Chapter 6

Remus was surprised when his legs carried him to Severus’ quarters that afternoon. He supposed he shouldn’t have been, considering his brain wasn’t in his head anymore, but in other… areas he wasn’t going to think about.

He’d been planning on sleeping in his own room that night, more for his sake than Severus’. He couldn’t take being refused, it made him feel ignored. Again.

He knocked and opened the door, startled by how dark it was. He found his wand on the table, and quickly turned on a lamp by Severus’ desk. He was surprised to find the Potion Master asleep on the couch and felt the familiar tightening in his groin. He’d be glad when this thing was over. At least it was easier to say ‘no’ then.

He sighed and leaned on the back of it, watching as Severus’ parted lips moved minutely with his breathing. His hair was all over the cushion and Remus had to restrain himself from touching it. He already knew what it felt like: like it’d gone a few days without being washed. But he didn’t mind, it was apart of Severus.

He grabbed a blanket, tossing it over the man, carefully tucking it under the Severus’ knee. Against his better judgment, Remus leant down and kissed Severus’ lips sweetly, immediately leaving to relieve himself in the bathroom.

When he came out, looking slightly flushed, the wolf growled. He felt two arms wrap around his waist and a face nuzzling into his shoulder blade. He spun around, growling threateningly.

Severus’ eyebrow rose at the werewolf’s consideration, though it was far from cold down here. He usually shrugged off the temperature of his quarters, having grown used to it over the years.

He waited until he heard the door’s creak and the lock’s small ‘click’ before he moved, carefully, folding back the blanket back as he stepped into his room. He was careful to remain silent as he crept over to the blank wall by the bathroom door, and flushed slightly when a stray moan made its way into his ears.

He owed Lupin this he told himself. Lupin had saved his life, he could be his little play thing for four days. It wouldn’t hurt, on the contrary, as much as he hated to admit it, the idea was almost inviting.

Soon Lupin was coming out, and Severus swallowed, his course of action clear and standing in front of him.

He slid his arms around Lupin, resting his cheek against his back. The growl made him jump, yet another memory of the Shrieking Shack incident making its way to the surface.

He saw Lupin’s honey coloured eyes darken before his lips crashed onto his own. With a very quiet moan, Lupin had Severus prone on the bed, their hips grinding together as they continued kissing. Lupin tore apart the buttons on both their shirts and pants.

He arched into Lupin, his hands gripping the werewolf’s shoulders as he was deep-throated. Merlin where had Lupin learnt how to do that with his tongue? He groaned loudly as he felt Lupin’s hand snake under him, flipping him over onto his stomach, as the werewolf’s hot, hot mouth left his erection.

First he felt a lovely tingling feeling, as Lupin parted him, searching for his anus. A finger’s gentle prodding let him know Lupin had found it and a few thrusts later it was joined by another. Severus had barely enough time to gasp for breath as Lupin knelt behind him, pushing himself inside Severus hurriedly.

“Oh Merlin…” He moaned.

Severus agreed with that notion as Lupin hurriedly thrusted, and Severus couldn’t help the amusement that (was promptly squashed) had risen in him: No wonder why Lupin seemed so hesitant when he realized what he was doing. He hadn’t been doubting Severus, he was fighting for control!

A control that didn’t seem to exist as Severus’ hips were held in place with a firm grip and his shoulders bitten mercilessly as Lupin thrusted and groaned.

Severus gave up with trying to keep up with Lupin’s thrusting, instead trying to keep his mind on remaining on his hands and knees. Lupin’s chest was pressed against his back, both of them slicked with sweat. But the horrid stickiness he knew he’d feel uncomfortable with later remained as a small thought in his pleasure hazed mind.

He bit back a groan as he arched up, feeling Lupin’s hand move from his hips to his groin, the hand grabbing his wanting erection and stroking roughly.

“Lupin…” He panted, head tilting back as the werewolf growled something against it. He came quickly after that and cursed as he felt warmth spread all over him, into him. They both collapsed, too bothered to realize that Lupin was still on top of Severus to move for a moment.

Oh Merlin, oh god… He panted, gently shifting Lupin from off him and moving away. Lupin didn’t seem to want to lose physical contact and pulled him close, kissing and licking the Potion Master’s neck, falling asleep slowly.

Severus remained awake.

He felt fantastically warm when he awoke the next morning, cuddled up against a bare back. Remus’ eyes opened and he smiled sleepily.

