Malfoys, Weasleys, Diaries and New Friends
Draco Malfoy smirked as the famous Harry Potter was dragged to the front of the shop and given free books. He'd have to make an appearance and taunt him about it. After all Potter had humiliated him and fouled the Malfoy family name. Now then, time for Potter taunting, one of Draco’s favorite activities.
“Famous Harry Potter; can't even step into a bookstore without being put on the front page.”
“Leave him alone,” said Weaselette. How many kids did the Weasels have? It was no wonder they were poor.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a long snake put a note in his shoe. Hmm interesting…perhaps the golden boy (who the snake was going to) wasn't so golden. “Need your girlfriend to stick up for you now Potter?”
“Now, now Draco, play nice,” said Father with a smirk, though the glint in his eyes told Draco he wasn't in trouble, as he picked up the Weasley girl’s secondhand book. “How can you be such a disgrace to the wizarding world when they don’t even pay you well for?” he asked Mr. Weasley. Draco admired his father deeply because of his calmness in all situations, even whilst dealing with the riffraff.
“We have different ideas of what's a disgrace,” Mr. Weasley retorted, though the fool was no match for his father.
“Clearly,” his father replied calmly. At this point Draco saw that through his father’s cunning, their Lord would be returning.
Draco then followed his father out of the store.

Malfoy Manor
Once Draco had reached his room, he calmly reached into his shoe and pulled out the piece of parchment on which was written:
Malfoy,
I should have taken your hand for various reasons in our first year. The whole train incident was a mistake. You’re right, some wizarding families are better than others. So I extend my hand in friendship with apologies for all I've done to you. Do you accept? Please write your answer on this parchment.
Potter
Draco reread the note before writing, “Potter, why would you want to be my friend?" only to watch it sink into the parchment.
“Because the Weasels are betraying me to Dumbledore, and your the only person who has ever offered their friendship because they wanted to,” came Harry’s reply.
Hmm Weasleys are more of riffraff than Draco had previously thought, though even they shouldn't sink so low. “Are the Weasels really betraying?” Draco grinned at this idea. He could finally make his father proud.
“Yes, start over?”
“Yes.”
“Hi, I'm Harry Potter, would you like to be my friend?”
“Yes Potter, though you'll soon find out that some families are better than others.”
“I already did.”
“Watch out for the Weaselette this year, apparently she's got the Dark Lord's diary.”
“I've got to go Draco, talk to you tomorrow?”
“Sure Potter, whatever.”
Draco rushed out of his room to inform his father.

The Burrow, Ginny's room
Ginny reached into her cauldron.
“Perhaps the Malfoy's were right,” she murmured to herself. “After all to them we are scum but it's all Harry Potter's fault. If he wasn't alive I'd be living a high life at Godric’s Hollow, not sitting here in this hovel that we have to live in so as not to arouse suspicion.”
She pulled out the second hand transfiguration book and sighed as she slipped through the pages, “Stupid, bloody Harry Potter who can't even defend himself from the Malfoys. It's no wonder Ron that doesn't like him, the stinking coward, and I have to act like a foolish fan girl!”
She stopped flicking when a page caught her attention, or at least what was on the page. A little black diary about a quarter of the size of her book. Perhaps she could formulate a plan to exact her revenge by writing it down in this little book. Then she could get Potter, after all Ron would help and so would Hermione.
Yes... Potter would pay. She picked up her quill and wrote, “Plans to exact revenge on Harry Potter, 5th of August,” only to watch the words fade into the crisp yellow pages. She stared for a moment in amazement before she wrote the words again. However, this time something wrote back.
“Who's Harry Potter?” appeared scrawled neatly on the top line.
“Harry Potter's the boy who defeated He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. He's a prat who's staying in our house, eating our food and not giving us a thing in return. He even acts like he owns the place!” she wrote back angrily.
“Ahhh, so I take it you don't like him then,” replied whatever was writing back.
“I despise him,” she said muttering to herself, not realizing that the twins were outside the door and had listened to her every word.
“We need to tell Harry,” they said between themselves.
The twins, along with Bill and Charlie, didn't like how their parents acted anymore ever since Dumbledore had given their parents money and Godric’s Hollow, all because Ron, the mini Percy, was pretending to be Harry’s friend. Well it was time they got a taste of their own medicine.
The twins heard their mother call Ron and Ginny downstairs. They'd do it now.

Riddle Manor
Voldemort flicked through an ancient dusty tomb of blood rituals. He needed to come back to his full strength and soon, but how? Lucius had his diary, he needed it put into play but how could he contact his follower when he was so weak? He-who-must not-be-named turned back to his tomb. All he needed now was the ritual and a servant. As soon as he had a rest, a visit to Malfoy Manor would be needed.

Next round of questions
1) What should I do to Ron, Hermione and Ginny? I need help thinking up pranks.
2) Should I still have Lockhart as their DADA teacher for the year, get rid of him early or just eliminate him from the story?
3) What do you think of Draco in my story? Is he out of character too much or not enough?
4) Should Cedric die?
5)Should the Basilisk in the Chamber die?
A/n: Sorry this took so long but I've been on holiday. Thank you for all those reviews.
I'll try and make chapters longer but no promises and beth please feel free to email me the rest of your ideas. If you spot any mistakes please tell me, although I think my beta did a thorough job of it.
