucius chuckled and knelt on the bed behind Severus, hands resting on his shoulders. Severus tried to pull away, but Lucius held him firm, flingers splaying and rubbing his neck.

“Don’t go,” he whispered, lowering his lips to caress the side of the other boy’s neck. Severus jerked away sharply, causing Lucius to lose hold and fall forward. The graceful blonde caught himself on his elbow and fell with a feline grace that said he meant to fall. Or meant to land as he did.

Steel grey eyes looked at Severus though a tangle of tussled blonde hair. If Severus had been interested, he would have found this display almost erotic; the way his hair fell in a seductive manner, the way he rolled his eyes up, finger near his mouth.

Severus, however, was not interested in Lucius, and told his friend so.

“You’ve slept with me before,” he whispered; voice like soft satin as he rose and sat on the bed, a speculative look on his face. “And you enjoyed it, if my memory serves me. Which is did.” Reflected back at Severus in those flashing eyes was the night they spent together. The passion they shared.

Severus shook his head. “I know. But...” he trailed off sighing. There was a dull sound, resonating from outside the room. Somewhere below, in the common room, there was an enthusiastic game of exploding snap. Voices joined the cacophony, each jeering the players they wanted to loose, complaining when someone cheated. They were Slytherins, was Severus’s disgusted thought. They should know that Slytherins would bend the rules to suit their needs. Just as Lucius was doing now, sliding towards Severus, a fierce look on his face.

Just had Severus would do. Soon.

“Is there someone else?” Lucius asked, his eyes calculating. He disliked being denied what he wanted. He was a Malfoy. Malfoy’s always got what they desired, and right now, Lucius desired Severus beneath him, gasping and thrashing and writhing and making all those lovely sounds he coaxed out of the other boy. Merlin, the thought of those sounds made him hard. He wanted Severus now. And if there was someone else, he would have to find a way to deal with them. Severus belonged to him.

After all, he was a Slytherin.

Remus had been acting odd lately. Sirius was worried about him. He eyed his friend as he nibbled the end of his quill, a habit that, more often than not, made Remus wince. He sat back thoughtfully into one of the overstuffed chairs in the common room, forgotten charms essay on his lap. Deep in thought, he missed James sitting next to him, until said person waved a chocolate frog on his face.

“What’s up, Siri?”

“Hmm?” Sirius blinked once, twice and then focused on James. “Oh nothing. It’s just—just Remus. Does he seem different to you? More... I dunno... strange?” James chuckled.

“Well he can’t get any stranger, can he? I mean... with the thing,” James said, significantly. Sirius shook his head and ran his hand through his shaggy hair.

“No, I don’t mean that. I mean... it’s nearly the full moon and he’s not the least bit... wound up.” James considered this for a moment, before joining his friend in the silent reverie.

Remus laughed at something Rebecca Fredericks was saying, and leaned forward, as if really interested in the conversation. He point animatedly to the parchment they were obviously discussing, and good naturedly let the discussion turn to a debate.

“Hmm... he has been a little chipper recently. And he’s letting Fredericks argue with him, not snapping at her.”

Sirius nodded. “Yeah. It started just after Christmas, do you remember?” The other boy made an agreeing sound and turned back to face Remus.

“I asked him about it, James.” James turned, and raised a brow, mouth forming a silent ‘oh’. Sirius nodded. “He said he is allowed a life that doesn’t include us three, and that I should mind my own business.”

“D’ya think he has a girl, then?” James asked, trying not to snigger. Remus was not exactly the suarvest of people he knew. Sirius snorted.

“Hardly!” Or at least, Sirius hoped not. That thought had been playing on Sirius's mind though, often. Sirius wouldn’t be able to bear it if there was someone else that Remus liked. He’d carried a torch for the boy since he realised these feelings he had were love, or something akin to love. Lust, need. He’d thought about how easily, how easily he could surprise the gentle boy in the showers. Pin him against the shower wall and have him writhing and begging Sirius for more, and then turning him to face the wall as he made love to the werewolf. How sweet the sounds of Remus’s pleasure would be. How tight he would feel.

Sirius sighed. Now he had a problem. He thanked Merlin that his homework was thick enough to not show anything, and turned to James, prodding for details on the boy’s latest conquests.

Ahhh Sundays! Remus padded along the corridors of Hogwarts, humming a tune dully under his breath. Sundays were his favourite day. A nothing-day, if he thought about it. The day after the Saturday rush to get the homework finished and completed. The day before the Monday rush of school and classes began for another week. The day when breakfast was served late in the morning.

And the first day he had kissed Severus.

Yes, Sunday was the greatest day in invention. At least Remus thought so.

Stopping at an archway that lead outside, Remus popped his head round the corner, carefully looking in case some kids were playing snowball fights. The last thing he wanted was to get wet. When he deemed it clear and safe, he stepped passed the archway—

Splat

Remus looked around, eyes narrowing when he saw Severus. A little impish smile and the boy ran off, chasing the Slytherins who had been attacked by Ravenclaws in an impromptu battle. Remus wanted to chase after Severus—how dare he run from him?! He would push him up against a wall, tell him how naughty he had been, throwing that snowball at him. He would then proceed to kiss him thoroughly, nipping down his neck before pressing him face-first against the wall and spanking him.

Remus blushed and coughed. Damn Severus. He got Remus all hot, and he didn’t even have to be with him in order to do so. Shaking his head, he moved away, crossing the yard and heading back into the school.

Remus found Severus popping up unexpectedly throughout the day. At one point, as they stood in a queue, Severus, faking unawareness of his being there... Severus had actually smelled aroused. And Remus couldn’t do anything about it!

The scent had settled around them like a cloak and teased him to a frenzy.

There was only so much one poor werewolf could take, and he did not want to be roaming the halls with a perpetual hard-on. Sneaking into a not-so-frequently used corridor, Remus leaned against the wall, trying to calm himself. His raging erection had not gone down any and he was studiously trying to think of anyone, anything other than a certain black haired, obsidian eyed boy (honest).

Sirius’s had followed Remus quietly, and when the werewolf stopped and closed his eyes, Sirius had advanced cautiously. He stopped dead when he saw Remus’s tented trousers. Oh Merlin! But it appeared to be what Sirius had dreamed... and the setting... oh they were alone and there was an alcove up ahead that he could cast a silencing spell around and oh Merlin! Remus was hard.

He pushed up against Remus and lowered his head, kissing the smaller boy’s lips. Remus kissed him back, a smile on his lips before opening his eyes.

“Sirius!” He gasped and pushed him off, but Sirius grinned, hugging the werewolf.

A gasp, a sound and a scent alerted Remus to another presence.
“Too common to get a bed are you, Black?” Severus spat, his eyes fixed on Remus. From where he had been watching, Remus had been returning the embrace. Well then. If this was the game Remus wanted to play.... he’d find how dangerous it can be playing with a Slytherin.

“Oh piss off, Snivellous!” Remus pushed Sirius off, and glared at his friend.

“Severus, I—”

“—I don’t want to hear it, Lupin,” Severus snarled. How could Remus do this to him? They were supposed to be mates and Remus had been kissing Sirius! Was everything Remus said a lie.

He turned on his heel and glided back to the main sections of the school.

“Severus, wait!” Remus chased after him and the other boy stopped, turned round and said three words that made his heart sink, die and completely killed him.

“I hate you.” With that, the Slytherin stalked off. Remus couldn’t do anything, couldn’t breathe, and Sirius watched the werewolf, an angry, hardened and cold look on his face.

So Remus wanted the snake? Sirius would make sure that he wouldn’t get him.

And be there to comfort his friend when he didn’t.
