The Return

It had been a week since the trip to the Weasleys, and the students were returning today. Currently all of the inhabitants of the castle were sleeping, well all but Harry. He was currently paying homage to the porcelain gods. After twenty minutes he was finally finished and brushed his teeth. Making sure he hadn’t disturbed his sleeping husband he went into the sitting room and decided to perform the charm to see if he was pregnant or if he just had the flu. He hoped it was the former.

Pointing his wand at his stomach he muttered the charm and watched as a purple glow surrounded his stomach confirming there would be another addition to their family. After double-checking the results he went to take a shower and get ready for the day.

After showering and dressing he went into the bedroom to wake his husband and have him get ready so they could go to breakfast. Going over to the bed he started to place gentle kisses on his husbands face. Suddenly arms were wrapped around him and he found himself falling on top of his husband.

“Happy Anniversary”

“Happy Anniversary, why are you up so early?”

“Just a little trouble sleeping is all.”

“Ok, well I should get into the shower so we can go to breakfast.”

“Yeah probably. We should also find a time meet with the Weasleys so we can inform them about the baby. After all it will be here in nine months.” Harry said with a smile waiting for Severus to catch on. It took a while for Severus’s brain to catch up.

Suddenly he placed a gentle hand on Harry’s still flat stomach. “Are you serious?” Harry performed the charm again to show Severus just how serious he was. Suddenly he had his husband’s lips on his in a passionate kiss showing just how happy he was with the new development.

“As much as I am enjoying this. I am hungry and would like to eat sometime this morning.”

Severus gave his husband one more kiss and went to shower. A half an hour later the two were headed toward the great hall to join the rest of the staff for breakfast.

James couldn’t believe it. He had been at Hogwarts for a week and had not been able to talk to his son. Every time he got anywhere near Harry someone would show up or Harry would see him and walk a way. He was starting to think his son was trying to avoid him.

It seemed even Sirius and Remus were avoiding him, and he and Lily had never been able to figure out who raised their son. Their son’s had told them about the conversation they had with Harry, but he and Lily both agreed that he had to be lying. No one, no matter how powerful the person was.

He had heard Albus talking about how some woman named Wesley, or something like that was bringing her family here as a surprise for his son and his son’s “husband” as a surprise as they won’t get to see them as much during the school year. Sure enough there were seven Redheads sitting at the Griffindor table glaring at him and his family and Harry and Snape were not here yet, but that wasn’t unusual they were usually the last two here.

Just then the doors opened and he saw his son and Snape walk in. Then his son looked at the Griffindor table and the smile he had before got even bigger. What he heard next broke his heart.

Harry went over and hugged Molly while Severus shook hand with Arthur. “Mum I didn’t know you were going to be here.” Harry said never noticing the devastated looks cross the Potters face. Severus did, and decided to exact a little revenge for him and his husband.

“So Molly what would you like to have a Grandson or Granddaughter?”

“Harry, are you?” Came Molly’s hopeful voice.

“Yeah mum, in nine months you will have the grandchild you keep pestering us all for. So will you give the others a rest? I mean Remus and Sirius are the only other ones who are even married.” The rest of the Weasley children thought Harry thankful looks, they were all getting fed up with their mother’s pestering, while Remus and Sirius glared at Harry.

“I will stop pestering when those two give me one too.” Molly said with a smile

“Well can’t blame me for trying.” Just then a sob came from the Head table and they all looked up just in time to see Lily get up and leave the room and James look like someone punched him in the stomach. Harry almost felt bad, but he was too happy about the baby to feel any negative emotions.

James got up and followed his wife out the door never realizing that his children and five others had followed him.

Lily looked up as her husband entered the classroom followed by her three younger children.

“That should be us James, we should be the ones called mom and dad, and grandma and grandpa. Not those redheads, us.”

“I know, but Snape polluted him against us. Those redheads were probably in on it with him. They all looked like Slytherins especially those twins.”

“I would be careful of how you talk about people in this school. You never know who might overhear you.” Came the voice of Albus. The family looked up to see Albus, Severus, Harry, Sirius, and Remus.

“Those redheads have a name and it is Weasley. They have all been Griffindors about as long as the Potters have. Though the twins would have made good Slytherins.” Came Severus’s voice. The Weasleys. They were a good family if you could overlook Ron and Percy.

“And as for Severus polluting Harry’s mind. If Voldemort couldn’t do it, though not for lack of trying, then Severus couldn’t do it. He would also never attempt to do it as he loves Harry more than life itself.” Came Remus’s angry voice.