“I know you’re awake.” Remus whispered licking Severus’ ear languidly, his hand caressing Severus’ stomach softly.

Severus shifted slightly, awaking Remus’ already half-erect member. “I would like to wash up Lupin.” He said dully.

“Lupin? You can’t call me that after what we did, will do.” He rolled Severus onto his back, gently kneeling between the man’s long, parted legs, rubbing his cool thighs gently. He nipped at Severus’ thin chest lightly.

“You are still Lupin, no matter what we did.” Severus scoffed, trying to keep his movements to a low, feeling Lupin’s reaction. “Are you feeling better?” Severus asked keeping his eyes averted to the walls. Remus nodded and bit his cheek, licking it wetly. Severus frowned, wiping at the wetness, “What was that? A werewolf’s kiss?” He hadn’t meant to make eye contact, he was effectively silenced by the almost glowing look in Remus’ eyes.

“Much better,” He purred. Remus didn’t know why, but something felt off, something just wasn’t right. Something about Severus just… He swore mentally at his werewolf senses, not really having more time to think about it as Severus’ hands started rubbing his shoulders, rubbing out the knots.

Oh yes, he could get used to this.

Sirius was not happy.

That story Dumbledore had told them was the cause of his unhappiness. He was not willing to believe that Snape was a half-blood. He knew there were muggleborns and half-bloods in Slytherin, he wasn’t that clueless, but there was no way that Severus ‘I’m-holier-than-though’ Snape was one of that population.

He sighed exasperatedly. Really… A half-blood! An abused half-blood! How dramatic was this guy’s life? And forced to join Voldemort? Hello! Didn’t Voldemort perform some loyalty charm on his followers?

But then how did Snape get away with spying for so many years? Sirius felt sick, he wasn’t used to protecting Snape, or arguing that he was nothing more than a slimy Slytherin who was willing to take advantage of those in power to meet his own selfish deeds.

But had Snape done that? He asked himself. He had to admit that teaching a classroom full of adolescents didn’t seem like Snape’s dream job, maybe hiding away in a lab all day… Sirius returned to glaring at the wall.

He jumped slightly when he felt a slight tug on his trousers. He looked down to find an elf with large green eyes staring up at him.

“Oly sorry to bother you sir, but Oly just wondering if you knew where Master Potions Master were? Oly must deliver a letter sir, and he is very worried about Master.”

Sirius’ gaze flickered to the envelope wrapped in the house elf’s long, bony fingers. “Yeah, I know where he is.” He paused, “I can give it to him if you want.”

The elf nodded, “Oly would be most grateful sir, very busy, Oly is.” The elf gave a polite bow and with a ‘pop’ disappeared.

Sirius stared at the letter, reading the words ‘Severus Snape’ in neat, feminine writing. His mouth crinkled into a sneer when he noticed this.

Carefully he opened the letter, smiling slightly at the scribbles all over the page. He read it carefully,

Morning Severus,

No, I will not have a go at for the lame start, but I must advice that you say hello or something. It’s been a bad habit you’ve practically always had. But moving on…

What?! You mean you have an admirer? Tut, tut, you lucky thing. Maybe I can scare them off for you since this person seems to bug you so, hm? You always seemed to do that with my suitors.

Don’t doubt yourself, dear Severus, you are an attractive man. You shouldn’t listen to those… Bok Choy brains.

There was an unrecognizable scribble before the insult. Sirius cringed, not that it was a very good one.

Gabby just told me I shouldn’t swear. The one you just read happens to be her favourite insult right now. Anyway… Now what was I talking about? That’s right…

You’re hair’s hereditary, the same as your nose, as for everything else, you look very nice and your unique features continue to make you look so. A friend of mine asked if you were single. How would you like me to reply?

Now… You want us to come over? Really? We get to see your home? Gabs is already packing her bags, is next week alright? Are we going to be flooing there or catching a cab? Haha… eh… Yeah, I know… Shut up.

And you’re not evil! If you were you would have killed that boy you dislike so much. What’s his name? Harvey?

We’re all okay, Gabby finished sixth year! Oh my… Our little girl’s growing up so fast. She’s going to be thirteen this year! You’re coming for the party, aren’t you? We’ll talk about it later.

Bye bye deary, write again soon!

Love from,

Nicole and Gabby

PS – It’s alright, Pewter’s lovely.

PPS – Just act like you do around us. Though you don’t look particularly cuddly, we know you’re nice to hug. Just hug back. And what happened? Are you alright? You’re not hurt are you?

