Chapter 6.

Hellos were said to Harry, Lily, James and Sirius before any of the red heads noticed the two Slytherins. Once they finally did a tense silence filled the house.

The silence was becoming unbearable. The group that had come out of the fire were staring at the two like they were exotic animals in a zoo until finally someone broke the silence.

“WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE THEY DOING HERE?” Ron screamed drawing everyone out of their temporary stupor.

“I asked him to come.” Harry said.

“Why?” Hermione asked before Ron could say or rather shout anything.

“I asked him to.” Lily told the congregated Weasley’s. “You see Harry had been telling us about his time at school and afterwards and he just kept coming up so I very much wanted to meet him.”

“And Snape?” Neville asked a bit of his old fear seeping into his voice.

“He came with Draco.” Harry told his adopted family.

“I still can’t believe that you invited him.” Ron grouched obviously not at all happy but keeping his temper because of Lily.

“It’s very nice to see you again Severus.” Molly said.

“A pleasure.” Severus said nodding to the large family.

“It is also wonderful to see you Draco.” Arthur said much to the shock of his youngest son.

“It is a pleasure Mr and Mrs Weasley.” Draco said with a polite nod. Most of the Weasley’s stared at Draco as if he were an alien.

“Well lets eat.” Lily said breaking the tension that had formed after Draco’s politeness.

The group awkwardly made it’s way to the dining room where the table had been enlarged to accommodate the number of people. On the table stood various dishes that were all steaming and making the room smell amazing.

“Stop drooling Ron.” Sirius chuckled. The group turned as one to see Ron blush and wipe his hand over his mouth.

“It’s not my fault it all smells so good.” Ron said.

“Did you do the cooking Mrs Potter?” Bill asked. “If I remember correctly Harry and Sirius were terrible at it when it came to dinner parties.”

“Yeah Harry can only make breakfast.” Fred or was it George said. Harry flushed at the admittance that he couldn’t cook anything but bacon and eggs.

“No I didn’t.” Lily said as the group all took their seats.

“I don’t remember James being able to cook.” Arthur said with a furrowed brow.

“Well lets tuck in.” Harry said. There was relative silence as everyone dished out food. Harry kept stealing glances at the love of his life. Draco looked uncomfortable and jumpy like he expected to be cursed at any moment.

Harry slipped a hand under the table and gave Draco’s leg an assuring squeeze. To his delight the blonde have him a small smile of thanks. This intimate little moment however did not go unnoticed but luckily for the two envolved it wasn’t by Ron.

“So Draco dear what are you up to nowadays?” Molly asked him in an attempt to start some conversation.

“Yeah are you still going around scarring little children?” Ron asked rather nastily.

“Ronald Weasley.” Hermione admonished. “Be nice and say you’re sorry.”

The table gave out a small chuckle when Ron did say sorry.

“She’s turning out like you Molly.” Sirius laughed. All Molly did was smile before looking at Draco expectantly.

“I’m doing an internship at St Mungo’s.” Draco told her.

“Really that must be very interesting.” Hermione said.

“It is and in a few months I’ll be able to take the healers test and become a qualified healer.” Draco said with a little smile.

“That’s wonderful. I’m so glad you’re happy.” Molly said. That had broken the ice and talking started erupting around the table although Draco and Severus were rather quiet.

“Man that was great.” Ron said as they finished desert. “Now seriously tell us who cooked.”

The rest of the Weasley’s agreed with the girls saying that they want to get some recipies.

“Draco did.” James told them. Silence fell yet again.

“Malfoy!” Ron exclaimed. “He cooked.”

“Yes he wouldn’t let anyone else.” Lily said quite fondly.

“He’s probably poisoned us!” Ron cried clutching at his throat.

“Now Mr. Weasley why would Draco do that? He did eat the food as well.” Severus said.

Sirius peered at the blonde Slytherin who seemed to be trying to make himself as small and unnoticeable as possible. A pang of guilt worked its way through him as he recalled how mean he had been to the young man. Moving his gaze to his godson Sirius saw that Harry looked about ready to rip Ron’s head off. Sirius then looked at the other Slytherin at the table to see that he had his expressionless mask on and he seemed to be waiting for an answer. Looking harder at the potion master he recalled the words that had been plaguing him for awhile now. ‘I’m more likely to steal your best friend then your wife.’ Had the Slytherin meant that he wasn’t interested in Lily or that he would rather hurt James by stealing his friendship? A small part of his mind to Sirius that maybe Snape had meant that he like Sirius the way James implied he liked Lily. Before he could think on that idea any longer he was brought back to reality by a chair being scraped across the floor.

Looking around Sirius saw that Ron, Harry and Molly were all out of their seats.

“Ronald Weasley I will not have you speak like that. Apologise to Draco this very moment or there will be hell to pay. I can’t believe you are my son.” Molly said. Ron had obviously said something very bad to get such a reaction from Molly.

“What happened?” Sirius asked James in a whisper.

“You didn’t hear?” James whispered back. Sirius shook his head. “Well Ron was going on about Draco poisoning the food and that he probably had Snape brew him an antidote for them to take later while the rest of us are dieing.”

Sirius stared at his friend with wide eyes. How could Ron say that? Did he really still hate Draco so much?

“Did he really?” Sirius asked hoping that James was joking.

“He did Padfoot.” James said seriously. The two friends were brought out of their conversation by a bright light.