“And, no, you don’t deserve to be called my child’s grandparents. Why? Because you left to go start a new family somewhere. Do you know what my life was like? No, you don’t, you didn’t have to wake up a 17 year old and then comfort him after a nightmare about Voldemort or his abusive relatives, Molly, Arthur, Sev, Remus, and Sirius did though. You weren’t there comforting me as I told those five, Albus, and Minerva about every beating, every night of sleep lost due to either being hungry or in to much pain, or worse when I had to tell them about every rape at the hands of a gigantic uncle or a cousin the size of a whale. Did you hold me as I cried my self to sleep? No, Molly did. Or Carry me to bed instead of waking me up? No, that was Arthur. That is why they are mum and dad, and will be Grandma and Grandpa.”

By this time Harry was in tears and hadn’t seen the Weasleys come up behind the group or the shocked look on all the kids faces, potter and? Weasley, as they heard his horror story for the first time. He did feel Molly’s arms go around him to comfort him and when his legs were about to give out he felt Severus pick him up and carry him back down to their quarters. He heard Arthur tell his children to follow them and wait down there for their parents to return. He then heard Remus, Sirius, and Albus say they were going back to their offices before he lost consciousness.

Once the others were gone Arthur looked over at the still shocked Potters. He cleared his throat and that seemed to snap him out of it.

“So what he was telling us a week ago was true?” Stated Cody.

“Did you think he would lie about something like that?” Molly couldn’t believe her ears. “My son would never lie, especially about his life. And if he did it would be to make it sound more bearable. The only people who knew before today were as Harry stated, me and Arthur, Remus and Sirius, Severus, Minerva and Albus.”

“If you don’t mind my asking, how did you meet Harry?”

“I am only going to tell you so you know how to behave around him. I will not have you endanger the life of him or my grandchild because of your ignorance, but first I am going to check with Severus to make sure it is ok.” When she got the go-ahead from Severus she stated to answer their questions. “We first met him at the station, his guardians left him there when he was just 11 and he didn’t know how to get onto the platform. He was very polite, too polite for someone his age. That was the year he became friends with my Ron. The next year he spent part of the summer with us after Ron and the twins flew our enchanted car to Surry and back. Of course that was after they got the bars off his window to break him out of his room.”

“There were bars on his window?”

“Yeah they had locked him in and were passing food through a cat flap when they remembered to feed him. Before he went to school at Hogwarts he lived in a broom cupboard under the stairs and would sometimes go weeks without food. He was beaten from the time he started living with these people and only his magic kept him alive. That is why he always seemed to have an average amount of power. By the time his magic had replenished it was time to go back to those people. But when he turned 16 it got worse, that is when the rapes started.”

“Who did he live with?”

“We didn’t find out about any of this until he was 17, he was able to hide it that well. We found out at the beginning of July when Ron and Hermione went to check on him and found him covered in bruises. Ron had to literally carry him out of there. They brought him back to the Burrow and that is where the truth came out. They had picked him up at his Aunt and Uncle’s, Petunia and Vernon Dursley’s house. Those two and their son are going to be in Azkaban the rest of their lives for what they did.”

“He had to live with them? Did things get better after that?” Asked Lily with tears running down here cheeks.

“After a while yes. In the beginning he would only talk with Severus, Remus, Sirius, and myself. We were the only ones he felt safe with. Then you can imagine having to bond with someone to defeat a monster that wanted you dead. Things were not easy, but with the help of Remus, Sirius, myself, and mostly Severus Harry got better. You can see he doesn’t at like your normal 20 year old. We think this is why his soul mate is so much older than him. He has always carried the burdens of an adult and never was a child. You were the ones to do that to him.” Finished Molly.

“What happened to Ron and Hermione?”

“They are no longer talking to each other. Hermione was a muggleborn and thought homosexuality was a crime. Ron loved her so he agreed. He disowned himself from our family and told us he wouldn’t speak to us as long as we considered Harry family. That was 2 years ago and we haven’t spoken since. All we know is the two are married and nothing else.” Answered Molly, longing for her son in her voice. She was still his mother and understood a little how Lily must have felt, but that didn’t excuse what they did to Harry.

“I know you have a problem with who he is bonded to, but Severus is not the man he used to be. Most of that is a persona he created for himself when he became a spy for Albus. He had to be careful, as he didn’t have family to fall back on until Harry and the rest of us came along. His own had disowned him for taking the mark, and now he has to teach his younger brother’s children, as they will start coming to Hogwarts this year. Harry is really all he has left, and now the baby. Please don’t ruin this for them, or I will have no problem allowing the rest of my family to come after you.” Said Arthur.

At this Cody got a little offensive, “Is that a threat.”

“No, it’s a promise.” And with that Arthur and Molly left the Potters to consider what they had just heard. The Potters realized when they left Harry they gave up any chance of him welcoming them back now, but they would still try. James was even willing to try to be nice to Severus.

Ok time for a vote. How many want the baby to he a boy and how many want it to be a girl? I would also like idea for a name.

Another thing Severus's family will come into this and disowned him for taking the mark. Now his parents will not be very nice. His siblings however, do you want him to get along with them, or should they be stuck up like his parents. He is the oldest and has a brother and two sisters
