"Severus Snape."
The dark man turned to who was calling him to see three woman standing behind the round table. Right behind Eneto.
Priestesses of Avalon. Then it hit him and by the looks of his companion's faces, it dwelled on them as well. They were being called by the Brotherhood. The Sword of Arthur found them pure enough and brave of heart to join them.
Oh Merlin, Albus Dumbledore was going to just choke on his lemon drops on this one!!!
Chapter 6:: Swords, Calling and Fate
qpqpqqp
One by one she called them till they stood side by side. The tallest woman dressed in White robes with runes inscribed in gold stepped forward and down a step, "I am Rhiannon, the Lady of the Lake. I am a
Priestess of Avalon. And through Excalibur, Avalon has called you to join us, and the Brotherhood. Excalibur has judged your souls and hearts, finding them pure and brave." She paused, looking to each
individual with her dark eyes, "So do you as Wizards and Men..." She smiled at Hermione, "and Woman take an oath to stand by those of the Brotherhood, to join them at the Round Table as equal men and women, to fight and uphold the law of the land. To stand by the heir of Arthur? To bring Glory to Avalon!"
There, before them, and around them was a myth becoming real. The Priestesses of Avalon. Stories of old and ancient magic passed down hundreds of years from Wizard to child. It was all here in the flesh and
very real.
The Call and the power pulsed throughout the room. Each one knew in their hearts that to take the next step was not only right, but, their destinies, as fate had declared for them. All the ups and downs, the
hardships they had faced in their lives had all brought them to this point in their lives.
That all the paths Severus has walked, through the darkness had led him to this point in his life.
A place to call home, where they finally belonged, and a place within the Brotherhood--a place with Eneto. With that last fleeting thought in his mind, Severus Snape took a step forward and went to one knee before the three priestesses.
"I will. I, Severus Xadrian Snape swear upon my wand and my magic."

Lucius Malfoy closed his eyes. For the first time since he had taken the Dark Mark on the order of his father, and effectively giving up his free will and life to follow a madman, he could taste freedom. He felt a lone tear fall down his cheek as he realized his soul had finally been purged of the darkness. The bindings of his old life had been shed, and it was time to step into this new role. He took the hand of his lover and his mate.
Silver eyes silently communicated with amber ones, as one they stepped forward and went to bended knee next to Severus.

Sirius Black looked behind him to his godson. He would always be Harry to him. Always. But now a man stood where a ragamuffin of a boy once stood, always looking lost and alone. But no more—not the man, Eneto. He made so many promises to James and Lily. All of them broken when he ran
off to avenge them in the dark of the night, but instead, lost part of his life in Azkaban and Harry to his horrid relatives. Lily’s emerald eyes looked back at him, and all he felt was forgiveness. Maybe all his promises weren't broken. To stand at Harry’s… Eneto’s side, and help protect him, would be his mission--his gift.
Sirius joined the other men on bended knee.

Ron Weasley was feeling overwhelmed, dealing with all the emotions of the past few hours. Harry.... Eneto had come to bring them to Avalon. Excalibur had judged them and called. He, Ronald Bilius Weasley, the one who stood in the shadows of his brothers and his friends was worthy of this. This was more than fighting a war against a Dark Lord bent on
destroying and ruling the world. This was a chance to stand next to others as an equal for himself. As he looked to his oldest and dearest friend, Hermione, he knew what his decision would be. The same as hers, and Draco’s, and the other’s already kneeling with heads bowed.
It was a silent communion between the two young lovers as Draco and Hermione held hands. So much had happened to bring them to his point in their lives. This was just one more step in their lives as fate dictated. When Ron stepped forward, they moved with him and knelt as one, ready to take the oath.

The power rose in the room as mists swirled around them. "Avalon has called and you have answered. Open your hearts and minds and let the power of the Goddesses fill you."
For a moment.... it was as if they were taking a breath as the power filled the room. Magic in it's purist form flowed through and around the room.
Another of the Priestesses stepped down spread her arms... Stand and pledge an oath to Avalon and her Heir."
pqpqpq
Excalibur glowed as the power in the room rose to higher levels. Eneto stepped away from the round table and his place beside Neville, and made his way to the dais. The priestesses held the glowing sword in her hands out to him.
"Heir of Arthur, do you except these judged by the sword?"
Full circle he had come. His family was finally at his side; all of his family. Together, they would push back the evil that had ruled over them for so long.
Then maybe they could settle down in to quiet lives.
Eneto reached out and took the sword and held it with both hands. Then moving as poetry in motion, he pulled the ancient guardian from the scabbard and held it in front of him. As always it sung to him. Called to his soul. All his ancestors from Arthur down spoke to him. Comforted him.
He faced his family and friends. His lover. "I accept them." His voice vibrated as he spoke from the thousand voices that had held Excalibur before him, their essences coursed through him as the power swirled around the room.
It was intoxicating.
"Will you pledge yourselves to Avalon?" When they all nodded, the Priestesses asked. "Repeat these words," she waved a hand and words appeared in the mists.
"We will to our utmost power, with life and earthly goods, stand against wrongs and strengthen peace and righteousness. To be safe and true to Avalon.
To honor Excalibur as a Knight of the Round Table. We will honor the Brotherhood as we honor our family. We will pledge to uphold what is right, to all the best teachings from
the Brotherhood. In our quest may we bring glory to Avalon!"
Severus felt a tingle on his left arm, before he fell to his knees as pain coursed through his chest. He cried out from the pain. He heard an answering cry from his right as Lucius went to his knees as well gripping his arm tightly. He felt a battle waging within him, then a
wrenching on his core as something pulled free. Gasping for breath, he pulled up the sleeve of his robe to find the dark mark gone. His skin was unmarked, free of the ugly tattoo for the first time in twenty years. He gasped, as his eyes welled. Lucius gasped as well and they looked at each other with wide eyes, before looking to Eneto.
Further down a small tattoo appeared—a tingling sensation signaling its appearance.
"The small tattoo is only a mark of allegiance to Avalon. There is no magic associated with it. No one will torture or call you to your death. It is how we know and acknowledge one another. You are still completely free."
Eneto stepped down and held his hand out to Severus. "You are free from that madman, Severus. No more can he claim you as one of his own. You. Are. Free."
"Free."
Smiling, "Yes. Free. Welcome to the Brotherhood, Severus." Then to those around him, "Welcome my friends to the Brotherhood! Let the celebration begin. Drink and be merry my Brothers and Sisters!"
pqpqpq
Ron stood rubbing the small tattoo on his wrist. He was a part of something on his own merits. He didn't stand in the shadows of his brothers. He was now part of legend...a legacy that was thousands of years old.
Looked up as five Brotherhood members approached him, stopping only a few feet from him. One by one they pushed back their hoods.
Ron's eyes widened as he saw all of his brothers standing before him.
Eneto looked over his shoulder as Ron was engulfed in a Weasley family reunion. He smiled, things were definitely moving in the right direction now.