PPPS – It’s burnt.

Sirius reread the letter several times, each time making him even more confused.

Was this lady his girlfriend? His wife? And this Gabby, was she his daughter?

‘Our little girl’

Was Remus fucking a wedded man?

His blood turned cold. Remus? What would happen to him? His poor friend, he didn’t deserve this. He was the nicest, kindest and most caring person he’d ever met and what did he get for it?

A condition that couldn’t be healed, a lover that could never love him back and day after day of self-loathing.

Could life be more unfair to him? He sighed and stood up, Remus needed to know now. The sooner the better. He placed the letter back in the envelope.

Now hopefully Snape wouldn’t be there, he needed to talk to Remus alone.

To Severus’ disgust he felt content as he sat on his bed, curled up in the blankets, more comfortable than he had been for years. His ass hurt a bit, but he could ignore that.

The Headmaster had been right in saying that he’d enjoy their coupling, no matter how short it would last. He saddened at the thought of a lonely bed, but reprimanded himself. He knew that this was for four days. Remus would return to being disgusted with him after that.

But he was going to enjoy the time. He’d decided. He’d be paying Remus back for saving his life and it wasn’t like he’d gotten the short straw. Black probably had that. Severus smirked with amusement.

Remus had gone down to the kitchens to grab them some lunch, both of them having skipped breakfast in favour of some other more vigorous activity. He was famished and it seemed like Remus had wanted to pamper him. He’d figured it was because of this ‘pleasing their mate’ thing, Dumbledore had whispered to him before leaving his quarters that first night, two nights ago.

He heard the door open and sat up straighter, leaning forward almost painfully. Maybe he’d have to teach Remus the meaning of slow and sensual.

He waited for a long while. He stared at the door, worry seeping into his bones. Why was he taking so long? The bedroom door creaked open and he grabbed his wand moving to stand up by the bed. When a black head poked itself into the room, Severus let out a sigh.

“Black, what do you think you’re doing? These are my quarters. You knock and wait.”

Black ignored him, “Where’s Remus?”

Severus’ eyebrow rose as Black’s eyes fell on him, looking him up and down. Severus felt a little naked standing there, though he was donned in a pair of black slacks and a matching t-shirt.

“Down in the kitchens. Why?” Severus sat back down on the bed, staring hard with black, empty eyes.

Black growled menacingly, throwing an envelope at Severus. He caught it messily.

Severus stared at the letter, immediately sneering when he noticed it had been opened. “You read my mail Black?”

“It’s a good thing I did too! Why didn’t you tell Remus the truth?” He glared hatefully, “You’re married.”

Severus blinked owlishly and before he knew what he was doing, his body was shaking as he rose a hand to his mouth to laugh loudly. Black stared at him, Severus guessed he thought he was off his rocker and he had to admit it, he was very close to it.

“Me? Married?” He managed, a smug smirk on his lips, “Wasn’t it you, Black, that said no girl would ever fall for me, with my greasy hair and my huge nose? You really are a moron Black.” His smirk was now a bitter frown, and he was glowering at Black.

He let his glare move to the letter and he read it slowly and let it all sink in. He could feel Black’s stare, but he wasn’t going to do anything about it.

“They’re not related to you by married?” He managed as Severus finished the letter. Severus nodded.

He replied in a matter-of-fact tone, almost as if he were mimicking Hermione. “They happen to be my cousins.”

“But the ‘Our little girl’ and calling you deary, what type of cousin calls their cousin deary?”

“Why am I explaining this to you Black?” Severus asked incrediously and continues, “She was talking about Gabrielle, their daughter. Though her father past away from cancer, Nicole likes to think that he would be proud. As for calling me ‘deary’” He cringed, “I have asked her to stop many times. But she seems to have the same problem that you do Black.”

“Hey! Shut up, Snivellus!”

“Don’t call him that.”

The room went silent as both occupants realized that Remus had returned, two trays stacked with food in hand. Severus stared openly at the piles of cakes and other sweets, but was thankful when he noticed the steaming mug of coffee.

“Lupin, I can’t eat that much.” He scoffed. Remus placed the trays on the bed, sitting on the opposite side to Severus.

“You put your clothes back on.” He said sulkily, and Black managed not to stare or snort with amusement as Severus flushed a baby pink.

“We have a visitor Lupin.” Severus reached for the coffee, finding that Lupin moved it further away. He looked up at Lupin, eyes questioning.

Remus smirked, “Kiss first.”
